Venus Williams Has Some Smashing News About Her Personal Life

Yahoo6 days ago
A post-match interview with Venus Williams on Tuesday revealed that the 7-time Grand Slam singles winner is engaged to Andrea Preti, an actor and former model who was seeing her play in person for the first time.
The juicy tidbit emerged as the former world No. 1 celebrated her victory over Peyton Stearns at the DC Open, making Williams, 45, the oldest player to win a tour-level singles match since Martina Navratilova did at age 47 in 2004. Williams had not played a match in well over a year.
An on-court chat with interviewer Rennae Stubbs took a sweet gossipy turn when she said to Williams, 'You're now an engaged woman. So, how much has Andrea helped you in this comeback? You're happy, the smile on your face. I mean, how much has he made a difference in your life?'
'Yes, my fiancé is here,' Williams answered, prompting a spectator chorus of 'wooooo!'
'He really encouraged me to keep playing,' she added. 'There were so many times where I just wanted to coast and kind of chill. Do you know how hard it is to play tennis? You guys don't know how much work goes into this, like it's 9 to 5 except you're running the whole time. Lifting weights and just like dying and then you repeat it the next day. So he encouraged me to get through this and it's wonderful to be here. He's never seen me play.'

And here's the couple during Milan Fashion Week in February when the two fueled engagement whispers because Williams wore a diamond ring, according to People.
Their relationship dates back to at least July 2024 when they were photographed on a boat off the Amalfi Coast, the outlet reported previously.

Paramore's Hayley Williams surprise releases nearly 20 songs: How to listen to new music

Hayley Williams is in the business of keeping fans on their toes. The rock singer and Paramore frontwoman has inconspicuously released an album's worth of music on her website accessible with a code. "Submit the exclusive Good Dye Young 16-digit access code that was sent to your inbox," a pop-up on the website says, prompting fans to enter digits sent to them by Williams' hair product line. "Check your inbox for an email from Good Dye Young. If you don't have an email with a code, maybe ask a friend for theirs," the message mysteriously states. From there, fans can access an old-school desktop layout with MP3 files of Williams' new songs, 17 in total, and click play on an audio player. The website also features a "misc" folder. Its contents include a video of Paramore performing in 2017, some lyrics scrawled in a coloring book, a photo of a "Hayley Williams is my favorite band" T-shirt and an audio clip of a child saying, "I'm sorry that you're going through something hard." Williams, 36, has been churning out a steady stream of musical treats. On July 23, she debuted her new song "Mirtazapine" on Nashville Public Radio WNXP. Days later, Paramore released a deluxe version of its 2005 debut album, "All We Know Is Falling," along with an archival EP from 2006. Osaka to work with Wiktorowski on trial after Mouratoglou split

Japan's Naomi Osaka, a four-time Grand Slam singles champion, will work with Polish coach Tomasz Wiktorowski on a trial basis after splitting with Patrick Mouratoglou after less than a year together. Osaka announced the parting with Frenchman Mouratoglou, the former coach of superstar Serena Williams, on social media on Monday before defeating Canadian qualifier Ariana Arseneault 6-4, 6-2 in 76 minutes in a first round match at the WTA Canadian Open in Montreal. Osaka, ranked 49th, began working in Canada with Wiktorowski, who coached Poland's Agnieszka Radwańska from 2011-2018, helping her reach the Wimbledon final and world number two ranking in July 2012. Wiktorowski also coached Poland's Iga Swiatek from late 2021 until last October, a run where she won four of her six career Grand Slam singles titles, before adding the most recent at Wimbledon earlier this month. Osaka, who improved to 11-1 in matches against players ranked outside the top 100, will next face 13th seed Liudmila Samsonova in the second round. They have split four prior meetings but Osaka won the two they played on hardcourts. Former world number one Osaka, 27, began working with Mouratoglou last September. "Merci Patrick it was such a great experience learning from you," Osaka posted on social media. "Wishing you nothing but the best. You are one of the coolest people l've ever met and I'm sure I'll see you around." Mouratoglou said on Instagram he was "grateful for the trust, the journey and what we have built together," and told Osaka he "will always root for you." Under the Frenchman's guidance, Osaka reached the Auckland final in January but retired after the first set with an abdominal injury. She won twice at the Australian Open but retired after the first set in her third match with the same injury. Osaka won her first WTA title since the 2021 Australian Open in May at the L'Open 35 de Saint Malo, but fell in the first round of the French Open and the third round at Wimbledon. js/lp
