Cambridge fighting to stay 'in the mix'
Cambridge United boss Neil Harris has urged his players to ensure they are "in the mix" beyond the Easter weekend as they fight to avoid relegation from League One.The U's take on Huddersfield Town in West Yorkshire on Friday and are seven points from safety with just four games left to play. They have won three and drawn three of 11 games since Harris returned to the club for a second spell in charge in February, when they were bottom of the table."I've said all along that I want us to give ourselves a fighting chance and make sure we're in the mix as long as possible in the division," he told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire."It's imperative that we try and pick points up over the Easter period, they are two challenging fixtures in Huddersfield away and Leyton Orient at home, but two games that need absolutely no motivation whatsoever from me to my players.
Cambridge - who last played in League Two in 2021 - could be relegated on Friday is they lose to Huddersfield and either Burton Albion or Bristol Rovers win."It's an opportunity for us to go up against another team who are huge in the division and put them on the back foot, that's the plan and then come back (home) to Orient (on Monday) and hopefully we'll find ourselves in a position where we're fighting and scrapping, and we want to win games at the Abbey," Harris added."Turnaround time is fast between, same as Saturday-Tuesday and we'll prepare accordingly. We'll have to get the balance (right) over the weekend between recovery and preparation time."The lads who don't start in the game on Friday will have the opportunity to train Saturday/Sunday and prepare properly for Monday."Following the Easter fixtures, Cambridge are away to Burton on 26 April before the daunting task of taking on champions Birmingham City on their home ground seven days later.Harris said changes were ongoing to the playing side of the club's operations since he and another former boss, Mark Bonner, now director of football, were appointed."We know there's a lot more change to come but at the moment we're showing development and sometimes you have to take a step backwards to be able to take a step forward in life, and certainly in football," he added.

‘Monster' Royal Ascot horse outruns a car in blistering workout under Ryan Moore – as bookies scramble to slash price
EVERY punter knows the famous story of how legendary racehorse Frankel famously outran the 7.13am train from Newmarket to Cambridge. But it looks like a new legend could be made after a 'monster' Royal Ascot runner appeared to show more zip than a car in a 'blistering' piece of work. Millionaire runner Satono Reve impressed all those who saw him on the July track at Newmarket on Wednesday morning. Trained by Noriyuki Hori, the international raider looked a machine when extending under the watchful eye of his master trainer. Footage of his work showed a car in the distance fail to get up close to the six-year-old as he absolutely flew past those near the post. And his workmate, a local horse trained by James Horton, was soon left trailing in his wake. But it was Moore's role in the saddle that really got tongues wagging ahead of Satono Reve's intended run in the star-studded Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes next Saturday. Satono Reve has won seven of his 11 career races and amassed more than £2.5million in prize money. British punters may not know much about him but he has form against Ka Ying Rising - officially the best sprinter in the world. Paddy Power and Ladbrokes cut the speedster to 6-1 from 8s after footage of Satono Reve's work under Moore spread online. Paddy's Paul Binfield said: "There's been a bit of interest for the Japanese raider this morning and while it's hard to equate winning a Grade One at Chukyo with the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes, the volume we've seen has forced us into evasive action and the Hori-trained runner is into 6-1 from 8s." Cal Gildart of Ladbrokes added: "Satono Reve placed behind superstar Ka Ying Rising on both his previous trips abroad, and punters are excited to see how that translates at Royal Ascot." Punters absolutely loved what they saw. One said Satono Reve 'burned up the turf' while another added in response to the footage simply: "Monster." He'll have his work cut out in the race proper, with globe-trotting superstar Lazzat, one of many recently bought by Wathnan, heading the market at 3-1. . Remember to gamble responsibly

They had been expected to mount a strong push for promotion last term. Duff led his side on an impressive 16-game unbeaten run midway through the campaign. But the Terriers lacked bite where it mattered, with their 58 goals the lowest of any team in the top half.
