Quebec music legend Serge Fiori passed away on Tuesday, Noovo Info reported.
He was 73.
According to the newspaper L'Étoile du Lac, the singer-songwriter was found dead at his home in Saint-Henri-de-Taillon, in Lac-Saint-Jean.
The Quebec artist of Italian origin will forever be remembered as the singer of the legendary band Harmonium, which captivated the province in the 1970s.
Fiori leaves behind a legacy of timeless works in Quebec, including Pour un instant, Un musicien parmi tant d'autres, and 100 000 raisons.

Barrie expands Canada Day celebrations to various parks with family-focused fun
The City of Barrie is gearing up to celebrate Canada Day in style, with a series of free family-focused events at several locations. At the heart of the celebrations is Canada Day 'On The Move,' happening on Tuesday with family-friendly activities at Lampman Lane Park on Lampman Lane from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Painswick Park on Ashford Drive from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., and that's in addition to festivities at Centennial Park taking place from noon to 10 p.m. 'Canada Day is a special occasion for us in Barrie to come together and celebrate the values that make our city and country strong, such as hard work, freedom, and community,' said Mayor Alex Nuttall. The Canada Day 'On The Move' event will feature a range of activities, including a reptile show from Scales Nature Park, face painting, busker performances, interactive games, and inflatables. Centennial Park will have food trucks, entertainment, and a performance by the Ultimutts Animal Actors Show, plus a Moonwalk Entertainment Family Zone. The festivities will culminate in a fireworks show at roughly 10 p.m. In case of inclement weather, the City will push the fireworks to Wednesday, July 2. In addition to the park events, Open Air Dunlop, presented by the Downtown Barrie BIA, will take place in Meridian Place, with activities, vendors, and live entertainment. Dunlop Street will be closed to vehicles for the festivities. Barrie Transit will run on an extended Sunday service schedule on Tuesday, with the last buses leaving the Transit Terminal after the fireworks display.

The Quebec government is open to holding a state funeral for singer-songwriter Serge Fiori, if that is the wish of the artist's family. Premier François Legault made the announcement in a social media post Wednesday, the day after the death of the founder of the band Harmonium. 'Serge Fiori was a giant of our music who touched the hearts of several generations of Quebecers. To honour his memory, the Quebec government is open, if that is the wish of the family, to holding a state funeral. His passing, on Quebec's national holiday, sparked a wave of tributes from politicians and artists. Fiori's musical career truly took off in 1974 with the release of the self-titled album Harmonium. The song Pour un instant is now a classic of Quebec music. The group would only release two more albums — Si on avait besoin d'une cinque saison and L'Heptade —before disbanding, leaving a lasting mark on Quebec's cultural universe.

98 Degrees, The Commodores added to lineup for CNE concert series
The Canadian National Exhibition has revealed its final lineup of headliners for its free nightly concert series, adding iconic boy-band 98 Degrees and Motown group The Commodores to the list of headliners. The concert series kicks off Aug. 15 as part of the annual fair, with a performance from Shawn Desman at the Bell CNE Bandshell. The 146-year-old event held at Exhibition Place features rides, whacky carnival foods, shows and exhibitions over 18 days. Other headliners include Loverboy, July Talk, Bishop Briggs, Dean Brody, and Marianas Trench. The series wraps up on August 31 with a Soca Night concert featuring a variety of performers from Trinidad and Tobago.
