Monaco hold talks with Barcelona's Marc-André ter Stegen

AS Monaco have held talks with Barcelona's Marc-André ter Stegen (33) regarding a move, according to a report from L'Équipe.
The Principality club have cast their net far and wide this summer in their search for a new No.1. Monaco's CEO, Thiago Scuro, confirmed upon the conclusion of the Ligue 1 season that a new goalkeeper was sought after after the current options, Radoslaw Majecki and Philipp Köhn, failed to convince over the duration of the campaign.

David De Gea was considered before he renewed at Fiorentina. Djordje Petrovic and Marcin Bulka have also been linked with Monaco, as have Torino's Vanja Milinkovic-Savic and Trabzonspor's Ugurcan Çakir. The latter represents a more feasible option, financially.
Ter Stegen, who has recently seen stiff competition arrive at Barcelona in the form of Joan Garcia, is an option. L'Équipe even understands that talks were recently held with the German international, whose contract with the Catalan club runs until 2028.

Corriere dello Sport: Roma is Not Selling Koné

The past 24 hours served as a reminder to us all that rumors are just that—rumors. In the wake of yesterday's fantastic (in the unbelievable sense of the word) news that Roma and Inter Milan were engaged in transfer negotiations for Roma's French midfielder Manu Koné, many Giallorossi fans (myself included) were fit to be tied at the thought of the club sacrificing the 24-year-old talent. But here we are a day later, and the Corriere dello Sport has just soothed our collective nerves: According to Corriere, Roma has no intention of selling Koné and, in fact, never received the rumored €40 million plus bonuses offer bandied about the Romaverse yesterday. Of course, as we know all too well, the rumor pendulum can swing just as easily the other way—it's a fickle and vicious cycle—but for now, it seems like we can breathe a sigh of relief. Koné should loom large in Gasperini's midfield this year and stands every chance at cementing himself as one of the best midfielders in Serie A. We'll continue to monitor this story, but lord willing, this will be the last of it.
