$15,000 in damage to parked vehicles in South Walkerville, suspect arrested
A 56-year-old man has been arrested after eight vehicles were damaged in South Walkerville. Windsor police responded to the 2300 block of Lincoln Road shortly before 8 a.m. on Saturday for a report of several damaged vehicles. Upon arrival, officers located eight vehicles at various addresses along the block with damage ranging from $600 to $15,000 each. Surveillance footage showed the suspect using an object to damage the vehicles. Through investigation, officers identified the suspect. Officers located him at his residence. He was subsequently arrested and charged with six counts of mischief under $5,000 and two counts of mischief over $5,000. Stolen tools recovered in Tilbury
Stolen tools have been recovered after they were seen by police in public. The incident happened on May 6 just before 7 a.m. The Chatham-Kent Police Service launched an investigation and said the tools were taken from a storage shed nearby. The following items were recovered: Fiskars pole saw/pruner 4450 Champion generator Red gas Gerry can A half inch 18-volt DeWalt drill Stihl chainsaw MS260 Large ball diamond rake Square shovel 12-inch rigid compound miter saw The property was returned to the owner. A 44-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged for break-and-enter a place and commit theft and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. The accused was expected to attend court at the end of April, but officers said the suspect failed to attend. On Aug. 8, she turned herself in for an outstanding warrant for her arrest.

Woman, 52, dies after house fire in Sipekne'katik: N.S. RCMP
An RCMP vehicle is pictured on July 3, 2025. (CTV Atlantic / Callum Smith) A 52-year-old Sipekne'katik woman has died following a house fire in the community. The RCMP said fire services and EHS were called to a structure fire on Tuff Street near Burma Road on Sunday around 12:25 a.m. Police say when officers arrived at the scene, the home was fully engulfed in flames. After the fire was extinguished, RCMP say firefighters located one person deceased inside the home. According to a RCMP release, criminality is not believed to be a factor. The investigation is ongoing and is being assisted by the Nova Scotia Fire Marshal's Office and the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service.
