'Woke' Netflix bosses axe iconic scene from Pride and Prejudice remake to 'avoid objectifying men'
Netflix bosses have axed an iconic moment from Pride and Prejudice in a new 'woke' move to avoid 'objectifying men'. The unforgettable scene of Mr Darcy - played by Colin Firth - emerging from a lake was all the rage in 1995. But show bosses have confirmed it will not resurface in the forthcoming version of the rom-com. According to reports, many fans will be disappointed as the famous BBC scene is said to have 'got millions of women hot under the collar'. A source told The Sun: 'It is also credited for sparking subsequent moments of male objectification on screen - likes Aidan Turner's famous topless scything scene in Poldark.' It's claimed that Netflix bosses 'don't want a repeat'. The saucy scene soon became one of the most favourite TV scenes, however it didn't actually feature in Jane Austen's original 1813 story. Arguably the most iconic wet shirt ever worn sold at auction for £25,000 - double its estimated sale price. The famous scene turned Oscar-winner Firth into a sex symbol and also rocketed the shirt's sale price 30 years later, after auctioneers estimated it would be sold for between £7,000 and £10,000. The sale contained costumes archived by Cosprop, a costume house founded by Oscar-winning designer John Bright in 1965. Oscar-winner Firth played Fitzwilliam Darcy in the 1995 BBC adaptation of Jane Austen's novel, opposite Jennifer Ehle as Elizabeth Bennet - who is surprised when she visits his estate, Pemberley, to find him wet and not properly dressed. The moment has been re-imagined in Netflix series Bridgerton, when British actor Jonathan Bailey steps out of a lake, and was also referenced in Bridget Jones's Diary, which stars Firth as another Mr Darcy, a nod to his portrayal by writer Helen Fielding. The famous 'wet shirt' was designed by renowned costume designer Dinah Collin and then made by Cosprop. Cosprop's general manager Chris Garlick said multiple versions of the shirt were made as it was worn in wet and dry scenes, and in case of re-takes. The whereabouts of three fully verified shirts are known, according to Kerry Taylor. Almost 30 years after the scene first aired, the now dry shirt was sold for a hammer price of £20,000, with the buyer's premium of £5,000 taking the overall total to £25,000, all of which will go to charity. Costumes from TV drama series including Poldark, Peaky Blinders and Downton Abbey also went under the hammer.

Kanye West hits out at 'absurd' sex trafficking lawsuit from ex-assistant
Kanye West hit back after being accused of sexual assault and sex trafficking by his former personal assistant in a bombshell complaint. Lauren Pisciotta originally sued the Gold Digger rapper, 48, last June, alleging that he stalked and sexually harassed her while she worked for him—claims he previously denied. After amending her complaint in October, she has reportedly now made fresh allegations in a second complaint, accusing him of assault, battery, sex trafficking, and false imprisonment. In a new statement via his representatives, West blasted the claims as 'absurd,' noting that Pisciotta has advanced her legal complaint 'four times'. 'Each new revision contradicts the others; each is more absurd and outlandish than all previous claims combined,' the Yeezy spokesperson told 'Does Ms. Pisciotta actually believe her confabulations? We cannot know. But this breathless new instalment of fantasy fiction discredits all past, present, and future testimony.' The response continued: 'We stand ready to annihilate Ms. Pisciotta's tall tales before a jury—an exoneration so inevitable that even she, lost in her fog of fantasy, must surely see it coming.' Yeezy representative Milo Yiannopoulos also issued a statement regarding 'the absurdity of Pisciotta's quadruply revised claims, which now include kidnapping, battery, rape, false imprisonment, and even sex trafficking.' 'She picked the one rapper who loathes violence, has never been arrested, and doesn't even own a gun,' Yiannopoulos said. In the original documents obtained by TMZ, Pisciotta, who worked under the dad-of-four between 2021 and 2022, said that the pair travelled to San Francisco to break ground on his Donda school. While on the work trip, the OnlyFans model claimed that he made unwanted advances, which she tried to fend off, before he kissed her and asked personal questions about her vagina. She further alleged that, during a writing session in his hotel suite, West masturbated and touched her vagina but fell asleep mid-sentence. The outlet reports that he then showed up at her hotel room to use the shower but shoved her onto a bed and pinned her down, forcing his penis into her mouth. Influencer Pisciotta reportedly begged him to stop and then 'froze in shock and 'fear'—the Grammy winner eventually apologised and walked out of her room. It was also claimed that he offered Pisciotta as a sexual gift to an unnamed person in exchange for letting him have sex with their partner. She added that the musician 'notoriously offered women as sexual gifts to men'. After West's public response this weekend, Pisciotta's attorney, Lisa Bloom, also spoke out. 'While Kanye West's publicist has come up with a slickly worded (and outrageously false and defamatory) attack on Ms. Pisciotta, Kanye himself has publicly admitted much of what she's claiming,' Bloom began. 'Kanye's publicist is deafeningly silent on Kanye's own admissions, which will destroy him in court. 'We look forward to seeing him there, where he cannot hide behind a high-priced spin team.' West hired Pisciotta in July 2021, and she was promoted to Chief of Staff for his various companies the following year. She alleged that she was fired in October 2022, and offered $3million (£2.2m) in severance but never received the money. Last year, she filed a lawsuit suing him for breach of contract, sexual harassment, wrongful termination, and a hostile work environment. The fashion designer has already denied all allegations made against him once before, accusing his former employee of 'blackmail and extortion'. 'In response to these baseless allegations, Ye will be filing a lawsuit against Ms. Pisciotta, who actively pursued him sexually to coerce employment and other material benefits, then engaged in blackmail and extortion when her advances were rejected,' his team told TMZ last June. More Trending 'It is evident that Ms. Pisciotta leveraged her association with Ye and his company, and her proximity to him, to seek material gains, clout, and employment through inappropriate means.' In mounting claims last October, she claimed that he drugged and raped her while attending a party thrown by Sean 'Diddy' Combs. It's not the only blow dealt to the rapper. Rubicon Festival in Slovakia was cancelled on July 11 following a huge outcry after Ye was set to headline. Got a story? Spencer Matthews makes brutal dig at Vogue Williams ahead of her 40th birthday
Irish TV presenter Vogue Williams married Made in Chelsea star Spencer Matthews in 2018, but he's made a savage age-related dig just months before the mum-of-three turns 40 Made in Chelsea star Spencer Matthews made a harsh dig towards his wife Vogue Williams as she prepares to celebrate her 40th birthday with friends and family. Influencer and Irish TV presenter Vogue will celebrate her birthday in October, with her nearest and dearest already planning a series of events to mark her milestone. Vogue, 39, married Spencer, 36, in June 2018, just a few months after they announced their engagement. They now share three children: Theodore, six, Gigi, four, and Otto, two. The couple, who are known for their playful back and forth, have been forced to dismiss rumours in recent months after speculation their marriage was on the rocks. But they've not let it stop their banter, with Spencer bravely making a cheeky dig at his wife's age. The ex-reality star was discussing his plans for Vogue's big day, and what he has planned for his wife of seven years. He quipped: 'Plenty going on for that, it's obviously a big one, it is a big birthday… I myself look forward to my 40th in four years' time." Moving on from his joke, he explained to "No I think it is going to be great. We are going to do lots of different things. "We have a few friendship groups. We have an Irish group, we have an English group. So we will probably have a party in Ireland, and we will do something at home as well. 'I might take her away and do something special as well. We will plan stuff in more detail, it is at the tail end of the year so thankfully we do have time to organise that. But Vogue is ahead of the curb on that one and we know a bunch of stuff that we are doing.' Spencer pulled it back after his savage dig, but it's not the first time he's made a joke at his wife's expense. During an appearance on comedian Joanne McNally's podcast, I Ghosted My Therapist, Vogue recalled a time her friend got her back up over one of Spencer's comments. Vogue remembered: "He [Spencer] said something about me having small t*ts and you went for him. You said, 'I'm only allowed to say that', he couldn't understand why he wasn't allowed to say it." Joanne, 41, confirmed: "Yeah, it was the tone or something, I just didn't like the tone of it." Vogue laughed: "That sounds like you might have been serious, 'I know you look at those nipples all day long, but doesn't mean you can slag them [off]'." The comedian explained: "It's all about the tone, there was no wink at the end, no, no, no, I intervened. I can say you've got s**t t*ts but if your husband says it, it's totally different." But Vogue certainly gives as good as she gets, with the Dublin native having her fair share of jabs at Spencer. Recently, she said she initially thought the business owner was a "sociopath" when she first met him. In a recent interview with the Sun, Vogue revealed that she already didn't like Spencer before she met him. The mother-of-three confessed: "I kind of met him with a preconceived idea, and I was like, 'I'm not going to like him' because I thought he was a sociopath." Vogue soon changed her mind, adding: "But after I met him, I loved his personality straight away . . . he was so sound, but I was being really good at being single and I wanted to stay single, so I thought, 'He's going to be a really good friend' — that's the first thing I thought."
