Jenna Ortega and Tim Burton share details on 'Wednesday' S3 and potential 'Beetlejuice 3'
Director Tim Burton and star Jenna Ortega recently sat down with The Hollywood Reporter for an interview about the highly anticipated season season of the Netflix show, Wednesday, as well as news that the Netflix series would be getting a third season. During their chat, the director and star traded quotes about what fans can expect from the second season, Ortega discussing the controversy she found herself at the center of during press for Wednesday season 1, and the potential for a third Beetlejuice movie. Burton told THR that he was excited to continue the story because he doesn't typically do television. "It was the idea of exploring something on a longer time frame, and she's an interesting character," he said. "As much as a middle-aged man could feel like a teenage Wednesday Addams, I feel those things. And she's a character that's all about being subtle because she doesn't really have a huge range of emotions." Ortega agreed, and the conversation continued to discuss her accidental controversy in which she discussed "changing lines" and "had to put [her] foot down" because "everything [she] had to play did not make sense for the character." Looking back, she said she felt terrible about the way her words came across. "In no way did I mean to come across that way. I spend a lot of time in my head, and I have all these different trains of thought, and all I needed to say was, 'I improvise.' Also, nobody, before, ever cared what I said. It was a good lesson." The showrunner added that Ortega is now a producer on the show and has more creative control. The interviewer also mentioned the news from Warner Bros. Pictures co-chairman/CEO Mike De Luca stating that development for Beetlejuice 3 was "starting imminently." Neither Ortega nor Burton seemed to know what the interviewer was talking about. "Really? Nobody told me. Maybe I've been replaced," Burton said. "Maybe I've been, too. Maybe [her character] Astrid dies and goes to heaven instead [of the films' Netherworld]. They should just take Baby Beetlejuice on tour and send him to Hawaii," Ortega joined in to say. Burton said the sequel took 35 years to make, so he'd be 105 before the next movie got made. "It's like trying to re-create the Wednesday dance scene," Burton added, noting that he'd love to make a third movie but had reservations. "I love the characters, but I don't necessarily see it." Season 2 of Netflix's Wednesday will arrive to the streaming service in two parts: Part one on August 6 and part two on September 3. 'Class Act' - NFL Fans React To Josh Allen's Powerful Moment With U.S. Military
'Class Act' - NFL Fans React To Josh Allen's Powerful Moment With U.S. Military originally appeared on The Spun. Josh Allen has won over many NFL fans for his incredible play on the gridiron. The Buffalo Bills quarterback also has considerable support for his conduct off the field. Buffalo continued its training camp with an open practice on Tuesday. Allen showed his character through a couple of viral fan interactions. While signing autographs, Allen encountered a group of attendees in military regalia. Allen removed his cap and shook each of their hands before signing for them. Onlookers appreciated the gesture on social media. "Josh is a class act," a fan wrote. "So respectful," another fan said." "That's my QB," a Bills fan declared. Allen also delighted fans with another touching moment. He waved goodbye to the crowd of autograph-seekers when trying to walk away, but the Pro Bowler returned to console a crying young girl. The 29-year-old hugged her and signed something for her and a couple of other children nearby. "It is really, really, really, really hard not to like Josh Allen," a fan said. "Literally couldn't think of a better man to be the QB of this team and face of the city," a fan wrote. "He's the man." "He would sign autographs for everyone who wants one if it was physically possible," a Bills fan said. "He's just THAT guy. Wouldn't trade him for any other QB in the league, not in a million years." Allen has firmly established himself as the face of the Bills organization and one of the NFL's brightest stars. He's second to Patrick Mahomes in passing yards and touchdowns since the start of 2020. The former No. 7 pick beat out Lamar Jackson in a tight vote to win his first MVP award last season. Allen posted a league-best 77.3 QBR with 3,731 passing yards and 531 rushing yards, accounting for 40 total touchdowns. The Bills went 25 years without winning the AFC East before Allen led them to five consecutive division crowns. They've notched double-digit victories in each of the last six seasons, but Allen is still pursuing his first Super Bowl appearance. With fans assigning the Kansas City Chiefs a villain role, even neutral observers may be rooting for Allen to finally defeat Buffalo's conference rival and capture the Lombardi Trophy.'Class Act' - NFL Fans React To Josh Allen's Powerful Moment With U.S. Military first appeared on The Spun on Jul 29, 2025 This story was originally reported by The Spun on Jul 29, 2025, where it first appeared.
