Indian Army FT edge past ten men Tribhuvan Army FC by a solitary goal
Gagandeep Singh started in goal for Indian Army FT in place of the suspended Sayad bin Abdul Kadir as Head Coach Manish Wahi gave starts to Abhishekh Shankar Powar and Wangden Tamang in place of Shubham Rana and Samir Murmu while Tribhuvan Army FC Head Coach Meghraj K.C also made three changes for their final group game, bringing in Niraj Chaudhary, Anil Bomjan and Shrijan Dani in place of Aviskar Khadka, George Prince Karki and Niranjan Dhami.
Tribhuavan Army started the match on the front foot controlling the possession and pace of the game and created the first real chance of the game with Gagandeep Singh palming away Gillespye Jung Karki's header to safety. Indian Army side started to settle into their rhythm and showed more control in possession and created chances of their own, taking the lead in the 21st minute. Wangden Tamang found P. Christopher Kamei on the edge of the box with a cross from the left wing who controlled the ball with his left foot and with a precise low shot, the experienced midfielder found the bottom corner past the diving goalkeeper.
Troubles mounted for the side from Nepal as they were reduced to 10 men in the 29th minute as goalkeeper Bikash Kuthu was shown a straight red card for a reckless foul on Liton Shil outside the penalty box while trying to stop the striker who ran free from the defence and had also rounded the keeper. The resultant free kick taken by the goal scorer Christopher Kamei hit the crossbar.
The Nepali Army side showed character even with a man down as they continued to press forward in search of the equaliser. The forwards were able to find some good positions in the danger area but they were denied by a combination of some solid defending and a couple of saves by the Indian Army side as the scores remained the same into the break.
Indian Army continued to dominate possession from the restart but were unable to make use of their man advantage as Tribhuvan Army showed some resilience in defence, making it hard for the Indian Army attackers to score their second. They were also wasteful in front of goal with Liton Shil missing as many as three chances to score. On the other end, the Nepal side who were playing on the counter attack missed a golden opportunity to level the scores. Disanta Rai failed to divert a cross from the left wing into an open goal as the substitute miscued his shot. Moments earlier Captain Gillespye Karki was unlucky to hit the crossbar with a powerful header from a corner kick with the goalkeeper rooted to his spot. Tribhuvan Army looked dangerous every time on the counter attacks, but were not clinical in the final third.
In the end, Christopher Kamei's first half strike was enough to secure their first win of the tournament and secure three points.
Result: Indian Army FT 1 (Christopher 21') Tribhuvan Army FC 0

Durand Cup 2025: East Bengal Edge Past Namdhari To Move Closer To Knockouts
Last Updated: East Bengal FC beat Namdhari FC 1-0 in the Durand Cup with Hamid Ahadad's debut goal. East Bengal leads Group A with six points, dominating possession despite Namdhari's defense. East Bengal FC took a significant step towards qualifying for the knockout stages of the 134th Durand Cup with a hard-fought 1–0 victory over a determined Namdhari FC in a Group A clash at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan on Wednesday. Making his debut for the Red and Golds, Moroccan forward Hamid Ahadad came off the bench to score the decisive goal in the 68th minute, marking a memorable first appearance. The win was East Bengal's second in as many matches, taking them to the top of Group A with six points and a healthy goal difference of +6. Head coach Oscar Bruzon rang in four changes from their opening fixture, handing starts to goalkeeper Prabhsukhan Singh Gill, Brazilian midfielder Miguel Figueira, Greek striker Dimitrios Diamantakos, and winger Bipin Singh. Namdhari FC, still reeling from suspensions, made two forced changes. Skipper Akashdeep Singh returned to bolster the defence, while Manish Chaudhary was included in the attack in place of the suspended Manbir Singh. From the outset, East Bengal dominated possession and pinned Namdhari deep inside their half. However, goalkeeper Niraj Kumar produced a sensational performance to keep the favourites at bay. In the ninth minute, he rushed off his line to deny Diamantakos, and minutes later cut off a dangerous low cross from Bipin Singh to thwart a clear chance. Midfielder Mohammed Rashid tested him with a fierce shot in the 17th minute, before Miguel Figueira rattled the post twice—once from distance and again with a header. In the 39th minute, Niraj denied Saul Crespo from close range before watching Miguel hit the crossbar yet again with a thunderous header. Despite wave after wave of East Bengal attacks, Namdhari's deep defensive setup—anchored by their keeper's brilliance—kept the game goalless at halftime. Substitute Ahadad Breaks the Deadlock East Bengal resumed the second half in similar fashion, searching relentlessly for the breakthrough. After another saved effort from Diamantakos and a rare Namdhari chance that Dharmpreet Singh fired wide, Bruzon made a tactical switch—bringing on Hamid Ahadad in the 61st minute. The Moroccan wasted no time making his mark. In the 68th minute, Miguel Figueira swung in a corner which Niraj misjudged, allowing Ahadad to head in unchallenged at the far post. East Bengal continued to press for a second goal, but Namdhari remained compact, avoiding further damage. With the win, East Bengal moved to six points from two matches and remain firmly in control of their knockout destiny. Namdhari, who have also registered two wins in three games, remain in contention with six points and a goal difference of +3. They can still progress as one of the two best second-placed teams.
