Wanted Rockford man in custody after drug and weapons raid by US Marshals
Around 12:30 p.m., US Marshals and RPD went to the 600 block of 3rd. Street to search for Dixon, who was wanted for delivering cocaine and having a firearm while being a felon.
Authorities forced their way into the apartment and took Dixon into custody after he was found in the attic.
Officers found cocaine, digital scales, a loaded handgun and over $1,000 in cash.
Dixon successfully evaded officers in a Chevy Tahoe and on foot on May 2nd.
Dixon is charged with possession of a weapon by a felon, manufacturing and delivering cocaine, aggravated fleeing from police while driving 21 miles per hour over the limit and resisting an officer.

San Jose police arrest 3 suspects in separate homicides
Three suspects are in custody for three recent San Jose homicides, including one suspect who was arrested in Colorado, the department said Friday. Kevin Le was being sought for a deadly shooting on April 1 at a home in the Mayfair neighborhood of East San Jose. The 25-year-old San Jose resident was one of five suspects in the shooting. Police arrested two suspects in June and identified a third suspect already in custody in an unrelated case. A fourth suspect was arrested on July 14 in San Jose, and earlier this month, police announced Le was still at large. After seeking the public's assistance on social media, detectives received a tip that Le was in the state of Colorado, police said in a press statement Friday. U.S. Marshals located and arrested Le in Colorado on August 11 and he will be extradited back to San Jose to be booked on a murder charge, police said. On August 4, officers responded to a call about a fight in the parking lot of a business on Story Road between Adrian Way and Jackson Avenue in East San Jose. They found a man who had been stabbed, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said Friday that on the same day, officers identified a person of interest and located him in the city. Detectives confirmed that the person of interest, 45-year-old Marino Diaz of San Jose, was the person responsible for the homicide, police said. Diaz was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for murder. On Sunday evening, a man was found dead inside a home in the Roundtable neighborhood of South San Jose. Police said it appeared the man had been beaten to death, and a suspect was arrested at the scene. On Friday, police identified the suspect as 42-year-old Jerry Cao of San Jose and said he was booked at the Santa Clara County Main Jail for murder. Police said the motive and circumstances surrounding the murder are still under investigation. There have been 18 homicides in the city of San Jose in 2025. California man charged in North Carolina for alleged sexual exploitation of child on Snapchat
A California man was recently extradited to North Carolina for allegedly using Snapchat to sexually exploit a 10-year-old child, officials said. The Craven County Sheriff's Office in North Carolina said on August 6 that an investigation began after it received a report on the matter on May 28, 2025. Investigators with the sheriff's office's Internet Crimes Against Children task force identified Sacramento resident Lorenzo Diaz, Jr., 21, as the suspect. U.S. Marshals arrested Diaz at his home in California's capital city on July 14 and executed a search warrant. Diaz was extradited to North Carolina on August 5 and was charged with felony first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, felony second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and felony indecent liberties with a minor, the sheriff's office said. Diaz remains in the Craven County Confinement Facility on a $1 million bond. "[We encourage] parents to have an open dialogue with their children about the dangers of social media including applications like Instagram, Snapchat, and gaming applications that can lead to kids meeting dangerous strangers," the sheriff's office said. The Craven County Sheriff's Office said additional charges are expected.

Redlands police seek additional information on skeletal remains discovered in 2024
Redlands police are hoping to find additional information on the skeletal remains discovered in a field in 2024. The remains were found in a field near Lugonia Avenue and Tennessee Street on Oct. 21, police said in a release. "The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Coroner's Office believes the remains are those of a 24-45 year old female adult, possibly of Hispanic descent," police said. They believe that she had medium length, dark colored hair and was wearing a "Citrus Valley Blackhawks" soccer pullover sweatshirt with a white tank top underneath. The woman also used a catheter, which was found with the remains. Police provided replica images of the tank top and catheter in hopes that someone would be able to help identify the victim that way. Anyone who knows more is asked to contact RPD detectives at (909) 335-4777.
