Visakhapatnam: Aiming at public welfare plus inclusive development, the alliance government took up several measures in the past one year, emphasised TDP State president and Gajuwaka MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao.
As the wheels of door-to-door campaign 'Suparipalana lo Tholi Adugu' (the first step towards good governance) turned towards ward No: 67 in the city, the TDP State president asserted, 'We have already begun implementing flagship schemes such as increased pensions, free LPG cylinders, and the 'Thalliki Vandhanam' programme. Soon, initiatives like 'Annadata Sukhibhava' and free bus travel for women will also be introduced.'
The door-to-door drive was carried out to create awareness among people at the grassroots level about the key welfare schemes implemented by the newly-formed coalition government.
Highlighting the essence of the campaign, the MLA stated that the objective of 'Suparipalana lo Tholi Adugu' is to bring governance closer to the people, listening to their concerns and communicating the government's efforts in a transparent manner and rebuilding trust through action. 'The State which was in a bad shape during the YSRCP's tenure is being steered towards the path of development under the leadership of the coalition government,' Srinivasa Rao reiterated.
Assuring that every household in Gajuwaka would be covered under the welfare umbrella of the coalition government, Srinivasa Rao reiterated his commitment towards ensuring effective and timely delivery of all welfare schemes.
The MLA was accompanied by 67th ward corporator Chiranjeevi, Gajuwaka constituency in-charge P Srinivasa Rao along with mandal, village, and booth-level committee members and local party workers.

Jagan being protected as per Z+ protocol: Anitha

Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha asserted that there was no need to fuss over the security concerns of former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, as he is receiving adequate protection in accordance to the Z+ category norms. Speaking to the media on the sidelines of Vision-2047 deliberations held on Thursday, she accused the YSRCP's social media wing of misleading the public with frequent posts alleging security lapses during Mr. Jagan's tours in Kurnool, Prakasam and Guntur districts. She said: 'Mr. Jagan himself does not know what type of security he requires. It is unfair to claim that security arrangements are not being done as per Z+security norms. The issue is left to their wisdom.' She further added that Mr. Jagan consoled the family members of Singayya at his residence in an attempt to corner the government. It appears to be a novel form of 'Work from Home.' Earlier, Ms. Anitha alongside Minister for MSME, Kondapalli Srinivas said that Vizianagaram would witness rapid progress, as the government is prioritising the district's development in accordance to the Vision-2047 document. Later, they participated in 'Suparipalana-Toli Adugu' programme held in Bondapalli village of Gajapathinagaram constituency, represented by Mr. Srinivas. Ms. Anitha interacted with the locals and asked them if they were satisfied with the implementation of the welfare schemes, under the 'Super-Six' assurances given prior to the 2024 general elections.

Frequent transfers may hit GST collections, warns AP GST association leaders

Chowdary Purushottam Naidu, honorary president, AP GST Officers and Employees Association, has strongly opposed the transfer of all departmental staff on Thursday. He urged Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to intervene and protect the interests of the department and its employees, as the decision taken by higher authorities might lead to a decline in GST collections. According to a press release, he said that a delegation from the association requested Minister for Finance Payyavula Keshav, and TDP State president Palla Srinivasa Rao to bring the matter to the notice of the Chief Minister, noting that in the past three decades, no department in the State had experienced frequent and 100% transfers. Mr. Purushottam Naidu, along with the association's State president, Allina Ramesh Kumar, State associate president, Rayi Venugopal and general secretary Kalyan, interacted with Mr. Srinivasa Rao and urged him to use his good office to protect the interests of officials and staff concerned about the annual transfers. Mr. Purushottam Naidu said: 'Transferring all officials and staff hampers work since it takes a lot of time and effort to get acquainted with dealers, traders and others. Additionally, it is impossible for them to meet the GST targets.'

Jagan's popularity unshaken, says YSRCP leader at meet

Kurasala Kannababu, regional coordinator for the YSR Congress Party in the North Andhra region, urged all-party leaders and activists on Thursday to highlight the failures of the Chandrababu Naidu-led government and raise concerns over the partial implementation of the 'Super-Six' assurances made prior to the 2024 general elections. He, along with ex-minister Botcha Satyanarayana and YSRCP-Vizianagaram district and zilla parishad chairperson Majji Srinivasa Rao, reviewed the party activities in all mandals and villages over the last one year. Speaking at the event, he said that within a year, the NDA government had failed on all fronts and had lost the support of the people. He claimed that the participation of large crowds at the recent meetings held in Kurnool, Prakasam and Guntur districts by ex-chief minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy demonstrates that his image remains intact. Mr. Botcha Satyanarayana alleged that the government had intentionally ignored Mr. Jagan's security though it was supposed to ensure adequate security as per Z+ category norms. Under the 'Babu Surity-Mosam Guarantee' programme designed by the YSRCP high command, Mr. Majji Srinivasa Rao asked all leaders to take up door-to-door campaign to explain the government's failures. Former MLAs Kadubandi Srinivasa Rao, Sambangi China Venkata Appalanaidu and others were attended the meeting.
