New Delhi: Around 168 missing persons, including 53 children, have been reunited with their families in southwest district as part of 'Operation Milap'—an ongoing initiative by
Delhi Police
.
According to police, this involved focused efforts through June, as part of a broader campaign aimed at locating and reuniting missing persons, particularly vulnerable minors, with their loved ones.
DCP (southwest) Amit Goel said, "As a part of the extensive search plan, the local police launched multiple operations upon receiving reports of any missing or kidnapped individuals. Through technical surveillance and local intelligence, police tracked down the individuals."

"Their movements were also traced through inquiries with bus drivers, conductors and vendors. Records of nearby police stations and hospitals also played a crucial role in the search operations," DCP Goel added.
Kapashera police led the effort, reuniting 33 individuals with their families, followed by Sagarpur police with 30 and Palam Village police with 24. Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) successfully reunited 11 children, while Kapashera police reunited the highest number of adults, 28, with their families.
According to police, the total number of reunited missing persons in the district for the year 2025 so far is 521, which includes 149 children and 372 adults.

Two boys were killed after a wall collapsed in southwest Delhi's Vasant Vihar area on Thursday afternoon following heavy rain and waterlogging, police to Delhi Police, the incident took place at around 4.45 pm. The wall that collapsed belonged to the Delhi Development Authority (DDA).The victims, aged 9 and 10, were the residents of Madhubani and Begusarai of Bihar, respectively. They were rescued from the debris and rushed to AIIMS Trauma Centre in PCR vans, where doctors declared them Preliminary enquiry revealed that the children were sitting on the stairs alongside the wall when it collapsed. Noida Police has made extensive security arrangements throughout the city in preparation for India's 79th Independence Day on 15th August. There is a strong deployment of security personnel, with special focus being placed in areas that border Delhi and other vulnerable areas. Heightened Vigil And Surveillance More than 1,400 civilian police officers have been put on duty across Noida to keep a round-the-clock vigil. Drone cameras are also being used for surveillance of sensitive points and along the Delhi border for an eye in the sky to boost security. A special team has been constituted to monitor social media sites actively. This team will quickly act against those trying to disturb public peace or propagate misinformation online. Traffic Diversions And Real-Time Monitoring In order to facilitate the free flow of traffic, diversions have been introduced throughout Noida and Greater Noida. The Police Control Room is carrying out real-time monitoring through CCTV and Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS) cameras. Apart from that, checking operations are being carried out with dog squads to detect suspicious persons and vehicles. Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh has confirmed that traffic diversions are in place at the Noida-Delhi border, and traffic is being diverted through the Eastern Peripheral Expressway. The Delhi Police has also made special arrangements to handle the expected boost in traffic towards Mathura because of the joint festivities of Independence Day and Janmashtami. In addition, three anti-drone stations have been deployed along the Delhi border to neutralize any unapproved drone operation. Foot and mobile patrolling is also being carried out in cluster areas, complemented by round-the-clock drone surveillance that is directly connected to the central command room for complete security coverage.
