At least 30 injured when car hits crowd outside Los Angeles club, fire department says
At least seven people were in critical condition and six others were seriously injured, the fire department said in an online statement.
Reuters was not immediately able to contact the city's police department.
The incident occurred just before 2 a.m. local time (0900 GMT), the fire department said.
Captain Adam VanGerpen, a fire department spokesman, was quoted by ABC News as saying that a paramedic assessing one of the injured found a gunshot wound. He said he was unable to confirm reports that it was the driver of the car that hit the crowd.
The car, he said, apparently first careened into a taco truck outside the venue and then plowed through a valet stand and into a large group of people.
Videos posted on X showed roads being sealed off and patients being taken away in ambulances.
Authorities gave no immediate details on the cause of the incident or the identity of the driver.

"As soon as the exam ended the proctors collected the exams and the candidates were dismissed from the room so that EMTs could provide the needed medical care to the candidate.' The university and the state board wished the law candidate, who has not been named, a speedy recovery. The board said it is also continuing to review what happened, including which candidates may have been impacted, and 'will formulate an appropriate response in due course.'

Donald Trump said he would probably not pardon Sean ' Diddy ' Combs after the mogul was convicted of transportation for prostitution but not guilty on several more serious charges. The president did note, however, that Combs' acquittal on numerous sex-trafficking and racketeering conspiracy charges meant he was 'essentially, sort of, half innocent.' Trump had reportedly been 'seriously considering' a pardon for Combs as he awaits his sentencing in a Brooklyn jail. Speaking to Newsmax on Friday, Trump ultimately said it was 'more likely a no' but noted the interesting situation the rapper had found himself in. 'Well he was essentially, sort of, half-innocent. I don't know what they do that he's still in jail or something. He was celebrating a victory but I guess it wasn't as good a victory,' he said. The president then detailed his past relationship with Combs, as both are native New Yorkers who became famous. 'I was very friendly with him, get along with him great, seemed like a nice guy, didn't know him well,' he said. That started to take a turn when Trump moved toward politics. While Combs was largely agnostic in the 2016 race, he endorsed Joe Biden in 2020 and said if Trump won there would be a race war. 'But when I ran for office he was very hostile. But it was hard with human beings and we don't like to have things cloud our judgement, right? But when you knew someone and you were fine and then you run for office and he made some terrible statements, so I don't know, it makes it more difficult to do,' he said. Ghislaine Maxwell moved to prison camp, Trump says no plea for pardon
Aug 1 (Reuters) - Ghislaine Maxwell has been transferred from a Florida prison to a lower-security facility in Texas to continue serving her 20-year sentence for helping the late financier and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein sexually abuse underage girls, the U.S. Bureau of Prisons said on Friday. Maxwell's move from FCI Tallahassee, a low-security prison, to the Federal Prison Camp in Bryan, Texas, comes a week after she met with Deputy U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche, who said he wanted to speak with her about anyone else who may have been involved in Epstein's crimes. Maxwell's lawyer, David Markus, confirmed she was moved but said he had no other comment. Spokespeople for the U.S. Department of Justice did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
