Arrests after four 'iconic' statues stolen from Iford Manor in Wiltshie
Police said suspects broke into the property near Bradford-on-Avon on the night of Thursday 19 June into the early hours of the following morning.
The estate said four "iconic" bronzes were stolen from the Grade I-listed gardens, which have been shortlisted for the Historic Houses Garden of the Year Awards.
A post on the manor's website said it was "still reeling" from the loss of the statues, in particular the copy of the Capitoline She-Wolf with Romulus and Remus, which "has overlooked the valley here for over 120 years".
"This is a cultural loss for all of us," the post said.
"The gardens here have welcomed visitors since 1910 and now have 20,000 visitors from April to September who enjoy the tranquil and beautiful setting, of which the She-Wolf was the heart and in a setting made to showcase the statue."

The other statues stolen include a pair of symmetrical fawns, copies of the Villa Dei Papiri fawns, and a bust of Antinous.
At the time of the theft, the estate was hosting a five-day jazz festival.
Wiltshire Police said a 31-year-old man and a 39-year-old man were arrested in the Bristol area on Thursday evening and were later released on bail.
Detective Inspector Penny Andrews said: "We are continuing to appeal for anyone knows anything about the stolen items or who saw anything suspicious leading up to the incident to come forward with information.
"No matter how insignificant you may think the information may be, it could be vital to assist our ongoing investigation.
"We would also urge any antique dealers or auction houses to look out for the items."

McGill co-owned EKLean dry cleaning business in East Kilbride with professional bodybuilder John Barry McDuff until 2021 - a year before he fled to the United Arab Emirates amidst fears he would be arrested after French cops broke into the encrypted criminal phone network. Images from the firm's social media pages show the clothes cleaners promoting garment care for expensive designer brands such as Moncler, Louis Vuitton and Prada. Speaking to the Record, the source said: "McGill and McDuff were business partners for a number of years and built up a substantial drug dealing network throughout Scotland. "Both used the Encrochat network and after it was busted people started to get the jail and McGill moved fast before the authorities caught up with him. "McGill moved to Spain and eventually Dubai, but McDuff wasn't as smart and the police were soon knocking on his door." When McGill fled the country, he left McDuff as the sole owner of the firm with the business still registered under the gym bunny's name. Since moving to Dubai, McGill has rubbed shoulders with international cartel bosses and moved his criminal operation on to another level. "He knew he had been discussing some very incriminating stuff on Encrochat and when it was cracked he left without any intention of ever returning to Scotland." McGill lived quietly in Dubai, orchestrating huge drug deals before he launched a gang war on the streets of Scotland earlier this year. Members of caged Edinburgh kingpin Mark Richardson's crew were accused of ripping him off to buy £500,000 worth of cocaine with fake bank notes. McGill soon announced that everyone linked to Richardson was a target. Properties and businesses throughout Edinburgh were set on fire throughout March, before the war spread to Glasgow in April, targeting the notorious Daniel clan for their association with Richardson. Thieves smashed into car to steal bike from Travelodge car park
THIEVES smashed into a car to steal a bike from a Travelodge car park. It was reported that between 6pm on Friday, August 15 and 3am on Saturday, August 16, two offenders smashed into a van on Lifeboat Quay in Poole. The rear window was reportedly smashed while the van was parked in the car park near the Travelodge. A white Giant Reign bicycle was stolen while another bicycle was left propped against the van. Police are now investigating the incident and urge any witnesses to report information with the reference number 55250121702. A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: 'Officers investigating the theft from a motor vehicle are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.' WCSO seeking info regarding burglary
The Wilson County Sheriff's Office is asking for public assistance regarding a July burglary. The Criminal Investigations Division said a home in the southeast portion of the county was burglarized July 28. No neighborhood or other geographic landmarks were given. According to the report, $2,000 in cash, $800 worth of meat, a green Ozark cooler, two rifles and one shotgun were stolen. Additionally, $2,000 worth of tools were reportedly stolen. Brands include Craftsman, Ryobi, Milwaukee and Harbor Freight. WSCO says no video footage from either the victim's home or the neighbors' houses is available.
