Aidan O'Brien star forced to retire two months after winning €1.5million race
The colt, trained by Aidan O'Brien and sired by Wootton Bassett, also claimed victory at the highest level as a two year old, narrowly winning the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere against Rashabar.
After finishing third to his stablemate Henri Matisse in the French 2000 Guineas, the increase in distance proved beneficial for him in the €1.5million French Derby back in June.
The three-year-old was quite sore after pulling a shoe at Sandown during the Eclipse early last month. Plans for his stud career will be revealed soon.
O'Brien informed Coolmore: "Camille Pissarro pulled a shoe at Sandown and was quite sore afterwards.
"We had him X-rayed, and a fissure fracture was found in his fetlock. The decision was then made to retire him.
"Camille Pissarro was an extremely classy colt; he had speed and class. He won the Lagardere on Arc weekend last year at two, and then he showed everyone how good he was in the French Derby. He was very classy."

Brace for Twomey aboard Elana Osario and Super Sox at Mallow
Paddy Twomey and Aidan O'Brien both saddled a double on last night's quality card in Mallow, but Twomey earned the plaudits by taking the two feature races courtesy of Elana Osario and Super Sox. The listed NFP Irish EBF Platinum Stakes was up first and Super Sox, who won the race in 2024, stepped up considerably from her comeback run to land the spoils under Chris Hayes. While it was quite a tactical affair, which resulted in five horses crossing the line with just a length separating them and hard-luck stories aplenty, the race also likely didn't entirely suit the winner, but she showed an admirable attitude to forge ahead in the final strides. 'Paddy told me to keep it quite straightforward,' said Hayes. 'She's a lovely, big-actioned filly, and we thought the ground would suit. 'I was happy to go forward. If I was in front, I was in front, but when Dylan (McMonagle, on eventual runner-up Gutsy Girl) went forward, I rode it like a bit of work. 'I thought Paddy was fairly sweet on her, but I had had no luck for him since Billy (Lee) has been out. Everything I've ridden for him has finished placed but not won, so I'm delighted to get one for him because Billy will be back shortly.' Elana Osario completed the stable's 17-1 double with a similarly gutsy display in the feature, the Group 3 Irish Stallion Farms EBF Give Thanks Stakes. Island Hopping took her customary position at the head of affairs and for much of the trip it looked as though she would prevail. However, Colin Keane, who had his mount in second place from an early stage, got a great response from Elana Osario and she got on top close home despite shipping quite a heavy bump from the long-time leader. Aidan O'Brien and Jack Cleary's shared 59-1 double got up and running with Precise, who looked like a fine prospect when winning the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies' Maiden. After a quick break, she raced quite enthusiastically, but Cleary, who is proving great value for his 5lb claim, was able to keep a lid on her for as long as he needed. When asked, the filly quickened up sharply and raced to the line clear of Cape Sounion, who set a good standard but proved no match for this lady. 'She had a lovely run the first day, in Fairyhouse, with Wayne (Lordan),' said Ballydoyle representative Chris Armstrong. 'He liked her and thought stepping up to seven would help her. 'Jack gave her a lovely ride today. She jumped smartly, travelled, and made every post a winner. When Jack asked her, she really stretched to the line and wasn't for stopping. He said she was having a look in front, and that there is plenty more to come. 'There are form horses in behind her and she's a filly that has been held in high regard. 'She's well entered up: she's in the Moyglare, she's in the Rockfel, and she could also have the Ingabelle as an option. She'll be there for those good races at the backend, and is certainly one to look forward to. 'When you look at the year Starspangledbanner is having, it's incredible. We've only got a few of them, but when you look at Gstaad and look at her, you wouldn't mind a few more of them.' Two For Joy completed the Ballydoyle brace when making all the running and finding plenty to see off the frustrating Tswalu in the fillies' maiden over ten and a half furlongs. In the opening race, a juvenile maiden, a plunge on market leader Dawn Romance went down in the most agonising manner as her late charge failed by a head to catch 50-1 chance Soulful Diva. Despite the odds, David Marnane's filly wasn't without her supporters, and she stuck her head out gamely to land the spoils under Nathan Crosse. Sam Coen gave the Willie McCreery-trained Asdana a positive ride in the Curragh To Curragh Charity Cycle On Saturday August 30 Handicap and the 11-4 favourite responded generously to fend off the challenges of Titan Sun and Prairie Girl. In the finale, a one-mile handicap, the quick turnaround proved too much for Wednesday night winner Thegooseiscooked, who had to settle for third place behind the Pat Foley-trained and Niall McCullagh-ridden Famous Enough.

Why Gianluigi Donnarumma will struggle to get ANY Premier League transfer, despite showing up English clubs in Europe
His wages could scupper a move to another league too NOT FOR KEEPS Why Gianluigi Donnarumma will struggle to get ANY Premier League transfer, despite showing up English clubs in Europe GIANLUIGI DONNARUMMA has this habit of playing brilliantly against English clubs. So it might seem a bit weird that even though the Italian goalkeeper is dreaming of a big-money move to the Premier League from PSG, he might end up being left high and dry in the French capital. 11 Gianluigi Donnarumma is keen on a move to the Premier League Credit: Reuters 11 Pep Guardiola's Manchester City are the only club to have held talks over a move Credit: AFP 11 City have already splashed out on James Trafford this summer Credit: PA Play Dream Team now! Donnarumma broke England's hearts in the Euro 2020 final penalty shoot-out at Wembley by saving Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka's spot-kicks. In the Champions League last season, he continued his spell over England as he was outstanding against Aston Villa, Arsenal and Liverpool. This was a huge reason why PSG ended up winning the competition for the first time in their history. A player with just 12 months left on his contract, that has not stopped him from being dumped by PSG boss Luis Enrique for new arrival Lucas Chevalier. Donnarumma knows he is now toast at PSG. And he would love to play in England but the problem is that despite his fine reputation, he could still struggle to find a Premier League club. READ MORE FOOTBALL NEWS CUT LOU-SE Inside Andy Carroll & Lou Teasdale's split as pals reveal changes she asked for Right now, do not put any money on him appearing in English football's top-flight in September. The player's agent, Enzo Raiola said: 'It's true, the Premier League is very intriguing to us. I saw that many of my clients who play in the Premier League think it is the best step, being the most competitive league in the world. 'As of today, I have not received even the slightest hint from Italy that clubs could start negotiations for Gigio in this window. I won't exclude anything for the future, but so far no Italian clubs have stepped forward. 'On a purely financial level, nobody has the means to take a step towards Donnarumma.' Intriguingly, the only English club to express an interest so far are Manchester City although there have not been concrete talks. Watch Ruben Amorim's reaction when asked if Man Utd are signing PSG keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma This is despite the fact that Ederson, Stefan Ortega and the newly returned James Trafford are already at the club. Donnarumma makes some spectacular saves in big moments but equally, he is not great with the ball at his feet which is one reason why PSG manager Enrique has bombed him at PSG. And let's not forget that Donnarumma is not even that good at dealing with crosses. People might say he is the best keeper in the world but he really is not. He is decent, but Alisson at Liverpool and Real Madrid's Thibaut Courtois are better. 11 11 Donnarumma helped PSG to the Champions League title last term Credit: AP 11 Liverpool are sorted for goalkeepers with Alisson and Giorgi Mamardashvili Credit: Getty 11 Man United have Andre Onana who would need to leave first Credit: Getty Maybe if City sell Ederson, Donnarumma might have a chance of playing in England but this looks unlikely. So, elsewhere, what are his other options? Manchester United do not want to sign him, although even if they did, Ruben Amorim would have to move on Andre Onana first. And those huge Donnarumma wages would be a problem. Chelsea are not looking for a keeper. Neither are Arsenal, who are happy with David Raya. Liverpool have Alisson while new keeper Giorgi Mamardashvili has arrived from Valencia, having been bought a year ago. Newcastle have signed Aaron Ramsdale to compete with Nick Pope while Spurs are happy with Guglielmo Vicario. So, maybe Donnarumma could take the money and head off to Saudi Arabia but it would not be ideal for Italy that their team captain would be playing in the Middle East ahead of a World Cup. Although he will not sign a fresh deal at PSG, maybe he could still return to the side. This seems unlikely but his replacement, Chavalier, hardly covered himself in glory in the Uefa Super Cup against Spurs in Udine on Wednesday. Donnarumma is only 26 so maybe he will still get that dream move to the Premier League but right now, it looks as though it is unlikely to be this summer. 11 Donnarumma was Italy's penalty shootout hero against England in Euro 2020 Credit: AP 11 Lucas Chevalier has taken Donnarumma's spot at PSG Credit: Getty 11 Chelsea are happy with their stockpile of goalkeepers Credit: Alamy 11 Ruben Amorim may be left with his current options Credit: Getty
