The couple participated in a special puja at the Mutt, offered prayers and were seen feeding the temple cows with bananas along with Murthy. According to Srinath S, who handles operations at the temple, the visit was casual. The family also took part in the temple's rathothsava (chariot-pulling ceremony) and concluded their visit with a traditional temple lunch before departing.

Yashvir Sunak shared that although they've been to Mysuru several times before, this was their first visit to the Krishnamurthypuram branch of the Raghavendra Swamy Mutt, according to a report on the Star of Mysore. He added that they had earlier visited the renowned Raghavendra Swamy Mutt in Mantralaya. A video of their visit to the temple is making rounds on social media.

This comes after Rishi Sunak's visit to the Raghavendra Swamy Mutt in Bengaluru's Jayanagar in November 2024. He was accompanied by his wife, Akshata Murty, as well as her parents, NR Narayana Murthy and author-philanthropist Sudha Murthy.
Their visit coincided with the holy month of Kartika, considered highly auspicious in the Hindu calendar. Seeking the blessings of Guru Raghavendra Swamy, the family offered prayers and took part in the temple's rituals during their visit.

Centre okays renaming of UP's Jalalabad town as Parshurampuri
Bareilly: Ministry of home affairs (MHA) has given the nod for renaming Jalalabad town in UP's Shahjahanpur district as "Parshurampuri". According to Hindu mythology, Jalalabad is believed to be the birthplace of Bhagwan Parshuram, the sixth avatar of Lord Vishnu. The area is home to several ancient temples and sites of religious significance. According to sources, MHA had received a letter from UP chief secretary requesting it to approve the proposal to change the name of the town. In the notification, which came to fore on Wednesday, it was mentioned: "Following a letter from Uttar Pradesh govt dated June 27, 2025, and a recommendation from the ministry of science and technology on Aug 14, 2025, govt of India approved the name change and had no objection. Uttar Pradesh govt has been requested to issue the official Gazette notification in Hindi, English and regional languages, with copies sent to relevant departments for record and implementation. ‘We have to raise voice against forces continuing with defaming Dharmasthala'
Former Muzrai Minister B. Nagaraj Shetty on Wednesday called upon people to raise their voice against forces that continue to defame Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara temple and pattadhikari of Sri Kshetra Dharmastala D. Veerendra Heggade. Talking at the 'Janagraha Sabhe' of the Dharmasthala Dharma Raksha Vedike in Bantwal, Mr. Shetty said concerted efforts were being made by a group to denigrate Hindu religious places. Forces have tried to denigrate many temples. The temple and the pattadhikari have involved in many benevolent and social empowerment activities and unfortunately they were being targeted by some vested forces, using the ongoing probe by Special Investigation Team into the complaint of mass burial of bodies in Dharmasthala. Raising questions over the way the SIT was investigating into the mass burial issue, BJP leader Harikrishna Bantwal said the SIT has so far not asked the complainant about the place from where skeletal remains, which the latter produced before the magistrate at the time of recording his voluntary statement, were brought. Former MLA Rukmayya Poojari and BJP leader Ramdas Bantwal also spoke. Orator Chakravati Sulibele and activist Vasanth Giliyar took part in the 'Dharma Jagruti Sabhe' of Punyakshetra Samrakshana Samiti in the Shri Rama Bhajana Mandira in Malpe, Udupi. While asking the State government not to bow down to pressure and pro-people organisations, they asked the government to allow SIT to do a comprehensive investigation into the complaint. The statement was issued after members of the organisations held a roundtable discussion in Mangaluru. Apart from mass burial issue, the State government should ensure a proper inquiry into deaths of teacher Vedavalli in 1979, PU student Padmalatha in 1986, of deaths of siblings Narayan and Yamuna in 2012, and reinvestigation of Soujanya rape and murder case of 2013, the organisations said in the statement.
