Tennessee Titans welcome back safety Quandre Diggs
On Tuesday, the Tennessee Titans welcomed Diggs back into the fold and will give the 10-year veteran a chance to make the dream of playing with Ward a reality. The coaching staff is familiar with Diggs, who started eight games for the Titans in 2024 after joining the team in August. He was playing at a high level when the injury hit, and finished the season with 42 tackles.
Over his career, the former sixth-round pick of the Detroit Lions has recorded 622 tackles and 24 interceptions with the Lions, Seattle Seahawks, and the Titans.
Not only will Diggs have to prove that he is healthy and fully recovered from the injury, but he will also be joining a crowded safety room in Nashville. The Titans signed Xavier Woods as a free agent and added Kevin Winston Jr. in the third round of the draft to fortify the back end of their defense.
The move also comes on the heels of the Titans adding safety Joshuah Bledsoe earlier in the day, sparking speculation on social media about the status of the unit, specifically Winston, heading into the first preseason game. Winston is coming off a torn ACL, and left practice early on Sunday with soreness in his knee, although that was precautionary and part of a plan head coach Brian Callahan and the trainers put in place.
To make room for Diggs and Bledsoe, the Titans released outside linebacker Titus Leo and safety Mark Perry.

Falcons plan to play rookies in preseason opener vs. Detroit Lions
The Atlanta Falcons will take the field this Friday for their preseason opener against the Detroit Lions. While fans attending the game shouldn't expect to see Michael Penix Jr., Bijan Robinson or any key starters, they will likely get a chance to see the team's five-player draft class. Head coach Raheem Morris spoke with reporters on Wednesday morning and confirmed that the rookies will play on Friday night, including first-round pick Jalon Walker and third-round pick Xavier Watts. Walker and Watts have missed time over the last week but Morris said both players are good to go for the preseason. The team's other first-round pick, James Pearce Jr., will also make his preseason debut. The former Tennessee Volunteer has been one of Atlanta's biggest training camp standouts over the last few weeks. Pearce's feisty attitude has helped give the defense an edge. While fans are excited to see Walker, Pearce and Watts, Friday's preseason opener is a chance for fourth-round pick Billy Bowman and seventh-round pick Jack Nelson to make their mark. Bowman has received some run with the first-team defense and is competing for the team's nickel corner position. Nelson is a developmental offensive lineman with good upside. It will be interesting to watch how these rookies perform in actual game action. Friday's game kicks off at 7 p.m. ET at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. 2025-26 NFL betting, odds: Detroit Lions have their best preseason Super Bowl odds in nearly 50 years
By most measures, the Detroit Lions have been incredibly successful over the past two seasons. Detroit has posted a 27-7 record (including 15-2 in 2024-25), won the NFC North division crown twice and been the NFL's best team to bet on over that time span, going a ridiculous 24-10 (70.6%) against the spread. Despite heartbreaking losses in the last two postseasons, expectations are even higher in the betting market for Detroit this season — in fact, they are historic. [Join or create a Yahoo Fantasy Football league for the 2025 NFL season] The Lions are currently 10-1 to win Super Bowl 60 at BetMGM, the fifth-best odds behind the Baltimore Ravens (+700), Buffalo Bills (+700), Philadelphia Eagles (+700) and Kansas City Chiefs (+800). What's significant about those odds are that they are the franchise's best preseason odds to win the Super Bowl since at least 1977, according to Sports Odds History. And that's as far back as the website's database goes. Despite losing both coordinators this offseason — defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn is now the head coach of the New York Jets and offensive coordinator Ben Johnson is now the Chicago Bears' head coach — the public is lining up to bet Detroit again, as the Lions have the most wagers (10.8%) and total dollars wagered (13.6%) at BetMGM of any team to win the Super Bowl, including a $54,500 wager at 10-1 that would win $545,000. 'Bettors are supporting the favorites to win the Super Bowl,' Christian Cipollini, senior trading manager at BetMGM said in a statement. "Nearly 50% of all handle is on the Lions, Bills, Eagles and Ravens to lift the Lombardi Trophy.' The Lions are once again favored to win the NFC North (+145) and have a win total of 10.5, which is tied with their 2024 win total of 10.5 as the team's highest over/under since 1989 — again, as far back as the Sports Odds History database goes for that market. Is this the season that Detroit finally breaks through?
