Brittany Mahomes sends Taylor Swift a message over viral quote from Travis Kelce podcast appearance

Daily Maila day ago
Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes' at times rocky friendship appears stronger than ever after the singer's New Heights podcast appearance this week.
This time last year, the brand new besties appeared to suddenly be at odds after Mahomes endorsed Donald Trump in the upcoming election while Swift, who has a long-running feud with Trump, backed Kamala Harris.
But earlier this week, as excitement reached fever pitch about Swift joining Travis and Jason Kelce on New Heights, Patrick Mahomes revealed the singer facetimed his wife after finishing recording the show.
And her appearance clearly went down well with Brittany, who shared on Instagram what has become a viral quote from Swift when she said on the show: 'Think of your energy as if it's expensive, as if it's a luxury item.
'Not everyone can afford it. Not everyone has invested in you in order to be able for you have the capital to care about this.'
Mahomes reposted the clip on Friday morning and wrote, with three applauding emojis: 'That. Is. The. Day.'

Swift also announced her new album on the podcast, with he 12th record 'The Life of a Showgirl' released October 3.
Three-time Super Bowl winnner Patrick revealed Wednesday he had an early heads-up that Swift was finally appearing on the show, telling reporters at practice: I knew before y'all did just because they called me after the podcast was done.'
He jokingly corrected himself, adding: 'They didn't call me, they called Brittany. I was in the back of the FaceTime.'
Soon enough, Mahomes and Swift will be reunited at Arrowhead Stadium once the Kansas City Chiefs start the new NFL season.
The Chiefs play their first game in Sao Paulo, Brazil against the Los Angeles Chargers on Friday, September 5.
In Week 2, it's a Super Bowl rematch against the Philadelphia Eagles at Arrowhead in what is a difficult start for Kelce and Mahomes. They also meet Baltimore Ravens, Detroit Lions, Washington Commanders and Buffalo Bills by November 2.
Earlier this week, Chiefs quarterback Patrick made some eye-opening quotes about Brittany giving birth to their third child, Golden Raye, back in January.
'Brittany crushed it. I was watching playoff games the entire day. She went to labor after one game,' Patrick Mahomes recalled in a clip of 'The Kingdom' which aired on the latest episode of 'Good Morning America.'
'Baby was here before the next game, so I didn't even miss a playoff game. So, she is as locked in as I am as far as football goes.'

Chili's is back, thanks to its viral mozzarella sticks: Once-flailing chain is building new restaurants again

Chili's is good now, apparently! Not that Chili's was ever bad. The restaurant enjoyed — or perhaps was burdened with — the image of a reliable, though not remarkable, casual dining spot. Good in a pinch, but not necessarily an outing you'd mark on a calendar. Now, the restaurant chain is reportedly on the rise, thanks largely due to huge dollars poured into its marketing budget, viral sucess and the simplification of its menu. It topped its revenue and profit estimates for its fiscal fourth quarter, according to Kevin Hochman, the CEO of its parent company, Brinker. He made the comments during an earnings call on Wednesday, Business Insider reports. "Chili's is officially back, baby back," Hochman said, throwing back to the ever-present "baby back ribs" commercials of the mid-to-late 1990's. Hochman said the chain's recent successes — its comparable restaurant sales grew by 24 percent, which was two percent over analyst's expectations, and Brinker's overall revenue hit $1.46 billion — are thanks in part to a revamped menu that focuses on fewer, better offerings that still keep in line with the brand's imaging. He noted that the return of the chain's famous ribs was a win with customers. "Customers are raving about the look, the size, and the taste of the ribs," Hochman said. "It's clear we have a winning product with our new ribs, and our intent now is to use them to drive traffic." Brinker has only been steering the Chili's ship for three years, and it appears its marketing strategies are paying off. The restaurant went viral on TikTok thanks to videos showing off the stretchiness of its new mozzarella sticks. The videos pulled in more than 200 million views on the platform. The restaurants' "Triple Dipper" appetizer platter — which includes the cheese sticks — has become the hot item to have for the Chili's converts and faithful. Chili's recent successes are such that the chain is looking to open new locations and revamp old ones — starting with a quartet of Dallas storefronts — to align with its new image, according to Bloomberg. 'I can't tell you how much of a surprise Chili's performance has been within the industry,' Jonathan Maze, the editor-in-chief of Restaurant Magazine, told Slate. He said the chain's turnaround was "shocking." Hochman isn't necessarily surprised as he knows how much money went into the marketing revamp; according to the CEO, Chili's marketing budget was boosted from $32 million in FY 2022 to $137 million in 2025. "We are a much different Chili's today than we were three years ago," Hochman said.

Rare Kobe Bryant-Michael Jordan card 'expected to sell for over $6million' at auction

A rare card featuring the signatures of NBA legends Michael Jordan and the late Kobe Bryant is expected to fetch over $6 million at auction. The highly coveted card - from the 2007-08 Upper Deck Exquisite Collection - is currently up for grabs through Heritage Auctions. As of Saturday morning, bidding had already soared past $5 million, with auction experts predicting a final sale price north of $6.1 million. What makes the card so valuable? It's the only card ever produced that includes both Jordan's and Bryant's autographs, alongside dual NBA Logoman patches. There is one in the traditional red, white, and blue for Bryant, and a gold and white variation for Jordan. According to TMZ, Chris Ivy, Heritage's Director of Sports Auctions said: 'This Dual Logoman card offered in this auction is the only example created that includes only Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant. 'That makes it the most sought-after example of the incredible Upper Deck Logoman series, and because of Kobe Bryant's tragic death in 2020, it always will be the only one.' The card is part of Heritage's Summer Platinum Night Sports Auction, which runs from August 23 to 24. If it sells as expected, it will become the most expensive basketball card ever sold at public auction. According to Ivy, the card's consignor has already fielded multiple seven-figure private offers, but opted to place it in public auction. 'We're confident that it could, and most likely will, establish a new world record when the final bid is placed,' Ivy told TMZ. If the Jordan–Bryant Dual Logoman card hits its expected price, it will surpass the most valuable basketball cards ever sold - including those of Stephen Curry and LeBron James. In July 2021, a Stephen Curry 2009-10 Panini National Treasures Rookie Logoman Autograph card - serial numbered 1-of-1 - sold in a private sale for an astounding $5.9 million. Earlier that same year, a LeBron James 2003-04 Upper Deck Exquisite Collection Rookie Patch Autograph #78 sold for $5.2 million in a private sale. Now, with bidding on the Jordan–Bryant Logoman card climbing, it appears poised to take the top spot and cement its place as the most valuable basketball card ever. Understandably so, given that both players featured on the card are titans of the sport. Michael Jordan, a six-time NBA champion and five-time MVP with the Chicago Bulls, retired in 1993 before returning to the league twice more, ultimately ending his career in 2003 after two seasons with the Washington Wizards. Kobe Bryant, widely regarded as one of the greatest players in basketball history, spent his entire 20-season career with the Los Angeles Lakers, winning five NBA championships. He tragically passed away in a 2020 helicopter crash in Calabasas, California, alongside his daughter Gianna and seven others. With the world watching and bidding still underway, this extraordinary piece of basketball memorabilia is poised to make history - just like the two legends it honors.
