Intas Pharma completes acquisition of UDENYCA biosimilar for $558 million
Intas Pharma finalized its acquisition of UDENYCA, a biosimilar to Neulasta, from Coherus Life Sciences for $558 million in December 2024. This acquisition strengthens Intas's position as a global leader in pegfilgrastim. Accord BioPharma, Intas's U.S. specialty business, will continue commercializing UDENYCA to reduce infection risk in cancer patients undergoing myelosuppressive chemotherapy.
Agencies Intas Pharma has completed the acquisition of UDENYCA for $558 million, the company said in a release.
UDENYCA is a biosimilar to Neulasta or Pegfilgrastim. It is used to treat side effects of radiation therapy in cancer patients such as recurrent infections.
Intas acquired the biosimilar drug from California-based Coherus Life Sciences in December 2024.'This acquisition cements our position as a global leader in pegfilgrastim and allows us to further expand our specialty division across key international markets,' said Binesh Chudgar, Intas Pharma's chairman and managing director.Intas Pharmaceuticals in collaboration with its global subsidiaries operating under the Accord brand, have acquired UDENYCA.
With the acquisition, Accord BioPharma, the U.S. specialty business of Intas, continues the commercialization of UDENYCA to decrease the incidence of infection, as manifested by febrile neutropenia, in patients with non-myeloid malignancies receiving myelosuppressive anti-cancer drugs associated with a clinically significant incidence of febrile neutropenia, the company's release stated.'The completion of the UDENYCA acquisition marks a pivotal moment for Accord BioPharma, as it not only strengthens our market presence but broadens our capabilities as we endeavour to innovate and expand in the biosimilar space,' said Chrys Kokino, President, USA, Accord BioPharma.

Hyderabad's DEC Infra gets Central government housing contract worth Rs 2,000 crore in New Delhi
Hyderabad: In a significant achievement, the Hyderabad-based DEC Infrastructure and Projects (India) Private Limited has secured a major contract for constructing modern residential facilities for the Central government employees in New Delhi. The company received a Letter of Acceptance from the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) of the Government of India after accepting the tender for carrying out works at a cost of Rs.2,000 crore. The company got the contract for the redevelopment of the general pool residential colony at Sriniwaspuri in New Delhi. Extending gratitude to the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) for awarding the contract, DEC Infrastructure Chairman and Managing Director Anirudh Gupta said the project aims to provide modern residential facilities for the Central government employees. 'It's a proud moment for us to get the contract, reflecting our hard work in ensuring excellent infrastructure facilities both in the private and government sectors,' he explained. The company would construct as many as 3,112 2BHK flats each with 1,100 sft in 16 blocks in 20.86 acres. The high-rise residential units include single basement, stilt and three-level podium parking, a multi-level car parking, a community centre and Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) dispensary. The redevelopment works also include all development works and services on EPC (Mode-I) basis including comprehensive maintenance and operation of service for five years after completion of construction work. Commenting on the achievement, DEC Infrastructure Whole Time Director Ravinder Gupta said, 'The company's expertise was recognized with an esteemed agreement to lead the high-profile project in the national capital for the benefit of Central government employees.' The company recently bagged Rs 317.32 crore contract for taking up phase-I comprehensive conservation, retrofitting and setting up of service building in North Block in New Delhi. DEC Infrastructure and Projects (India) Private Limited is actively involved in numerous projects worth over Rs.10,000 crore across various sectors in the country. It is presently executing seven projects including Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) in Alwal, Government Medical College in Ramagundam, Medical College and Hospital in Mancherial, Prisons complex in Siddipet, Railway Station at Egmore near Chennai. Two more new projects taken up by the company are the High Court of Telangana and the Railway Station in New Delhi. The Delhi railway is being constructed at a cost of Rs.2,200 crore, while Central Cabinet Minister Chambers in New Delhi at a cost of Rs.295 crore and another contract awarded by NBCC India Limited for constructing a residential colony at Noida at a cost of Rs.2,500 crore.

US judge tosses Rumble lawsuit claiming advertising boycott
- A U.S. judge on Wednesday dismissed online video-sharing and internet-hosting company Rumble 's lawsuit accusing spirits maker Diageo and other advertisers of conspiring to withhold ad spending on its platform, as the same court weighs a similar case lodged by billionaire Elon Musk's social media company X. In her ruling, U.S. District Judge Jane Boyle in Dallas said Texas federal court was not the proper forum for Rumble's lawsuit against Diageo and advertising and marketing agency WPP, which are both based in England, and Brussels-based World Federation of Advertisers. Boyle's ruling did not address the merits of the lawsuit filed last year by Florida-based Rumble, which hosts U.S. President Donald Trump's Truth Social. The judge also said it was an "open question" whether her Texas court was the appropriate forum for a related lawsuit that X filed last year against the advertising federation and other company defendants. Rumble and two lawyers representing the company did not immediately respond to requests for comment, and neither did World Federation of Advertisers and Diageo. WPP declined to comment. X did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The defendants in both lawsuits have denied they had an agreement to withhold advertising spending on Rumble. Rumble's case focused on a " brand-safety standards " initiative by the advertising federation called the Global Alliance for Responsible Media . Rumble accused members of the alliance, which lasted until last year, of illegally boycotting platforms that did not comply with those standards. In a court filing in February, Diageo and the other defendants countered that "there are perfectly good non-boycott reasons why defendants and others have chosen not to advertise on Rumble, which prides itself on lax content moderation and brand-safety measures." The defendants told the court that Rumble's lawsuit was an attempt to force them to do business with the platform despite competitive reasons not to do so, and that Rumble was trying to "weaponise the antitrust laws to create that business relationship." They also argued the lawsuit "has nothing to do with Texas."
