Season to date, Law & Order is averaging 5.1 million total viewers (with delayed playback), down 12% from last season. Out of the 11 dramas that NBC has aired this TV season, it ranks No. 5 (trailing only the #OneChicago trio and SVU).
SVU, meanwhile, is averaging 5.7 million total viewers (with delayed playback) season to date, down 17% from last season (now airing opposite the freshman hit Matlock). Out of the 11 dramas that NBC has aired this TV season, it ranks No. 4 (trailing only the #OneChicago trio).
When SVU returns for the new season, it will be down two detectives: Cast members Octavio Pisano (who has played Det. Joe Velasco since Season 23) and Juliana Aidén Martinez (who joined as Det. Kate Silva for the current 26th season) will not return as series regulars.
The staffing shake-up also affects the show behind the scenes: Michele Fazekas (Gen V) was tapped in April to serve as SVU's showrunner for the coming season. She'll replace David Graziano, who joined the show in 2022; Fazekas was previously a writer and producer on SVU in Seasons 4 through 7.

Seth Meyers mocks media frenzy over Biden 'cover-up,' says his age was 'worst-kept secret'

NBC "Late Night" host Seth Meyers mocked the idea of former President Joe Biden's declining health being a major political scandal, claiming it "was the worst cover-up in American history." Questions about Biden's health have resurfaced after the release of "Original Sin," a new book by CNN anchor Jake Tapper and Axios journalist Alex Thompson, which alleges that Biden's inner circle concealed the president's flailing health and cognitive decline for years, despite telling the public that he was mentally sharp and fit for office. Meyers ripped the media for paying attention to the Biden "cover-up" when, according to him, "The Trump Administration and Republicans in Congress are rapidly dismantling American civil society and turning the country into a reclusive oligarchy." "But I don't want to talk about any of that and neither does the media. We both want to talk about something way more important. Joe Biden is, and has been, for a while, very old," he said sarcastically. Credibility Crisis: Biden's Late-night Allies Go Quiet After Damning Cognitive Decline Revelations After playing a montage of figures calling the cover-up a media scandal, Meyers joked, "They're right. This is the biggest scandal in history, bigger than Watergate, bigger than Iran-Contra, bigger than the Teapot Dome Scandal." Read On The Fox News App The late-night host argued that the president's advanced age wasn't a secret and the majority of Americans were against him running for re-election in the 2024 campaign, believing him to be too old to serve again. "Now, you might be thinking to yourself, 'Wait, didn't everybody already know that Joe Biden was old?'" Meyers asked. "'Didn't poll after poll show that the vast majority of Americans, including a clear majority of Democrats, thought he was too old to run for reelection, and wanted someone else? Didn't he biff it so bad in the debate that his own party undertook an unprecedented effort to successfully force him out of the race?'" "'Weren't Democrats ultimately punished for Biden's disastrous choice to run again when they got their asses kicked in the November election?'" he continued. "'Didn't Seth play that clip of Biden falling up the stairs, like, 1,000 times?'" Jen Psaki Insists She 'Never Saw' Diminished Biden While Working As Press Secretary "This was on TV, everyone saw it," he said of Biden stumbling while walking up the stairs of Air Force One in 2021. "If this was a cover-up, if this was the worst [bleep] cover-up in American history. It was the worst-kept secret since Mika and Joe," he joked, referring to the relationship of "Morning Joe" co-hosts Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough who wed in 2018 after years of co-hosting the morning MSNBC show. "This was only like Watergate if the break-in had been live-streamed on Twitch," Meyers added. After poking fun at reports that Biden got lost in his closet in the White House, Meyers turned serious. "It was just a disastrous political choice. And the people who deserve criticism for that are Biden, the aides who convinced him and themselves that he should ignore reality and run again," he concluded. Credibility Crisis: White House Reporters Speak Out On Whether Biden's Mental Decline Was Deliberately Hidden Meyer's Monday night show appears to be the first time he referenced the Biden cover-up revelations from Tapper's book, according to Grabien transcripts. Meyer and fellow liberal late-night hosts Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel have all welcomed Biden for friendly interviews. Most recently, Biden was on "Late Night with Seth Meyers" in February 2024, just days after the release of Special Counsel Robert Hur's report. Hur was heavily attacked by the media at the time for calling Biden a "sympathetic, well-meaning elderly man with a poor memory" in his report. During his February 2024 interview of Biden, Meyers gently broached the subject of Biden's age before quickly moving on to other topics. Click Here For The Latest Media And Culture News After Hur's report was released a few days later, Meyers called the special counsel's comments a "gratuitous hypothetical" and stressed that Hur was a "Republican attorney" who "was originally appointed by Trump." "If that kind of language was appropriate in a legal finding, then prosecutors could have done the same thing to Trump," Meyers said before repeatedly drawing attention to President Donald Trump's mental article source: Seth Meyers mocks media frenzy over Biden 'cover-up,' says his age was 'worst-kept secret'

The Cleaning Lady Ends Season 4 on an Unresolved Note — Do You Want to See a Fifth Season?

The Cleaning Lady is still awaiting word on whether it will return to Fox for a fifth season — but in the meantime, Tuesday's Season 4 conclusion sure didn't feel like a series finale. On the contrary, Thony's got more unresolved mess to clean up than ever before. The season ender was a two-hour roller coaster for Thony, who began the episode in prison for Rex Blackley's murder, but ended it as a free woman with all charges against her dropped. In the middle, she a) survived multiple beatings from Ramona Sanchez and her cronies while incarcerated, b) snuck out of prison during a riot in which Ramona and several other inmates escaped, c) avoided getting buried alive by Ramona, thanks to a last-minute assist from Fiona, and d) was reunited with sweet Luca, despite Ramona's attempt to abduct both him and Violeta and raise them as her own children. And that's to say nothing of Thony's eventful few days in jail, which included everything from healing her cellmate's arthritis to giving an entire cell block food poisoning. Our girl's been busy. MobLand Finale Recap: The Harrigan Rat, Revealed! Plus: Grade the Episode Anyway, here's how it shook out in the end: * Just when Ramona planned to bury Thony alive and head off with Luca and Violeta in tow, Fiona arrived and thwacked Ramona in the head with a shovel, knocking her unconscious. Thony initially planned to finish the job by killing Ramona, calling it 'an act of compassion for the world,' but ultimately couldn't bring herself to do it. Instead, she tossed Ramona into the grave intended for herself, closed the lid, and covered the box with dirt. Thony later told Jorge that Ramona wouldn't be a problem 'ever again'… but in the closing moments, we saw Ramona regain consciousness underground, screaming as she realized she'd been buried. * Jorge lost control of the Sin Cara cartel, and he was replaced by the power-hungry Feng. Jorge and Violeta then boarded a private plane that would take them somewhere safe — a place where Jorge could also get 'what I need to crush Feng; I refuse to let him take Sin Cara away from me.' Jorge invited Thony and Luca to join him, but she insisted that she chose the cartel life, and she'll find a way to deal with Feng while Jorge's gone. * Before jetting off, Jorge gave Thony a small book of crucial information, which she was told to use as a bargaining chip with Joel Herman, now the new district attorney. ('It's what Joel needs to take down Sam Heller,' Jorge explained.) Thony did meet with Joel later on, but she gave the book of secrets to Feng instead — a record of 'dirty players and deals' kept by the former D.A., which Feng can now use to bribe and manipulate the appropriate people. In exchange for the book, Thony told Feng she wants to be made a full cartel associate. Meanwhile, in her meeting with Joel, Thony offered to make herself an informant for the D.A.'s office; she'll go back to the cartel, do her job, and report everything to Joel in order to help him prosecute a major corruption case against Sin Cara funder Sam Heller. In exchange, Joel would drop all charges against Thony and let her walk free. Both men appeared to agree to Thony's terms, but at the end of the finale, we found out what she really wants from these new arrangements. 'They all want to control me. But this puts me back in control,' she told Fiona. 'I'll let those men think that they own me, but I don't want to be a cartel associate. I don't want to be an informer. I want to take over Sin Cara.' Oh, Thony. With that, I hand it over to you. How do you feel about where left things? And are you hoping the show comes back for Season 5 after that finale? Drake Hogestyn's ‘Days of Our Lives' character killed off 8 months after actor's death

Like sands through the hourglass. 'Days of Our Lives' officially killed off Drake Hogestyn's character, John Black, on Monday. The emotional episode came eight months after Hogestyn passed away from pancreatic cancer at the age of 70 on September 28, 2024, and it saw Black flatline in a hospital with his wife, Dr. Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall), close by his side. 7 Drake Hogestyn as John Black and Deidre Hall as Marlena Evans on 'Days of Our Lives.' If you need to go, it's okay.' Black was injured in a lab explosion days before his death as he tried to help Steve (Stephen Nichols) discover a drug to save Bo (Peter Reckell). 'We will always hold you in our hearts. You can rest now.' 'It's still difficult to talk about because Drake touched everybody in his sphere so closely, and he was my brother and one of my best friends,' Reckell, 70, told TV Insider. 'Having his memorial, there was no acting required in those scenes, because you're saying things as the character that parallel your feelings in your personal relationship.' 'When I went to John's memorial and all these emotions came up, I just wanted to run away and be by myself and feel those feelings,' he added. 'To have to do it as a character was really difficult.' 7 'I know. I know,' Hall wrote on Instagram after the emotional episode aired. 'Hardest day ever.' Peacock The popular soap opera's executive producer, Ken Corday, previously revealed that John Black's death scene was a direct result of Hogestyn's real-life battle with pancreatic cancer. 'We love him and we will miss him all the Days of our Lives,' the statement concluded. Hogestyn joined 'Days of Our Lives' in 1986.
