‘Monster' Season 4 About Lizzie Borden In Works At Netflix From Ryan Murphy & Ian Brennan

The Borden murders and trial received extensive nationwide publicity in the U.S. and have remained part of American popular culture in the decades since. Lizzie Borden has been depicted in numerous film, television and theater adaptations, most recently in Lifetime's The Lizzie Borden Chronicles starring Christina Ricci, and the 2018 feature film Lizzie starring Chloë Sevigny and Kristen Stewart.
That was also the case with the second Monster installment, Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story. The tale of the famous Menendez murders had already been told on-screen many times but it was Murphy and Brennan's take that captured the public's attention and triggered a reexamining of the brothers' conviction.
The franchise launched with Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, which remains a Top 5 most popular Netflix English-language series of all time. Murphy announced the upcoming third installment, The Original Monster, starring Charlie Hunnam as Ed Gein, at the premiere of The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.

Netflix's ‘Splinter Cell: Deathwatch' Brings Sam Fisher Out of Retirement
Fans of stealth video games likely have a soft spot in their hearts for Splinter Cell. Ubisoft's sub-series of stealth-action games endorsed by Tom Clancy has been MIA for over a decade, even with a remake of the original game on the horizon. After doing guest roles in other Clancy games and in Netflix's Far Cry anime, series lead Sam Fisher is back in all his shadowy glory in Splinter Cell: Deathwatch. Netflix's panel at this year's Anime NYC convention brought on a string of announcements and sneak peeks at its upcoming anime slate, including drops for the new season of the Emmy-award-winning series, Blue Eye Samurai. Dante and Vergil Meet Again in ‘Devil May Cry' Season 2 Teaser
With the rift machine destroyed in Devil May Cry season one, thanks to Dante (Johnny Yong Bosch), the demon hunter's down-on-his-luck fate appeared to be turning around after being humanity's salvation. That was, of course, until the shocking reveal that his brother was still alive. The latest teaser for the Adi Shankar and Netflix animated series drops more surprises for season two. Dante's brother, Vergil (Robbie Daymond), is back, and this time he's working with the demons after the defeat of the White Rabbit terrorist organization. While Dante is frozen, Vergil wreaks havoc on America for nuking the Demonworld, which sets the stage for quite the family reunion. The way battles lay waste to both the demon and human worlds seems never-ending as Dante returns to the fray with raised familial stakes. The trailer shows the long-coated and dramatic exchange comes to a clash of weapons of blood versus blood. As their brotherhood stands diametrically opposed as foes, the story from the Capcom game you thought you knew might be reimagined in a new thrilling way when it returns in 2026. At least that's Shankar's hope, as he recently told Deadline, 'I approached this as a new continuity. So, it's not a remake, it's not a rehash, but in some ways it's closer to a retelling. And that's the thing I do across all my stuff. If you watch even the short films on YouTube, it's always like there's the IP and then there's the Adi Shankar spin on the IP. I wanted my show to feel like Devil May Cry, to take the spirit of DMC, but I thought of it as like Marvel's Ultimate Universe, or even X-Men: The Animated Series, like reinterpretations that preserve the emotional core while restructuring the mythology to suit a new medium. Essentially the foundation remains, but the scaffolding has been rebuilt to support long-form storytelling in a serialized, animated format for streaming television.' Shankar continued, 'It's a new universe, but it is one constructed from a complete obsessive understanding of canon, right? Both the public-facing story and the deeper internal mythology that's only known to Capcom, because you get access to all of that and just kind of absorb it even more. And you become even more of a super fan because you've gotten to peek behind the curtain. So, then, my job as creator-showrunner is franchise architect for the DMC universe on Netflix. It's to essentially take the full spectrum of knowledge and build something that respects the past while unlocking new narrative possibilities.'
