Daily Mirror2 days ago

Britain's Got Talent's 2025 live final is set to get underway in just a few hours time as the 10 remaining acts put on their best performance in the hopes of being crowned this year's winner. They will give everything they've got as they battle for the staggering £250,000 prize and secure a place at the Royal Variety Show in front of King Charles.
Hosts Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli will be on hand to offer their last piece of feedback to the stars of this year's series.
Viewers will not only be treated to performances from the 10 finalists, but also some surprise guests. During the final, fans can expect another show stopping performance from one of the judges, but unfortunately it's not Simon Cowell.
Guest judge KSI, who made his debut this season, will be taking to the stage to perform, and if his previous onstage performances are anything to go by, fans are in for a treat.
Follow along for the Mirror's live updates throughout the night as one act's dreams are set to come true...
The 10 acts competing for the winners spot tonight are:
LED Dance Group The Blackouts, singer Vinnie McKee, singer Stacey Leadbeatter, gymnastics star Binita Chetry, magician Harry Moulding and guitarist Olly Pearson.
Also joining them in the final will be opera singer and drag queen Jasmine Rice, dance act Ping Pong Pang, comedian Joseph Charm and Post Office choir Hear Our Voice.
Despite the final not kicking off yet, some think they already know who will be declared winner.
Bookies William Hill has made Hear Our Voice, the inspirational choir comprising of victims of the Post Office Horizon scandal, favourites to win with odds of 6/4.
The group - made up of victims of the sub- postmasters scandal, which saw hundreds of lives ruined by the Horizon IT fiasco - has wowed judges since their first audition and now look like they're well on their way to victory.
The 10 finalists are not the only ones taking to the stage later tonight, as judge KSI is set to perform.
Announcing the news on X, formerly known as Twitter, the official Britain's Got Talent account tweeted: HE'S BACK!!! Catch @KSI while you can performing at the #BGT Final, coming at you this Saturday 31st May at 7pm on @ITV1,@ITVX and @WeAreSTV."
The YouTube sensation began his music career in 2015 with the release of his debut single, Lamborghini, featuring P Money.
The YouTuber and boxer joined the Britain's Got Talent panel as a guest judge in February this year as he stepped in for fellow judge Bruno Tonioli who had to miss a few auditions due to schedule conflicts.
The Britain's Got Talent final will kick off at 7pm this evening. Viewers are in for a treat, as the show will run all the way until 9:45pm.

Simon Cowell was 'lost' for years after losses but one person 'saved' him

Talent show boss Simon Cowell has admitted he was 'lost' for years following the deaths of his parents as he shared the one thing that has changed his life completely Simon Cowell has emotionally opened up on the loss of his parents as he admitted his own son Eric was the one person to save him. The talent show boss, 65, is a proud dad to his 11-year-old son but has admitted it brings up pain about not having his own parents around. His father, Eric Philip Cowell, died aged 81 in 1999, followed by his mother, Julie, in July 2015, aged 90. Simon made sure to pay tribute to his beloved dad with his name choice for his son, who was born a year before his mum's death in 2014. ‌ The Britain's Got Talent creator's parents sadly missed out on huge milestones in Simon's life, including his impressive career as well as his engagement to partner Lauren Silverman. ‌ Simon has now admitted to being "lost" following the deaths of his mum and dad, up until his son was born. [Fatherhood has] had a huge impact on me because I loved my parents so much, and once they left, I was kind of lost for a while, and then Eric kind of saved me," he emotionally shared. He told People: "Because that love comes back a hundred times more powerful. I mean, it's extraordinary and it never goes. So I didn't expect that, and when it happened, it was like, 'Wow.' I mean, it's incredible." ‌ The former X Factor judge even confessed that becoming a father made his job easier. He said he now thinks of Eric when he is filming his TV shows and judges acts "through his son's eyes". In another bold confession, the music mogul revealed he has even become less career-focused now that he has Eric. "You realise that there are other things more important, actually, than your career," he said. Simon added: "If I wasn't where I am in my life today, I think it would feel quite empty." ‌ Last year, Simon heartbreakingly re-lived the torment of losing his parents as he revealed he was told his beloved father had died while he was working thousands of miles from home. The music mogul, then 40, was celebrating Westlife hitting No. 1 in the charts for the first time with Swear It Again when he discovered dad Eric had suffered a fatal heart attack. ‌ When Simon called his family to tell of his first success, his mother Julie couldn't bear to tell him the tragic news. Sensing something wasn't right, he called the family home again hours later - and it was left to younger brother Nicholas to tell him the terrible truth. Speaking to entrepreneur Steven Bartlett on his Diary of a CEO podcast, the TV star says he didn't know what he had left to live for when his mother also died in 2015. He said: "I thought my parents were going to live forever. The hardest thing about losing your parents is that you can't think of them after. It's too hard. "I would have swapped all my success to keep him around. They were my best friends, I told them everything. It's like how I feel for Eric, it's pure love."

Ncuti Gatwa reveals real reason behind Doctor Who exit as fans suspect it 'wasn't planned'

Doctor Who fans were left shocked during Saturday's night finale of the BBC show when Ncuti Gatwa left his role as the Doctor after just two series and regenerated into old fan favourite Billie Piper. Doctor Who's star Ncuti Gatwa is set to go down in the beloved sci-fi shows' 62 year history for many reasons - one of them being as one of the few actors who served the shortest time in his role as the Doctor. After just two series of the iconic drama, the Scottish-Rwandan actor shared with fans that he was stepping down from his role as the Time Lord. Ncuti cited the reason he quit was due to the physical and mental demands of the show, especially on his lead character, but fans believe his exit was not a planned one despite what the Sex Education star has told the media. The 32-year-old has now been replaced by the iconic Billie Piper, who previously starred in the BBC drama as Rose Tyler alongside former doctor Christopher Ecclestone, who only lasted one series. Piper also starred in the 2006 series with David Tennant. ‌ Ncuti recorded a video explanation for his fans after his exit was aired in the Doctor Who season 15 finale on Saturday May 31. He said: "It's a role that demands a lot of you physically and emotionally and mentally. The actors playing the Doctor are only actors playing the Doctor. Unfortunately, we are mere mortals. ‌ "I would love to have the energy and the youth to be able to do this full time for the rest of my life, but my knees are telling me it's time." ‌ However, die-hard fans believe there is another reason behind his exit, the Mirror reports. Taking to X, one fan named Mr Tardis had clearly done their research as they wrote: "In October 2024, Ncuti Gatwa was on 'The Graham Norton Show' saying he was going to be filming another series of DW next year. ‌ "In June 2025, he officially leaves the show and regenerates. This was never the plan. What a shame. He deserved so much better." Another echoed: "In situations like that, they'll often shoot two different alternative scenes: one where the series continues, and one to finish things off. "Ncuti may well have actually thought he'd be staying on back in October 2024, even after filming a regeneration scene just in case." ‌ A third fan was left disappointed with the news of his exit as they wrote: "I am so f****g sad. its one thing to see your doctor regenerate because they chose to, another to see it happen because of behind the scenes s**t. "I loved literally every episode this era. I've been defending it the whole time. this.. this kinda broke me." ‌ Adding to his exit speech, Ncuti said: "You know when you get cast, at some point, you are going to have to hand back that sonic screwdriver and it is all going to come to an end, but nothing quite prepares you for it. "This journey has been one that I will never forget and a role that will be part of me forever. He added: "There are no words to describe what it feels like to be cast as the Doctor, nor are there words to explain what it feels like to be accepted into this iconic role that has existed for over 60 years and is truly loved by so many across the globe." ‌ The former Doctor Who star continued: "The fans are truly the final character and beating heart of this show and I can't thank the Whoniverse, and the Whovians, enough for welcoming me in, and making this such a touching experience. "I've loved every minute of it, but now is the time to hand over the keys to that beloved blue box and let someone else take control and enjoy it every bit as much as I have. I'll truly miss it, and forever be grateful to it, and everyone that has played a part in my journey as the Doctor." Meanwhile showrunner Russell T. Davies also expressed his sadness over Ncuti's decision to step down. ‌ ‌ He expressed: "What a Doctor! Thank you, Ncuti! As his final words say, this has been an absolute joy, and the team in Cardiff and everyone who has worked on this show for the past few years, are so lucky to have been part of Ncuti's great adventure as he shoots off to stratospheric new heights." He added: "Billie once changed the whole of television, back in 2005, and now she's done it again! It's an honour and a hoot to welcome her back to the Tardis, but quite how and why and who is a story yet to be told. "After 62 years, the Doctor's adventures are only just beginning!" A spokesperson for Doctor Who declined to comment.

Influencer Taylor Ward has revealed she is pregnant with her second child with footballer husband Riyad Mahrez as the pair shared a touching video as they announced their news WAG Taylor Ward has announced she is expecting her second child with footballer Riyad Mahrez in a sweet post. She shared the exciting news with her 2.8 million followers alongside her husband and daughter, Mila. The family is set to expand as Taylor revealed she is pregnant in the adorable update. Taylor, who is the daughter of Real Housewives of Cheshire star Dawn Ward, appeared in a clip alongside Riyad and Mila. ‌ She captioned the post: "Our family is growing," alongside a white heart emoji. Riyad, who is also a dad to two daughters, Ayla and Inaya, with his former partner Rita Johal, joined Taylor in the emotional video alongside their children. ‌ The couple both wore white T-shirts as Taylor showed her growing baby bump and held up her scan photos. Their 2-year-old daughter, Mila, kissed Taylor's stomach as Riyad gently held onto his wife. Mila beamed as she also held onto the scan photos of her incoming brother or sister. The couple also filmed the touching moment they told Riyad's daughters about their happy news as the girls were handed photos at the same time. ‌ They shared a family hug before the girls set about the task of revealing if Taylor is expecting a boy or girl. Taylor has chosen to keep the result private for now, as their daughters dug into a cake that revealed either pink or blue depending on the gender of the baby. The couple were flooded with comments from their celebrity pals as TOWIE's Ferne McCann said: "Congrats x x x x." Love Island's Grace Jackson commented: "Congratulations." Model Roxy Horner wrote: "Congratulations babe," and Lottie Tomlinson gushed: "Yay congratulations." Earlier this year, the couple revealed their plans for a large family as Riyad admitted he "wants a football team" of children. ‌ 'Riyad would love a football team,' Taylor told the Mirror. 'He's a brilliant dad. He needs more kids, that's for sure.' Influencer Taylor first married footballer Riyad in 2022 in an intimate Muslim ceremony at home. The pair legally became husband and wife at The Londoner Hotel surrounded by 30 of their closest family and friends in September 2023. Their lavish final ceremony was in July 2024, just days after Mila's second birthday. 'I have three sisters, so I want to give Mila the same. I want her to have a big family,' said Taylor, who has a very close bond with her glamorous sisters Darby, Charlie and Aston. ‌ Mila will turn three in July, and Taylor told us she was ready to embark on another pregnancy – and spend sleepless nights with her newborn. 'I've got to carry the children and do the pregnancy, which is not easy,' said Taylor. 'The newborn stage is a lot more challenging than people think. "Those sleepless nights are probably what's made me hold off having another one straight away. But I'm definitely more ready now than I ever have been.' Of course with a husband earning an estimated £44million a year playing for Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli, Taylor has a nanny plus staff to help around their gorgeous home. However, she maintained she's still a very hands-on mum. 'I do have a nanny and I do have house help but we live abroad,' explained Taylor. 'I don't have any of my family, I don't have any of Riyad's family in Saudi so we have zero family support."
