Oppo tipped to offer insane 7,500mAh battery in upcoming flagship phone
The potential specs come from regular Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station who posted on Weibo about the Find X9 Pro.
Based on a machine translation of the DCS post, these are some impressive specs, highlighted by the battery.
The X9 Pro is set to feature a 6.78-inch display running a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chip and a 7,500 mAh battery. Speciality phones can have larger batteries — at MWC 2024, my Tom's Guide colleagues saw an Energizer-branded phone with a 28,000 mAh power pack — but 7,500 mAh would be out of the ordinary for a more conventional flagship device.
As an example, the current Oppo Find X8 Pro features a 5,910 mAh battery. While we don't include that device in our best phone battery life list, it was still impressive in our informal testing.
DCS does not mention if the battery is a silicon carbon battery, which creates more battery cell capacity in the same amount of space as the more common lithium ion. Both Apple and Samsung are reportedly exploring using silicon carbon in their future phones.
Oppo already uses silicon carbon batteries in its phones including last year's flagship. It means that despite the larger size, the Find X9 Pro will likely be smaller or the same size as its predecessor.

The largest phone battery I've seen is the gimmicky Oukitel WP100 Titan that doubles as a lamp and projector with a 33,000mAh battery. However, that phone also weighs just under 2 pounds. By comparison, the Find X8 Pro weighs 7.6 ounces.
Typically, MediaTek announces its Dimensity chips in the fall, around September, and we expect a similar schedule for the Dimensity 9500. That should also be on TSMC's third-generation 3nm process, similar to the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2.
Oppo has largely been one of the first phone manufacturers to feature the top-end Dimensity chips in its flagship phones. Last year's excellent Find X8 Pro launched in the fall with the Dimensity 9400.
Additionally, DCS claimed that the Find X9 Pro will feature a 200MP periscope camera plus a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, IP68/69 resistance and 50W charging.
The camera is massive upgrade over the 50MP sensor in last year's model and could put the Find X9 Pro more on par with Samsung's Galaxy S25 Ultra and the iPhone 16 Pro Max — not to mention the iPhone 17 Pro Max coming in September.
The fingerprint sensor was introduced in the Find X8 Ultra last year, and the OnePlus 13, launched in early 2025. Both those phones also got IP68 and IP69 resistance as well.
Apple and Samsung are rumored to feature battery specs and charging speeds in upcoming devices that look a lot like their current models. So it'll be interesting to see if Oppo spurs either company to make changes down the road.

Samsung's Galaxy Watch 8 just came out and you can already save $50
If you're looking to upgrade an older Android smartwatch, or want to give wearables a try for the first time, Samsung's Galaxy Watch 8 is a compelling choice. It has a new design, lets you access Google's Gemini AI from your wrist, and has a handful of new health and wellness features. It launched on July 25th, but you can already get the 40mm model on sale for $299.99 ($50 off) from Samsung. Amazon has the watch for full price, but is offering a $50 promotional credit toward a future purchase if you use the code APSUE5MBXB6Y at checkout. Samsung's latest smartwatch features a new squircle design, Gemini, and some new health features like an Antioxidant Index and Running Coach. The Galaxy Watch 8 is squircle shaped, which may be divisive, but allows it to lay flatter and Verge reporter Victoria Song found it fit more more comfortably on her wrist in her review. The change also let Samsung make the watch thinner than the Galaxy Watch 7, and yet we still found it can still last more than a day on a charge. While it's not a huge departure from its predecessor, it could be a good upgrade for anyone with a Galaxy Watch 5 or below, and Samsung's new discount counteracts the $50 price increase means you're not paying any more than the Galaxy Watch 7 cost at launch. If you've gotten used to Google Gemini on your smartphone or computer, the Galaxy Watch 8 will let you access it from your wrist – we created playlists, checked the weather, and have previously asked Gemini whether it's necessary to scrub a sweet potato before peeling it. Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Price Now Slashed By $500 In New Sale
In 2024, Samsung launched its first phone with AI features. The Galaxy S24 Ultra with Galaxy AI went on sale at the beginning of the year for $1,299.99 for the model with 256GB storage. Right now, it's a lot cheaper. The latest price on Amazon reduces the cost of the phone to $799.99, a 38% cut compared to the original price sticker: a full $500 off. To be clear, this is not a refurbished model, but a brand-new handset, found at this price in the titanium gray finish. If you prefer titanium black (popular but, if I may, less eye-catching), that's also available for the identical price. More adventurous types might prefer the titanium yellow finish, and I couldn't blame you. That's $50 more, at $849.99. Still a big discount on the original sales price at $450 or 35% off. Then there's titanium violet, a purple color of the sort that persists on your retina after you close your eyes. It's more expensive, $1,072.91, which is still around $227 off the original sticker price but not the value found on the other colors. For reference, Samsung also sells the Galaxy S24 Ultra 256GB model, but it's a refurbished model, which Samsung calls 'Certified Re-Newed' and it costs $1,019 in titanium black only. The newest Ultra, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra with 256GB storage routinely sells for $1,299, but it currently is on sale from Samsung for $999.99 with Samsung Instant Savings, a $300 price cut. If you're considering the purple S24 Ultra from Amazon, the S25 Ultra is a better price for a newer phone. The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is also available in a 512GB storage model. Originally, this cost $1,419.99 and Amazon's best prices are for the titanium gray and titanium yellow options, both of which are 23% off, that's $320.99 off, at $1,099. In this storage level you'll pay around $50 more, $1,149.95, if you want the titanium black finish, and the titanium violet is again the most expensive at $1,175.21. Again, Samsung has $300 off the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra with 512GB storage, dropping the price from $1,419.99 to $1,199.99, so not much more than these S24 Ultra prices right now.
