Dame Prue Leith has opened up about wanting to make the most of life, as she is more aware of her own mortality after entering her eighth decade.
Over the years, Dame Prue has become one of the most respected names in the culinary world, having begun her journey in the industry at the world-famous Cordon Bleu Cookery School back when she was just 20-years-old.
After honing her skills at the renowned cookery school, Dame Prue took her first steps in the industry as she opened her debut restaurant, Leith's, in Notting Hill, London.

Keen to have as much "fun" as possible in the time that she has left, Great British Bake Off fans will have noticed Prue's absence from the latest instalment of the celebrity version of the show earlier this year.
And, at the time, the star explained her decision, hinting at the tightly packed schedule possibly being one of her main reasons for stepping back, sharing: "It's mainly because these things are filmed back to back."
She added: "The whole way through the summer, so you start in April and you end at the end of August. Honestly, you get no time off. And, I'm getting a bit old and there's places I want to go."

Hundreds of Kate Bush fans gather Scots city park to recreate Wuthering Heights dance
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) HUNDREDS of Kate Bush fans flocked to a park in a Scottish city to recreate the star's Wuthering Heights music video. Fans of the music legend gathered at the Meadows Festival yesterday to celebrate the 1978 song. The first event was held twelve years ago in Brighton when British performance group Shambush came up with the idea in 2013. And this year, people came together to recreate the dance in the song's iconic video in Scotland's capital city. Music fans of all ages dressed in gorgeous, bright red dresses similar to the one that Kate wore in the original video. And many beamed as they were taught the same dance moves while music played in the background. Many women wore long red dresses with black belts, and little girls wore matching outfits and red jumpers with red hairpieces. Some men were even spotted wearing red dresses as well as they got in on the action. The event started at 4pm, giving performers time to get checked in, fix their outfits and collect merchandise before a welcome at 4.30pm. A warm-up then started at 4.35pm before the dance was taught ten minutes later. After a quick water break, the dance started at 5.10pm and attendees performed it twice before posing for a group photo. Strictly legends return to the stage for new tour after huge endorsement from show judge A website was set up ahead of the event, sharing all the details for those who wished to attend. It read: "Welcome to The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever – Edinburgh 2025! "Get ready to dress up in your best red dress and join us for a fun-filled afternoon of dancing and celebrating the iconic music video by Kate Bush. "The event will take place on Saturday, June 7, at 4.30pm as part of the programme at the Meadows Festival. INSTANTLY CAPITVATED KATE Bush wrote her chart-topping song Wuthering Heights whe she was just 18 years old. The hit song was her debut single and became an unexpected number one hit almost 50 years ago back in 1978. It was actually the first song that was written and performed by a female artist to reach the UK top spot. Despite the song being named after Emily Brontë's novel, it wasn't the book itself that inspired Kate, now 66, to write the song. In an interview in 1978, she told the BBC that the broadcaster's 1967 TV series of the story is what gave her the idea. Kate explained that she came across an episode of the telly adaptation and was blown away by it's startling imagery. At the time, she said: "I just managed to catch the very last few minutes where there was a hand coming through the window and blood everywhere and glass. "And I just didn't know what was going on, and someone explained the story." "Let's come together as a community and recreate the magic of the Wuthering Heights dance. "Don't miss out on this unforgettable experience!" Pictures and videos of the event have been widely shared on social media, and many flocked to the comments to praise the dancers. One person said: "Wish I was there... great!" Another added: "Omg, I wish I'd been there!" Someone else wrote: "Love it! Well done". And a fourth posted: "That's pretty cool!" While a fifth chimed in: "Wow, this looks fabulous! Well done".

Carlos Alcaraz's huge net worth, split from tennis star and Emma Raducanu rumours
Carlos Alcaraz's huge net worth, split from tennis star and Emma Raducanu rumours Carlos Alcaraz has become one of the biggest stars in tennis since bursting onto the scene, and the Spaniard's personal life has also been the subject of much interest Carlos Alcaraz walks past Emma Raducanu (Image: Tim Clayton/Corbis via Getty Images ) Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner face off in the French Open final at Roland Garros this afternoon. This will be the first time the dominant pair have met in a Grand Slam final and the rivalry between them has been bubbling away since they were teenagers. 'He's a player who makes me a better player,' said Sinner on Friday. 'He pushes me to the limit. We try to understand where we have to improve for the next time I play against him.' A new era in tennis appears to be taking shape, with 38-year-old Novak Djokovic saying of the pair: "They're definitely great for tennis, both of them. "I think their rivalry is something that our sport needs, no doubt. The way they are playing and approaching tennis life, I think they are going to have very successful careers in the next years. "I'm sure that we're going to see them lifting the big trophies quite often." Article continues below Alcaraz, a two-time Wimbledon champion with a net worth reportedly of £35.6million, said of Sinner: "He's the best tennis player right now. I mean, he's destroying every opponent." As is often the case with sports stars of his calibre, Alcaraz's on-court exploits have sparked curiosity about his personal life. The Spanish player's relationships have come under scrutiny, particularly following his second Wimbledon victory last year. Indeed, after securing his latest Wimbledon title, questions arose about his relationship with fellow tennis sensation Emma Raducanu, who was present at Centre Court to witness his win. However, with no indications of a romantic involvement between them, Alcaraz found amusement in the speculative rumours suggesting they were an item. When queried about why the British star attended his match, he responded: "I don't know, I don't know. I think a lot of people came to see the final. I think Novak and I always put on a good game, a show on the court. "I think it is a beautiful game to watch. And she is from here, so I imagine that she wanted to come and see it. If there was a Grand Slam in Murcia [his home town] I would 100 per cent go to the final, even if I wasn't playing." Nonetheless, Alcaraz playfully hinted: "I don't know if she came to the finals or if she came to see me. Who knows? You have to ask her, but I hope she enjoyed the final." While he gently ribbed about the gossip linking him and Raducanu, Alcaraz has in the past been romantically involved with another female tennis player. It's reported that he was seeing Maria Gonzalez Gimenez, hailing from Murcia Tennis Club, who's competed in Spanish Masters and ATP Challenger events. The specifics of when they were together remain a bit murky; however, Maria - who besides her tennis career is studying law at the University of Murcia - is believed to have been connected with Alcaraz for a considerable period before their separation. A shot of them in a cosy embrace had made its way onto his Instagram story, as noted by Tennis Tonic. Yet, leading up to last year's Wimbledon, in conversation with The Times, the Spanish ace disclosed he was presently without a partner. When asked about his romantic life, he clarified: "No, I am single. I am looking for someone." Hinting at the reasons behind his split with Maria, he commented: "It can be difficult as a tennis player to meet the right person because you are travelling all the time." Alcaraz has also been rumoured to have had a relationship with Spanish singer Ana Mena. The 27-year-old songstress, who rose to fame on Disney's musical reality show My Camp Rock 2 when she was just 13, is said to have dated the tennis sensation for approximately two months in 2022, as reported by several Spanish media outlets - though neither party has publicly confirmed this. Alcaraz has various lucrative sponsorship deals, with his 10-year deal with sports brand Nike allegedly worth between £12million and £15.8million per year. Great British Bake Off's Prue Leith addresses future on show after 'planning to quit'
The Great British Bake Off's Prue Leith has spoken out about her future on the show, after admitting that she threatened to quit the Bake Off universe entirely Dame Prue Leith considered her departure from the Great British Bake Off empire due to its demanding nature but opted to remain in parts of it after a pivotal chat with Love Productions. Alongside The Great British Bake Off are various spin-offs such as the celebrity edition, Junior Bake Off, and the Great American Baking Show, which Prue found intense, prompting thoughts of stepping down entirely at 85-years-old. On the Spooning with Mark Wogan podcast, she spoke about the impact of her non-stop schedule since joining the hit Channel 4 series. She said: "What happened was I thought I've got to have a summer holiday. This is ridiculous, I've been working from April to September without a break for eight years. "At that point it was for seven years. So, I went to the bosses, 'I'm going to quit. I can't do this anymore'. And it hadn't occurred to me to say, 'Can I quit some of it?'. "I just thought I had to do it all which was, at the time, Celebrity Bake Off, Great British Bake Off, Great American Baking Show, which is the same thing, and I had been doing junior bake off." The response was a pleasant surprise to Prue, who acknowledged how amenable the producers were when she broached the subject. She revealed: "And they said 'Why don't you just quit enough to get the summer holiday you want?' And I said 'Can I do that?' and they said 'Yeah, why don't you choose one that you don't want to do?' "On the new schedule I'd like to stay for a while. I want to go before I'm pushed. I don't want some poor executive to be told to tell me." Rumours about her future on the show have circulated before, and Prue has previously addressed them. Earlier this year, there were reports that Prue's friend, Caroline Waldegrave OBE, would replace her on a celebrity version of Bake Off, the Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer. In an interview with the Independent, Prue shared her feelings about the show. She said: "I absolutely love working on Bake Off and am looking forward to filming the next series and meeting our new bakers. "I am only stepping back from the Celebrity series, which is just a question of the filming commitment involved as we make these shows back to back."
