VCSC invites students to attend annual Athletics Leadership Conference
Nearly 100 middle and high school students from Vigo County schools attended the event. They heard from the Indiana High School Athletics Association Commissioner, about how to succeed on the court, in the field, and in life. This conference helps give students the tools they will need, to lead their peers.
Updates on the VCSC 2025 budget
'We have a bunch of different speakers come in and talk about leadership and just about what the IHSAA is about and how athletics are run and how you can change your team atmosphere and impact the community through your actions.' said Kylie Lloyd, President of the Student Athletic Council at Terre Haute North Vigo High School.
'Not only having these speakers come in help us, they are sort of showing us how to have good sportsmanship and how to be a better leader within our community.' said Emma Martin, Vice President Of The Student Athletic Board At Terre Haute North Vigo High School)
School officials say this is just one of the many ways they are showing students a path to leadership.

Indiana State Police team up with INDYCAR's Felix Rosenqvist for recruiting campaign
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Indiana State Police (ISP) are teaming up with NTT INDYCAR SERIES driver Felix Rosenqvist as part of a new recruiting campaign. According to a press release from Indiana State Police, the campaign is based on the message 'we meet you where you are,' as troopers will be traveling alongside Rosenqvist to future races to connect with potential recruits. The partnership will also showcase the ISP brand to a national audience by placing an ISP logo on Rosenqvist's helmet that can be seen through onboard driver-view cameras. Indy 500-themed welcome center nearing the finish line Rosenqvist also wore a helmet featuring the ISP logo during the 109th running of the Indianapolis 500 in May, where he finished 4th overall. During upcoming races in Illinois, Wisconsin, Ohio, Iowa and Tennessee, ISP said troopers will connect with fans by providing recruiting information and answering any questions. Clay City Softball captures second semi-state title
ELNORA, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Clay City defeats Indianapolis Lutheran 3-0 to capture the program's second ever semi-state title. Karlee Smith homered for the Eels. Lizzy Sinders pitched a complete-game two-hit shutout in the circle. Clay City will face North Newton in the 1A State Finals. The game will be at 5:30 p.m. ET on June 13th at Purdue University.
