Is BTS working on Michael Jackson tribute album? Agency issues statement
Fans of the South Korean boy group were beginning to get excited, making edits of their dance performances to Jackson's songs, after The Irish Sun reported that BTS was at Grouse Lodge in Ireland and recorded one of Jackson's unreleased tracks.
The report claimed that the tribute album would be called 'Jackson's next 'Thriller'', to released alongside a documentary about the pop icon and his family's summer in a cow shed in County Westmeath, Ireland.
Jackson, who passed away in June 2009, had stayed in Grouse Lodge, an Irish recording studio, in 2006 while working on an unreleased album. The studio's owner Paddy Dunning told The Irish Sun that BTS had visited the studio and re-recorded one of Jackson's unreleased tracks.
However, BTS' agency shut down the reports saying the members have never visited the studio, nor are they participating in an upcoming Michael Jackson tribute album.
'BTS has neither visited Grouse Lodge Studio in Ireland nor recorded any music there. Reports claiming the group participated in a Michael Jackson tribute album are also untrue,' BigHit Music said in a statement on X. 'We are continuing to take action to prevent the spread of inaccurate information.'

Dunning had also claimed that 'there's about 10 more' songs on the tribute album, written especially for Jackson by collaborators he worked with in Ireland, including producer Rodney Jerkins and rapper Nephew.
The news of the Jackson tribute spread excitement among BTS' fans who have often found influences of the American pop icon's dance style in BTS' choreography. Their hit song 'Dynamite' was considered a tribute to Jackson, especially with a dance break that was inspired by the 'Thriller' hitmaker's style.
One fan posted the 'Dynamite' dance break synced to Jackson's 'Smooth Criminal'.

All seven BTS members have now completed South Korea's mandatory military service. While some members, like Jin and J-hope, have been busy with their solo projects, the members are expected to put out a group album in 2026 and a world tour soon after.

Today's Moon Mood: Thursday, August 7, 2025
The Vibe: Today's moon in no-nonsense Capricorn has us deep in our 'get-it-done' feels. You might wake up ready to crush your to-do list, pitch that idea, or just finally clean your inbox. But here's the plot twist: your brain wants to hustle, but your body is already asking for a nap. It's giving 'burning the candle at both ends' energy — so pace yourself. Signs Feeling It Most: Capricorn, Virgo, Taurus, Cancer If You're Feeling... – Hyper-focused: Use it wisely. Don't waste your productivity streak reorganizing your closet for the third time. – Irritable AF: Capricorn moons can make us feel emotionally restricted. Let it out — journal, scream into a pillow, or take a long walk. – Disconnected from people: You're not cold, you're just craving solitude to recalibrate. Honor that. Moon Mantra: 'Discipline is my magic. Rest is my rebellion.' Moon Moves to Watch: – Morning grind = strong: You might actually like your calendar today. – Afternoon slump: Big feelings under the surface — don't ignore them. – Evening reflection: Perfect time to plan, declutter, or reset your long-term goals. Moon Mood Ritual: ✨ Capricorn Moon Grounding Check-In – Light a grounding candle (think earthy scents: sandalwood, patchouli, cedar). – Write down one long-term goal that actually excites you. – Then write down one way you can rest without guilt. (Yes, rest is productive.) Capricorn Moon Playlist: – 'Workin' Day and Night' – Michael Jackson – 'Hard Place' – H.E.R. – 'Control' – Zoe Wees – 'Level Up' – Ciara – 'Saturn' – Sleeping at Last Energy Crystal of the Day: Smoky Quartz – For grounding, focus, and protection from burnout. Keep it in your pocket when you need a reminder to stay calm while being a badass.

BTS label Hybe announces global auditions for new girl group project
Have you ever watched a K-pop group wow an audience and felt like you wanted to get on the stage too? Hybe, the music label behind K-pop superstars BTS, has announced a new global girl group project, 'World Scout: The Final Piece." The group formed from this project will be set for debut in 2026. It will start with an audition in Japan, where one applicant will be selected for the final lineup - implying further audition calls in the future. The website does not specify nationality under the eligibility criteria, cementing the group's position as an international one. Televised programme The Korea Herald reported that the project will be televised in spring 2026, showing the entire process of forming a girl group - right from the audition process all the way till the group's conception. According to the official website, the selected applicants will undergo a training camp in the US, all of which will be filmed. The "K-pop style training" will be geared towards global audiences, the report quotes Hybe's statement as saying. The Japan audition is open to applicants from ages 18 to 24. Stay up to date with the latest news. Follow KT on WhatsApp Channels. International audiences This move is part of a larger shift of the K-pop industry, and Hybe in particular, towards international audiences. Hybe, in collaboration with Geffen, debuted the hit global girl group Katseye in 2023, with six members from all over the world. Hybe Latin America has announced a boy group called Santos Bravos, set to be formed this year through a similar reality/training show with the same name. Other K-pop labels such as JYP have introduced global groups as well. JYP's Girlset (recently rebranded from their old name, 'VCHA') consists of four members from the US. Recently, Hybe announced that it would open a new office in India between September and October 2025, hoping to tap into another huge market. This would be the fifth subsidiary, after US, Latin America, Japan, and Beijing.
