The latest romance novel getting an on-screen adaptation is Every Summer After by Carley Fortune.
Every Summer After—which spent 14 weeks on the New York Times best-seller list after its release in May 2022—is officially back on the charts following news that Percy and Sam's nostalgic love story is getting the Amazon treatment. On July 18, Prime Video announced their upcoming television series based on the nostalgic beach read—and if you're a friends-to-lovers girlie, this one is definitely for you.
Thankfully, Prime Video didn't keep BookTok waiting for updates, immediately announcing seven cast members, including our main duo. You'll probably recognize leading man Matt Cornett from High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, while Amazon tapped Saltburn's Sadie Soverall to play Percy.
'I couldn't be more excited about this fabulous cast! This is an enormously talented group of actors, whose auditions made me laugh, swoon and cry," Fortune said in a statement, per The Hollywood Reporter. "I know they'll have fans of Every Summer After falling in love with their favorite characters all over again.'
Here's everything else we know about Every Summer After.
When does Every Summer After drop on Prime Video?
Amazon has not shared a release date, though the initial announcement revealed the series is already in production.

When 'Weapons' Movie Will Be Available to Stream and How to Watch

It's the movie that made Jordan Peele fire some of his staff after they loss the massive bidding war to make it. And it's also being called the best horror film of the year. Obviously, we're talking about Weapons, Zach Cregger's big followup to Barbarian that will definitely make you second guess walking back home in the dark. With so many secrets lying in the film, you're definitely not going to want to hesitate in seeing this ASAP! Here's everything you need to know about watching Weapons. Weapons was officially released on August 8, 2025 after originally being push from it's January 2025 release date. If you dare watch this film on the big screen, then all you have to do is head to your local theater and grab a ticket. Hope you're not afraid of the dark... Just like our favorite films, it won't be in theaters forever. So if you're really wanting to see this in a cinema (and avoid spoilers, of course!) then make sure to see it as soon as you can! Like all our favorite movies, they take a few weeks after their theatrical release to appear on streaming. And since it's a Warner Bros. film, then we already know that it will likely come out on HBO Max. An official release date for streaming hasn't been released yet, but we're definitely counting down the days until it finally comes out so we can watch with the lights on at home. Not subscribed to HBO Max? You can still rent or buy it at home via online stores like Prime Video, iTunes, Fandango at Home, YouTube, or Google Play. Or if you're a huge fan, you'll also be able to buy it on Blu-ray and DVD!

North Carolina is having a moment on the small screen

Turn on your favorite streaming service and you'll likely see a project filmed in North Carolina — from the Crystal Coast to Charlotte and Lake Norman. Why it matters: Productions like these fuel North Carolina's economy and tourism, drawing fans who want to visit filming locations. Recent movie and TV projects have funneled hundreds of millions of dollars to the state, Axios' Zachery Eanes reported. Driving the news: Prime Video recently released the trailer for "The Runarounds," an eight-episode music drama series set to air Sept. 1. The show follows recent high school graduates from Wilmington, North Carolina, pursuing a music career. Real-life musicians William Lipton, Axel Ellis, Jeremy Yun, Zendé Murdock and Jesse Golliher star in the show. Model and actress Brooklyn Decker, who lives in the Charlotte area with husband Andy Roddick, also appears in the show. The intrigue:"The Runarounds" is by the creators of " Outer Banks," a popular Netflix series partly filmed in Wilmington. The big picture: The North Carolina Film Office lists nine recent productions that have filmed in Wilmington, including "The Runarounds," "The Waterfront" on Netflix, and "The Summer I turned Pretty" on Prime Video, to name a few. The North Carolina Film Office lists 11 total current productions across the state and 14 total productions filmed in 2024. The bottom line: It's been a successful summer for shows filmed in North Carolina. The Hunting Wives," which was filmed in and around Charlotte, has been a top 10 show on Netflix since it dropped in July. "The Summer I Turned Pretty," which was filmed in parts of the Triangle, including UNC Chapel Hill, has millions of people tuning in. Yes, but: NC doesn't have the same level of financial incentives it did during its "Iron Man 3" era, meaning the state is more likely to see small screen projects than big-budget films.
