DURBAN - The stage is set for the Nedbank Cup final between Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs at Durban's Moses Mabhida Stadium.
Orlando Pirates are putting in the final touches in training, and coach Jose Riveiro is backing his side with confidence.
Pirates are determined to end the season on a high and deny their archrivals a shot at ending their long-standing trophy drought.
Fans are just as fired up.
On the South African Morning, we asked viewers what it will take for Kaizer Chiefs to finally break their silverware dry spell.
Here's what some had to say:
'I am a Kaizer Chiefs supporter, and in order for us to beat Orlando Pirates tomorrow, we must throw together an almighty tactical style because lately, we've been run-of-the-mill,' said @Gabojust.
'It's gonna be a tough one for Amakhosi, but they will win 3-1,' said @SibisiGlen.
@Moxido88 said Chiefs are lacking in the final product.
"It's not like these teams are dominating them. They need to keep it simple and maintain intensity for the whole 90 minutes. Also, they must be clinical in front of goals.'
@knowledgengwen8 is a betting man.
"I put my money on Pirates. They have that fighting spirit — that 'I can do it' thing,' he said.
'Players must play for each other. If I was the coach, I'd go with a 3-5-2 system. Best system for Chiefs,' said @LandileVik19290.
The final whistle on Saturday will decide it all.

Orlando Pirates transfers: Mako, Mashiloane, Appollis

Today's Orlando Pirates transfer wrap looks at both outgoings and potential incoming ahead of the new season. Paseka Mako leaves Pirates after seven years. Versatile defender Tshepho Mashiloane joins from Baroka. 31-year-old full-back Paseka Mako made 26 appearances across all competitions last term for Pirates. The compact left-sided star is much-loved by the fans. Another firm favourite, Deon Hotto, is 34 now and approaching the twilight of his stellar career. Is it foolish, therefore, to let go of Mako, who still has plenty to offer at this level? In their search for a prolific wide man, Chiefs have reportedly reignited their interest in Polokwane and Bafana star Oswin Appollis. The 23-year-old was in action for South Africa in a 0-0 draw against Tanzania. Appollis is also a target for Pirates. Click for the story What is there to know about 23-year-old Tshepho Mashiloane? Well, the versatile defender can operate at right-back or in central midfield. This will be a considerable boost for the Pirates technical team; although they have a strong squad at their disposal, both full-back positions are relatively weak spots after the release of Thabiso Monyane and Mako. With experience in the second tier, it's also hoped that he's ready for a battle. Click for a full profile Tshepho Mashiloane in action for Baroka FC in the Motsepe Foundation Championship. BREAKING: Kaizer Chiefs agree deal for Orlando Pirates star!

Kaizer Chiefs have moved quickly to finalise a deal to sign a player departing from arch rivals Orlando Pirates! Chiefs are looking to ensure that they do not have the same season as their two previous campaigns. It is not usual that players move directly between the Soweto giants, however, it has happened in the recent past. This is usually only through free agency, with names like Jimmy Tau, Lehlohonolo Majoro and Brilliant Khuzwayo coming to mind. Those players moved between Chiefs and Pirates without the clubs being involved in direct negotiations with each other. Pirates and Chiefs agreed historic Sam deal Then last season, however, Chiefs and Pirates negotiated a historic first ever transfer between each other. Amakhosi acquired the services of Bongani Sam from the Buccaneers, with the left-back signing for a reported R3 million fee. This publication then reported on Friday evening that Thabiso Monyane could be next to cross the divide. Last night, those news escalated with an update claiming Chiefs are in advanced talks with Monyane. Now there has been even further movement in that regard. According to iDiski Times, Amakhosi have reached an agreement with the right-back to sign him ahead of the next season. Amakhosi agree deal to sign Monyane from the Buccaneers ' Former Orlando Pirates wing-back Thabiso Monyane is set to join Kaizer Chiefs after the expiry of his contract. Monyane, 25, is embarking on a new journey of his career, leaving the club where he was raised from the development structures, towards a new challenge at their Soweto rivals. SABC Sport broke the news last week that Amakhosi had been offered the chance to sign the player, and this website has it on good authority, a deal has been reached between the two parties.' Wrote the publication. How do you feel about this deal? Chiefs fans are you happy with the signing of Monyane from Pirates? Let us know by clicking on the comment tab. PSL transfer news: Mbesuma, Mbule, Mofokeng, Moremi, Rulani

Premier Soccer League (PSL) clubs are preparing for the transfer window to open in the coming weeks. The Betway Premiership might have ended but expect more player movement from now until mid-September. While champions Mamelodi Sundowns are preparing for the FIFA Club World Cup, Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates will look to capitalise and bring in top players to challenge for top honours. Last year, Amakhosi was the busiest PSL team in the transfer window, bringing in seven players before adding three more in the January period. Under Nasreddine Nabi, the Soweto giants won the Nedbank Cup but failed to improve in the league. Collins Mbesuma, who played for Amakhosi in the mid-2000s, has offered his services to his former club. 'A PSL club? Of course, Khosi for Life. At my peak, I could be solving their current goal-scoring crisis. I'm a striker's coach, you know, so I'm available to help any team,' Mbesuma told KickOff . The midfielder was been linked with Amakhosi for several weeks, having reportedly parted ways with Mamelodi Sundowns. His agent, Mike Makaab revealed he offered the ex-Richards Bay midfielder to Amakhosi 'Let me set the record straight. Sipho Mbule has been offered to Kaizer Chiefs,' the agent admitted on X. 'It is up to the club to make the decision and we need to respect that decision.' Another player on the move is AmaZulu winger Tshepang Moremi. According to Soccer Laduma , the Buccaneers had secured a three-year deal with the KwaZulu-Natal-based talent. 'We can say that this Orlando Pirates and Moremi deal is as good as done,' an insider told Soccer Laduma . Yes, it's believed that Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs were also interested in him, but Pirates have won this race. It's as good as done at the moment,' the insider added. Another coach who could rejoin Orlando Pirates is Rulani Mokwena. With Jose Riveiro with Al Ahly, Mokwena is amongst the favourites to take over from the Spaniard. The 37-year-old has a short, unsuccessful stint with Tunisian giants Wydad Casablanca. Orlando Pirates will be the PSL team to watch this transfer period, having already released several players. One top player set to leave for Europe is Relebohile Mofokeng.
