BBC EastEnders' Denise Fox star Diane Parish's love split before finding love with ‘dream man'
BBC EastEnders' Diane Parish is the name on everyone's lips as her character, Denise Fox, has a big decision to make in the soap's live episode to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the show, which airs tonight, Thursday, February 20.. Although, she won't be making the decision, the general public will be. Voters will get the power to decide whether Denise Fox (Diane Parish) reunites with estranged husband Jack (Scott Maslen) or picks secret lover Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) in an interactive first for the soap.
Whilst her love life is in turmoil on the long-running soap opera, Diane, aged 54, prefers to keep her personal life private. When she's not in the public eye, Diane leads a peaceful family life, devoted to her two daughters, Kaya and Kenya.
Speaking frankly about the possibility of adding to her family, she told The Mirror: "No way! I've shut up shop. I'm done. I'm no spring chicken, you know. I feel very fortunate for having my lovely little girls. We're a very happy family."

Diane Parish, who hails from Tottenham, London, continues to embrace her North London roots. She has featured in numerous hit TV shows, but she's most celebrated for her role as the beloved Denise Fox in EastEnders, having appeared in over 1500 episodes of the iconic BBC soap. Denise Fox has certainly experienced her fair share of drama, with a string of unsuccessful relationships and three children to her name, not to mention being part of the notorious Six who were involved in Keanu's demise.
Away from the spotlight, Diane's personal life has seen its fair share of highs and lows. She is a mother to two children, whom she shares with her ex-husband Sebastian Parish, an IT specialist.
Diane, who's known for keeping her private life under wraps, surprisingly shared some personal details during a 2018 chat on Loose Women about her split from Sebastian. She told the panelists, "The last time I was here, I sort of got a bit ambushed with [questions about marriage] and, for the sake of my children, I didn't want to go into the break up with me and their father, and I'm usually quite a private person."
Diane went on to discuss how she's been safeguarding her daughters' privacy while navigating life post-separation: "I just wanted to protect my daughters by not discussing that, and I've been single quite a long time, I've been having fun, but I have now met the man of my dreams."
Parish then found love again with Gerry Zucarello, whom she met in 2017. Even though they announced their engagement back in 2018, it somehow slipped under the radar until two years later. This belated buzz over their engagement news tickled Diane and Gerry, as an insider revealed to OK!
The insider said: "Diane and Gerry are just laughing about it really he's been meaning to update his profile for months and now when he does, people didn't realise the date and they got a huge spate of 'congratulations! '"
However, they were a bit taken aback by the sudden media frenzy as they've been engaged for a couple of years now. They're still very much happily betrothed and found the recent news coverage somewhat puzzling – but that's the power of social media!
Gerry, who is employed by car giant Porsche and has three children from a previous relationship, reportedly popped the question to Diane during the Covid-19 lockdown, according to The Sun.
However, they decided to keep their joyful news hush-hush.

Frederick Forsyth, award-winning 'Day of the Jackal' thriller novelist, dies at 86
Frederick Forsyth, award-winning 'Day of the Jackal' thriller novelist, dies at 86 British author and journalist Frederick Forsyth, best known for thriller novels such as "The Day of the Jackal," "The Odessa File," "The Fourth Protocol" and "The Dogs of War," has died. He was 86. Forsyth, who reportedly sold more than 70 million copies of his books, died on Monday, June 9, at his home in Jordans, England, Penguin Random House representative Alexis Welby confirmed to USA TODAY. Forsyth's literary agent, Jonathan Lloyd, did not specify the writer's cause of death but told The New York Times that he died following a "short illness." Forsyth's signature style, which consisted of exhilarating portraits of international political affairs, was inspired by the author's real-life journalism career. Following a stint in the Royal Air Force, Forsyth worked as a reporter for publications such as the Eastern Daily Press, Reuters and the BBC. Forsyth worked as a correspondent at the BBC until 1968. He was reassigned from his role after criticizing British aid to Nigeria during the Biafran War. His debut novel, 1969's "The Biafran Story," was a nonfiction account of the Nigerian civil conflict. Forsyth also made an impact on the silver screen. Several of his novels — 1971's "The Day of the Jackal," 1972's "The Odessa File," 1974's "The Dogs of War" and 1984's "The Fourth Protocol" — were adapted into hit films. Critics hail Celine Song's ‘Materialists' as an ‘exquisitely made' modern love story — not a ‘glossy romantic comedy'
Writer-director Celine Song's sophomore feature, Materialists, may not match the awards buzz of her Oscar-nominated debut, Past Lives, but critics remain impressed with the filmmaker's storytelling prowess. In Materialists, Dakota Johnson plays Lucy, an ambitious New York City matchmaker who finds herself torn between the perfect match — the tall, handsome, and wealthy Harry (Pedro Pascal) — and her imperfect ex, John (Chris Evans). Early reviews for the film have been positive, earning it a "certified fresh" rating with an 86 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes. "Generally favorable" reviews compiled by Metacritic resulted in an overall score of 73 percent. More from GoldDerby Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro reunite, tease 'Meet the Parents 4' 'Heartwarming' yet 'bloated': Film critics are mixed on 'How to Train Your Dragon' live-action remake 'She's got tunnel vision': Wendi McLendon-Covey reveals what she loves most about her character Joyce on 'St. Denis Medical' Billed as a romcom, Materialists defies traditional genre conventions, with critics noting that Song's filmmaking style elevates the film beyond the familiar tropes of romantic comedy. Caryn James (BBC) wrote, "Materialists is exquisitely made, character-driven and talky, with some glittering dialogue. It's the kind of idiosyncratic film a director sometimes gets to do after a great success and Song makes the most of it." James added that the romantic comedy "is hardly a romcom at all, but something far more original and captivating: a piercingly honest exploration of love and money and the inevitable connection between the two." The Hollywood Reporter's David Rooney calls it, "A refreshingly complex look at modern love, self-worth and the challenges of finding a partner in an unaffordable city, which once again treats three points of a romantic triangle with equal integrity and compassion." Variety's Owen Gleiberman wrote, "While it's all too easy to imagine the breezy '90s version of this movie, Materialists is very much not that movie. It's a sharp and serious social romantic drama full of telling observations about the way we live now." William Babbiani of The Wrap warns not to judge the film by its trailer. "It's exceptionally intelligent and biting filmmaking," he writes. "If you go into Materialists expecting a glossy romantic comedy — as the trailer for Materialists strongly implies, cutesy 'Material Girl' cover and all — you may emerge deeply disappointed. If you go in expecting a pointed exploration of the commodification of modern romance, you may be deeply impressed." Not all reviews for Materialists, however, are glowing. Kristen Lopez (The Film Maven) wrote, "Materialists is as shallow as its characters, but so desperately wants to think it isn't. The script is all over the place, and when it finally settles into a groove there still seems to be pieces missing." Justin Chang of The New Yorker wasn't impressed either, noting, "I don't buy it, Jane Austen wouldn't buy it, and deep down I don't think Song buys it. In attempting to merge escapist pleasures with financial realities, Materialists trips up on its own high-mindedness." Materialists opens in theaters on June 13.
