This is about one such actor who worked in over 300 films alongside stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Zeenat Aman, Jaya Prada, Dimple Kapadia, Vinod Khanna, Dharmendra, Rishi Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, Govinda, Akshay Kumar and several others. Unfortunately, his death was riddled around grief, poverty and struggle.
This actor made his screen debut in the opening scene, as a dancer, in the film 'Sanam Teri Kasam'. His acting debut was in the movie 'Karishmaa' in 1984. The actor was rolled in credits in some of the blockbusters like Shehenshah, Ganga Jamuna Saraswati, Toofan, Coolie No.1, Ek Aur Ek Gyarah and several others. Mahesh Anand reportedly was a model and had a black belt in karate as well. He gained popularity for essaying villainous characters with those long hair and thick moustache. However, he never really made it with lead roles.
His first two films were produced by Barkha Roy, actress Reena Roy's sister. The two eventually fell for each other and Anand married Roy. Later the two separated and he tied the knot with Miss India International, Erica Maria D'Souz, and welcomed a son. However, the relation did not last. Then he got married to Madhu Malhotra and his fourth wife was Usha Bachani. None of these relations lasted but he gave marriage a fifth chance when he married a Russian woman Lana. According to Dainik Bhaskar report, he had love affair with twelve other women.
Mahesh Anand earned fame but later struggled financially to a point where affording food was also a challenge. He was out of any job for almost 18 years. According to report by Bollywoodshaadis, he once had a rift with Akshay Kumar. During the filming of 'Waqt Humara', he allegedly misbehaved with a woman in a nightclub and a scuffle broke out when Akshay Kumar tried to confront him about it. In 2019, Anand was found dead in his flat aged 57. Reports claim that the body was found after a two-three days of his passing and police had to forcefully break into his home and found him unconscious with food and alcohol laying around. Reportedly, his isolation was to a point that for two-three days his body decomposed without the knowledge of any of his knowns.
