Fèis Ìle is Islay's renowned whisky, culture and music festival, and runs this year from the 23 May until 31 May.
Each of the nine Islay distilleries have their own festival day which can include tours, tastings and live music.
Here we take a look at what festival bottlings are on offer and how you can snap up a bottle.
Lagavulin
This year, Lagavulin is inviting fans to discover new depths of flavour with Lagavulin Fèis Ìle 2025 15 Year-Old.
Finished in Moscatel de Málaga casks, this expression showcases a masterful balance of sweet and spicy notes while retaining Lagavulin's distinctive smokiness.
This rich and complex bottling offers aromas of salted toffee, and ripe berries, interwoven with maritime medicinal undertones.
The palate is luxuriously smooth and creamy, harmonising flavours of sweetness, salt, spice, and smoke. It culminates in a long, drying finish with that lingering fragrant Lagavulin smoke and a captivating note of Sichuan pepper spice.
Lagavulin Fèis Ìle 2025 15 Year-Old is bottled at 55.7% ABV, with an RRSP of £240, available to be purchased from the distillery and malts.com. There will be a total of 1,596 bottles.
Caol Ila
In a bold new move, Caol Ila is introducing an exciting new dimension of flavour with Caol Ila Fèis Ìle 2025 8 Year-Old.
This whisky has been matured in a unique combination of refill casks and Pedro Ximénez /Oloroso-seasoned casks, before being finished in new Colombian Oak casks.
The result is a burst of bold yet harmonious flavours. As whisky expert Charles MacLean puts it, 'even at reduced strength, the taste is intense!'. T
his release explores Caol Ila's waxy character, delivering an intensely smooth, oily texture and a richer, unexpectedly sweet profile emerging from the Colombian Oak cask finish. The whisky's complex smoke is amplified by layers of spice notes and peppery warmth.
Caol Ila Fèis Ìle 2025 8 Year-Old is bottled at 55.8% ABV, with an RRSP of £110, available to be purchased from the distillery and malts.com. There will be a total of 1,476 bottles.
Laphroaig
Laphroaig will welcome Friends of Laphroaig and whisky lovers from around the world to the distillery on Tuesday 27 May for Laphroaig Open Day.
Guests can expect a full day of festivities that capture the spirit of the distillery and its island home – from traditional music and dancing to the warmth of peat fires and the unmistakable aroma of Laphroaig's signature smoky whisky.
Laphroaig will mark Fèis Ìle 2025 with its latest Càirdeas expression, Lore Cask Strength – a bold, richly layered single malt that completes our series of cask strength versions of well-known Laphroaig whiskies.
With Càirdeas meaning 'friendship' in Gaelic, this release allows Friends of Laphroaig to discover exciting expressions matured in creative casks, and new twists to the iconic Islay Single Malt.
Crafted as a marriage of five of Laphroaig's favourite cask types - including ex-Bourbon, Oloroso sherry, European oak, and quarter casks - this expression is non-chill filtered and bottled at natural cask strength, delivering the distillery's most intense flavour profile yet.
On the nose, the whisky is sweet, herbal and boldly peaty, with a fruity expression opening with aromas of apricot, peaches in syrup, lemon cream, coconut and vanilla fudge.
The palate delivers an explosion of peat and salty sea spray, followed by lemon zest, salted limes, caramel, and herbal notes of mint and tea leaves. Delicate spices like cumin, cloves and ginger emerge, leading to a long, citrus-sweet finish with an enduring phenolic character that defines Laphroaig.
Laphroaig Càirdeas Lore Cask Strength SRP is £89 and is on sale exclusively from the distillery shop from Saturday 24 May.
Bowmore
Bowmore will open the gates to Islay's oldest licensed distillery on Wednesday 28th May for Bowmore Open Day.
Set against the stunning backdrop of Loch Indaal, the distillery will come alive with exclusive tastings and experiences, each designed to showcase the craftsmanship behind their whisky.
To celebrate this year's festival, Bowmore is proud to unveil an exclusive Fèis Ìle release – a 100% floor-malted single cask bottling. The Bowmore Fèis Ìle 2025 exclusive embodies Bowmore's commitment to quality, innovation and its time-honoured whisky-making tradition.
Crafted with intent, and filled entirely by hand in the No. 1 Vaults, this captivating single malt reflects Bowmore's long-standing artisanal philosophy. On the nose, it is intense and spicy with blackcurrant, liquorice root, leather, and peat smoke.
The palate is sweet and oily, with floral notes, charred orange rind, black cherry, with a long, lingering, almost chewy finish.
Bowmore Fèis Ìle 2025 exclusive SRP is £120 and is on sale from the Bowmore distillery from Wednesday 28 May.
Jura
Jura Whisky is selling a new single cask release to celebrate this year's Fèis Ìle Festival.
On 30 May Jura will be welcoming whisky lovers to its beachside distillery, with tours of the distillery on offer as well as tastings, live music, cocktails and boat tours exploring Jura's beautiful coastline.
To mark the 2025 festival, a very special expression will be released limited to just 300 bottles, exclusively available to the whisky-lovers who visit Jura in-person during Fèis Ìle.
Joe Ricketts, whisky maker, explained: 'For this year's Fèis Ìle single cask release we've revisited a standout 2007 vintage parcel. In 2022 the whisky making and distillery teams selected #1892, a bold, rich oloroso butt which explored a different side to Jura's distillery character.
'With an additional three years maturation, #1895 builds on the complexity of our 2022 Fèis Ìle release, with notes of crystallised citrus, prune and hazelnut together with hints of polished leather and dark chocolate from its full-course Sherry maturation.'
This whisky is available exclusively at the Jura distillery between 23 May and 31 May 2025 with an RSP of £135.
Ardbeg
Marking 25 years of the Ardbeg Committee, this year's festivities on Saturday 31 May are, the team say, set to be out of this world.
At the distillery and across the globe, Ardbeg will transport smoky malt lovers' taste-buds to a fruity new dimension, with Ardbeg Smokiverse, the limited edition whisky released for the festival.
This limited edition will be the Islay distillery's first whisky crafted from a high-gravity mash, resulting in a distinctly vibrant, tropical and fruity spirit.
This unconventional 'high-gravity' mash magnified the intensity of flavour-active compounds known as acetate esters, leading to a fruitier, more tropical spirit.
Aged in bourbon casks, this Ardbeg whisky unveils layers of muscovado sugar, ripe barley, and toasted sourdough bread, all culminating in a burst of ripe tropical fruits and sweet peat.
Ardbeg Smokiverse will be available to buy worldwide from Ardbeg Embassies, whisky specialists, online retailers, the Distillery Visitor Centre on Islay, and on Ardbeg.com from 28 May.

Assembly Rooms, 10.10am, until 24 AugustThe old man who sits at the centre of this imaginative blend of object theatre and shadow puppetry from Taiwan's S Production is the cantankerous sort, tied to his routine and resistant to change. His day is an uneventful parade of tasks: teeth brushing, newspaper reading and failing to put his socks on. It is much to his surprise that he wakes to find the room tidy and his secret box of memories moved. And it is much to his consternation that a boy appears from another box, unruly, undomesticated and curious. It is that very curiosity that unlocks the old man's backstory and rejuvenates him. Inside the secret box, the boy finds evidence of a perilous biplane crash over wartime seas and a drowning pilot rescued by a whale. By my reckoning that would make the old man about 125 years old, which would also account for the old-fashioned Boy's Own Adventure focus of the show. It is easy to put that aside, however, when mischievous humour and visual inventiveness abounds, whether it is paper planes floating overhead, deathly waves inundating the stage or the enormous blue whale swelling to the full height of the walls around us. Pleasance Courtyard, 10am and 11am, until 25 AugustI usually take the post-show play session as my cue to leave, but this one is delightful. We have just watched Tamsin Fessey perform a hypnotic dance, aimed at 6-24-month-olds, from inside a colourful tube. Hidden within, she rolls and stretches, giving life to this wriggly creature and making a face of the orange hoop at one end. Tuning in to the priorities of the young audience, she is variously shy, inquisitive, hungry and sick. She dances when the music demands it and sighs when it stops. She plays games with the springy containers around her and discovers enticing silvery balls inside. This toooB seems to have a life of her own until, slowly in this wordless production by Angel Exit, attractively designed by Verity Quinn, we spot the performer within: a foot, a hand, a cautious eye. And with her emergence, it is time for the audience to join in: new balls and tubes appearing around us to create an infant adventure playground, full of tactile wonder. Pleasance Courtyard, 12pm, until 24 AugustIt sounds like a joke. Take a famously impenetrable classic of world literature, a stream-of-consciousness Dublin odyssey stretching to 250,000 words, and turn it into a show for the over-eights. But Helen Gregg is for real and her adaptation of James Joyce's Ulysses is a joy. Introducing a book that few of the adults in the audience will have read, she strips it down to its narrative framework, judiciously editing for family viewing, and turns it into 45 minutes of day-in-the-life storytelling. Leafing through enormous pop-up books – three of them, just like the sections of the original – she traces the comings and goings of a cut-out Leopold Bloom and Stephen Daedalus, flanked by a city's worth of quirky characters, from funeral to office to pub. In Marc Mac Lochlainn's production for Galway company Branar, it is performed with wit and lucidity, not to mention musical interludes. Gregg is a brilliant interpreter and makes an imposing novel sound like a fun thing to tackle at home. Assembly George Square, 11.30am, until 17 AugustHard to imagine a more gentle introduction to theatre than this sensory performance for babies, written by Jasmine Cole and directed by Connie Crosby. Narrated by Hannah Platts and performed on a large floorcloth over which the audience can roam, it is set in a garden where the leaves are tactile, the mushrooms rattle and the pond is made of silver foil. A bee buzzes by as the children acclimatise, then it is time for the big reveal: a sequence of cloth puppet birds, manipulated by Jennie Rawling, introduced with birdsong and welcomed with a pretty human song. Things get no more dramatic than when the starling imitates a cow and a tractor and, as the lights dim, a night owl soars overhead with stars shining through its wings. The stakes might be low, but is pitched perfectly at a mesmerised audience. Assembly Roxy, 11.25am, until 17 AugustFeather Boy and Tentacle Girl are opposites. One lives in the city; one in the country. One is rough; the other smooth. One sunny; one sour. But although theirs is a relationship of contradictions, they find a way to connect. They do this through the mutual dependency of acrobatics, balancing high above the stage, moving in careful synchronisation. In this aerial show for the over-eights by circus artists Vee Smith and Sadiq Ali working with Catherine Wheels theatre company, it is as if the two have been let loose in an outsize play park, mocking gravity as they hang upside down, spin precariously or plummet to the ocean depths. Narratively light and open to interpretation, it reaches a climax with a spectacular storm of red and white feathers on Jen McGinley's set, swirling in windy chaos.

Yankees legends Mariano Rivera, Jorge Posada and more will return for the decade's first Old-Timers' Day
Break out the pinstripes and polish those cleats: Old-Timers' Day is back at Yankee Stadium and it's bringing the Bronx Bombers' glory days with it. On Saturday, August 9, the Yankees will host their 77th Old-Timers' Day, marking the first full-scale return of the on-field alumni game since 2019. The midday event—complete with tributes, player introductions and a few innings of hardball—will honor the 25th anniversary of the Yankees' 2000 World Series win over the Mets. Fans can expect a stacked lineup of legends from that championship squad. Hall of Famer Mariano Rivera, catcher Jorge Posada, lefty ace Andy Pettitte and other fan favorites like David Cone, Tino Martinez and 'El Duque' Orlando Hernández will all suit up once more. The roster even includes some first timers to the event: Roger Clemens, David Justice, Alfonso Soriano and José Vizcaíno are making their Old-Timers' Day debuts. In total, more than 40 former Yankees will take the field, including Monument Park inductees like Paul O'Neill, Ron Guidry, Bernie Williams, and manager Joe Torre. Ardbeg release The Beithir's Tale - the final whisky in Anthology series
Ardbeg Islay single malt whisky has unveiled an aromatic and creamy 15-year-old limited edition – the finale to its Anthology series of rare and strange single malts. Named after a mythological, serpent-like beast, Ardbeg Anthology: The Beithir's Tale is the distillery's first whisky matured in designer bourbon casks. Crafted to Ardbeg's particular specifications, these casks help create full-bodied flavours of smoked butter and vanilla which complement the whisky's classic notes of menthol and pine. Ardbeg Anthology is a trilogy of unusual single malts which cross classic Ardbeg with experimental stock to create sweeter, more delicate tones. Capturing the 'hybrid' characters of these whiskies, each malt's name and packaging are inspired by a different mythological creature said to have been glimpsed on Islay. The bad-tempered beithir may (or may not), have once slithered through an Ardbeg warehouse. Years ago, the distillery's whisky creators laid down a parcel of Ardbeg in designer bourbon casks, eager to explore their effects on its smoky, balanced spirit for the first time. Air-seasoned – rather than kiln-dried – then heavily toasted and lightly charred exactly as they asked, these bespoke casks promised to bring fuller, creamier flavours to Ardbeg. Matured for 15 years, the experiment has reached a sweet and aromatic peak. The Beithir's Tale overflows with these buttery notes, balanced by Ardbeg's hallmark smoky tones and sharp tangs of eucalyptus and pine. The Beithir's Tale completes the Anthology series, joining The Harpy's Tale – a 13-year-old marriage of classic Ardbeg with the distillery's first whisky matured in Sauternes sweet white wine casks – and The Unicorn's Tale, aged 14 years, which unites bourbon-matured Ardbeg with whisky wholly aged in Madeira wine casks. Master blender Gillian Macdonald said: 'We are always pushing the boundaries of Ardbeg to discover even more flavour combinations. The sweet and smoky 'hybrids' of Ardbeg Anthology are as experimental as they come. 'Created from whisky matured in our designer casks, The Beithir's Tale is the aromatic and sweet finale of our Anthology series. 'Named after a mythological, serpentine beast, this 15-year-old whisky invites notes of vanilla and smoked butter to slide through Ardbeg's classic aromatic flavours of peat smoke, fennel, eucalyptus and pine. Rather like the beithir, it is smooth and mysterious… with a smoky, menthol bite!' Ardbeg Anthology: The Beithir's Tale has been recognised with the Spirit Gold Outstanding 2025 award (98 points) at this year's International Wine & Spirits Competition and a gold medal at the International Spirits Challenge. Priced at £135 with an ABV of 46%, Ardbeg Anthology: The Beithir's Tale will be available for purchase at the Ardbeg website, in Ardbeg Embassies, at the distillery visitor centre on Islay and in selected whisky specialists.
