I tried the gel polish with gel top coat, I tried the gel system with the lamps, and I tried every polish out there. My hands get washed hundreds of times daily. This stuff is unbelievable. It really works the way they say it does. I applied it about one or two minutes after finishing a second coat of color, and within minutes, it had bonded and set, and my nails stayed shiny and polished for over a week. That is not the full two weeks claimed, but I am unusually hard on my nails, so over a week is AWESOME. I immediately ordered several more." — Amazon Customer

Though I wish it were a little cheaper, let me tell you, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. it was as fresh as if I had just applied it — oh, and it's the height of summer for me. I expected it to fail me as I do a cycle class at the gymm and trust me when I am done I am soaking wet. I got home, and this deodorant is still as fresh as when I applied it. Promising review:"Excellent, sturdy broom which sweeps nicely. The unit stays standing up without a lot of effort; it just has to be balanced properly. I like the little thingies on the dustpan that clean off the broom. Also, when sweeping into it, you don't have to hold the dustpan, plus it is easy to empty because dustpan doesn't flop around. TikTok influencer slammed for viral video about ‘unchic' fashion

Tara Langdale talked to Fox News Digital about how she received hurtful messages from critics after a not-so-serious fashion post describing what she views as 'unchic' went viral, spawning a cascade of events that made her apolitical post a victim of attacks. The self-described stay-at-home working mom amassed some 250,000 views and found herself on the receiving end of some hate after an April 7 TikTok of her seated, drinking from a wine glass with nicely done hair, gold jewelry and manicured nails as she skimmed through a list of 'unchic' fashion sins. Advertisement Tattoos, Lululemon, baggy denim, camouflage and visible panty lines were just a few that made part one of Langdale's controversial 'unchic' list, which drew backlash from seething critics who called her out with a political twist. 'Voting for Trump is unchic,' one said. 'To her, privilege = chic. Hope this helps!' said another. A third said, 'just say you're a republican and go lmao,' while a slew of commenters took exception to her tattoo stance and ranted about classism. Advertisement The video even caught The Guardian's attention, prompting an article that coined 'chic' as 'a shorthand for a type of conservative-coded aesthetic' and spoke of the 'rigid and airbrushed' looks of Trump allies, sch as Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt. 4 Tara Langdale received backlash for her 'unchic' fashion TikTok. @tara_langdale / TikTok Though Langdale diddles cribe herself as conservative when speaking to Fox News Digital, she insists not everything is about politics. 'When I get dressed in the morning, I'm not thinking about my political party and how I should dress to showcase that,' Langdale said. Advertisement 'I think conservativism is more of culture, religion – all of those things go into your conservativist mindset. Now, if you're talking about conservative style of dress… that's also going to be more like religion and culture,' she went on. 'Of course, if I'm going to church on Sunday, I'm dressing very conservative. I'm going to keep it classy, but if you see me in the street in my regular day-to-day, I am not at all conservative. I would never consider my style to be conservative. But am I conservative? Absolutely, so I can differentiate the two. I know that the internet has a hard time doing that.' 4 Lululemon made Langdale's controversial 'unchic' list — along with baggy denim, camouflage and visible panty lines. REUTERS 4 Tattoos were also on Langdale's list. xartproduction – Langdale addressed the politicized dogma, saying she doesn't understand why TikTok users jumped to conclusions about 'conservative' or 'Republican makeup' as they did. Advertisement 'Because I'm blonde, because I have more of a natural look about me, I'm not fully glammed all the time… I'm really not sure how that makes me appear conservative, but, again, I just think when people don't agree with what you say, they have to find a way to discredit you, and that's just an easy tactic,' she continued. At the same time, Langdale pushed back against the idea of her video implying that people too poor to afford expensive items are automatically 'unchic,' and pointed to brand-name items like athletic apparel brand Lululemon, Apple Watches and Golden Goose sneakers – all of which can be pricey – as evidence pointing to the contrary. 'Just keep in mind that money talks and wealth whispers, and I don't know any wealthy people that are wearing Gucci across their chest,' she said in her original post. Langdale explained that the TikTok trend of users showcasing 'things I find incredibly chic' grabbed her attention as they began circulating on the app. She found them 'pretentious and off-putting,' so she felt compelled to take her own stab at the video. 4 'When I get dressed in the morning, I'm not thinking about my political party and how I should dress to showcase that,' Langdale said about the political criticism she received. @tara_langdale / TikTok 'Of course, my video came off as pretentious and off-putting as well, but it felt like a certain level of cringe for me, and I don't like to personally attack anybody on social media, so I wouldn't go after a specific creator. I just kind of wanted to hop on the trend… so that was my initial, 'Why I created the video.'' Advertisement Langdale shared that her direct messages on the platform have been 'insane' with threats and comments about her family since the video went viral. 'It does make you step back and take a pause,' she shared. 'Like, is this really worth it for how crazy people react? And I would never want to put my family in danger, but I think a lot of it is just the keyboard pirates that are just back there behind their computer typing whatever they can to try to get more likes in the comments,' Langdale added.

Coco Gauff Is the 2025 French Open Women's Singles Champion

On Saturday, June 7, Coco Gauff took home her second Grand Slam title, winning the 2025 French Open against world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka with a final score of 6(5)-7(7), 6-2, 6-4 at Roland Garros. Gauff also won the U.S. Open in 2023. It was an emotional moment for the tennis champion, who celebrated on the court before running to her mother and father, Candi and Corey Gauff, who were watching in the audience. After receiving her trophy, Gauff was interviewed by Sloane Stephens, where she praised her family for keeping 'her grounded.' 'You guys keep me grounded and give me the belief,' she said. 'Thanks, and I love you guys. To my brothers at home, you are the reason I do this, and you inspire me more than you know.' She continued, 'Thanks to everyone who made this tournament happen, and thanks to you guys! You really helped me today, you were cheering for me so hard. I'm not sure what I do to deserve so much love from the French crowd but merci beaucoup.' Gauff finished out her speech with a reference to rapper Tyler the Creator. 'Honestly, I didn't think I could do it, but I'm going to quote Tyler the Creator right here and he said 'If I ever told you I had a doubt inside me, I must be lying,'' she said. 'I was lying to myself, so thanks to Tyler, and thanks to you guys.' In October 2024, Tyler actually threw in a reference to Gauff on his album CHROMAKOPIA in the track 'Thought I Was Dead' with ScHoolboy Q and Santigold, saying in the lyrics, 'You ain't Coco Gauff, you can't serve me.' Gauff reacted to the song at the time on TikTok, saying, 'Biased opinion: it's fire. Unbiased opinion: it's fire. Anyways, don't take my word for it, go listen for yourself.'

Jeff Bezos's wedding could be ruined by protesters

When Jeff Bezos and his bride-to-be cruise into Venice's lagoon on their $500 million (£386 million), 410ft-long superyacht this month, it will not just be gondolas, Gothic palazzi and bell towers that will greet them. Activists will stage noisy protests against the star-studded wedding of the billionaire Amazon founder and Lauren Sánchez, a former television journalist, arguing that it will transform the World Heritage city into 'a playground for billionaires'. The nuptials, set to be held for three days from June 24-26, are set to cost $10 million (£8.4 million) and will be the biggest celebrity wedding at the site since George Clooney married Amal Alamuddin a decade ago. Hollywood stars such as Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner and Katy Perry, as well as members of the Trump dynasty like Donald Trump Jr, Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner, are expected to attend. Luxury suites in the finest hotels have been booked for the likes of Bill Gates, Orlando Bloom, Oprah Winfrey, Eva Longoria and Leonardo DiCaprio. With a slogan that plays on Bezos's ownership of Blue Origin, his space rocket venture – 'No space for oligarchs, no space for Bezos' – protesters will march along canal banks and through piazzas during the wedding celebrations, carrying banners and letting off coloured smoke flares. Venice, the protestors argue, should not be put up for sale to the world's third-richest man, who has an estimated worth of $225 billion (£166 billion). The 'dignity' of Venice needs to be defended. 'The whole of Venice, all the people who live here, need to do something to protest against Bezos,' Alice Bazzoli, an activist from the 'No space for Bezos' campaign, told The Telegraph. 'It's not about him personally, it's about the consequences that the wedding will have for the city.' On stone bridges and the walls of alleyways across the city's historic centre, there are posters depicting the American billionaire's head superimposed on a rocket blasting into space and the words 'Bezos wedding in Venice? No way!' Protesters say that a mega-wedding attended by the 'ultra-rich one per cent' is the last thing that Venice needs, insisting that it will disrupt daily life for ordinary Venetians and will bring them little benefit. The wedding will also entail the cordoning off of public areas and the blanket booking of water taxis. No official wedding programme has been disclosed, but locals have a hunch that the nuptials may be held on the island of San Giorgio, which lies at the mouth of the Grand Canal opposite the stone-carved splendour of St Mark's Square. A tiny islet, it boasts historic churches, cloisters and libraries. 'He has booked out at least five luxury hotels, the island of San Giorgio will be completely booked out for the duration of the wedding, it will be hard for locals to move around because there will be security measures for his VIP guests,' said Ms Bazzoli. 'He'll pretty much take over the city for his celebrations, paying a huge amount of money for the privilege. It will compound all our problems – daily life is already hard for locals in Venice because of the impact of mass tourism.' In a quiet street in the Castello district of the city, far from the tourist hordes, Marta Sottoriva, another activist, was busy making giant banners for the protests. 'The wedding will benefit the very few – the owners of luxury hotels, the operators of water taxis – all of whom already earn huge amounts of money from tourism. It will bring absolutely no benefits for ordinary Venetians,' she said. For many Venetians, the wedding represents an extreme example of the commercialisation of their city – a place where locals can no longer afford to live because apartments are sold to outsiders or rented to tourists on platforms such as Airbnb. With an acute lack of affordable public housing, many families move to the mainland, across the lagoon, where rents are cheaper. 'Venice is being transformed into a vast theme park, a cultural Disneyland,' said Ms Sottoriva. The authorities introduced a scheme last year whereby day-trippers have to register online and pay an 'access fee' to enter the city. 'A lot of friends have said to me that they now feel like animals in a zoo,' she said. Luigi Brugnaro, the millionaire mayor of Venice, insisted that the Bezos wedding will be a 'great event' that will bring no disruption whatsoever. He said there will only be around 200 guests and that Venice has experience of handling much larger events, such as the Art and Architecture Biennale exhibitions. Bezos and his staff have 'categorically' not booked large numbers of gondolas and water taxis. The mayor told The Telegraph that he was 'grateful' that Bezos had chosen Venice as the venue for his wedding. 'Anyone who loves Venice is always welcome,' he said, adding that there will be significant economic benefits because the event will 'reinforce the role of Venice as a place of encounters and hospitality'. The priority will be to 'ensure that the city functions normally, for everyone, without any inconvenience for anybody,' he said. But claims of lavish economic dividends are sharply disputed by critics. 'I don't think Kim Kardashian will be sitting down at a local trattoria to eat spaghetti. They'll have private chefs instead,' said Ms Bazzoli. Giovanni Andrea Martini, an opposition member of the city council, said: 'It's absolutely false. It won't bring any benefit to ordinary Venetians. It is just going to cause inconvenience.' Hosting the wedding is 'an extreme case of the Disneyfication of Venice,' he said. But now that it is a done deal, Mr Martini wants Mr Bezos to make a donation to the city – not towards sprucing up ancient monuments or artworks but towards restoring the estimated 1,000 council houses and flats that lie empty and abandoned, fuelling the accommodation crisis. Mr Martini said the official estimate of 48,000 inhabitants is wrong, saying around 18,000 of those are second homeowners who have residency but do not live in the city full-time. The true population could therefore be as low as 30,000. Speaking from his office in Venice's town hall, he said the real number of annual visitors could be as high as 30 million – much greater than the 20 million figure that is often cited. 'This is the proportion we are dealing with – 30 million tourists visiting a city of 30,000 inhabitants.' Broaden your horizons with award-winning British journalism.
