August 13 - By Field Level Media Adolis Garcia was placed on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a sprained left ankle and the Texas Rangers activated fellow outfielder Evan Carter before the finale of their home series with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Garcia, 32, is batting .224 with 16 home runs and 64 RBIs this season. Carter, 22, last played on Aug. 1 and is batting .238 with four home runs and 21 RBIs this season. Carter had a .185 batting average in July. Carter, drafted out of high school with the 50th overall pick by the Rangers in 2020, was placed on the IL with a back injury.

Vikings WR Justin Jefferson (hamstring) to be re-evaluated next week
August 13 - By Field Level Media Minnesota Vikings star wide receiver Justin Jefferson will sit out this weekend's preseason game against the New England Patriots and be re-evaluated next week, head coach Kevin O'Connell said Wednesday. The four-time All-Pro has been sidelined since taking himself out of practice on July 24 with a strained left hamstring. "Just an update on Justin, you've seen him starting to take part in walk-throughs. He's definitely progressing and doing a great job there," O'Connell told the media on Wednesday ahead of the team's joint practice with the Patriots. "We hope to reassess early next week and see if we can start building on that workload." Jefferson, 26, missed seven games in 2023 with a torn right hamstring.
