My advice for you is to get out and enjoy this weather through Saturday. Dew points will be in the moderate range, but are down from the string of high tropical air mass days we have seen recently. One of the best ways to measure humidity at the surface (where we are) is through the dew point.

Dew points had been averaging around 70 degrees over the past 10 days. Today, they have dipped into the mid to low 60s across the region. The 5° difference will be noticeable for those stuck outside today. That means that even on a day like today, where I expect highs to hit the mid-80s, you'll be a lot less sticky and sweaty if stuck outside.

Speaking of the weather, highs today, Thursday & Friday will hit the mid-80s with humidity levels in the moderate to even low range. July 4th is looking like the pick of the week with humidity levels dipping down to near 60°. Highs will still hit the mid-80s.
Temperatures do warm up this weekend with highs near 90 on both Saturday and Sunday. Humidity levels will climb up to the 'high humidity' level on Sunday, with those conditions sticking around through next Tuesday.

Heat advisory issued for most of Massachusetts through Monday; maps show how hot it will feel
After a relatively comfortable July 4th, the extreme heat is returning to Massachusetts and the National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory because of how hot it will feel through Monday. The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for most of southern New England Sunday at 7 a.m. through Monday at 8 p.m., given the threat for heat indices of 95-100 degrees. This system is not expected to gain too much more strength aside from having a steady rainy and windy thumbprint as it crawls up the Atlantic seaboard. However, an approaching cold front from the west will nudge this system back east but also cause steadier rain and rumbles throughout Tuesday late afternoon and evening. As Fourth of July weekend continues, practice safety with fireworks
Data from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission shows that 11 people nationwide died from fireworks last year, and thousands more were sent to the emergency room for injuries. "Always know where it's going to land. Light one at a time," said Salem Township Fire Chief Jim Rachwal. Rachwal says he is already expecting calls concerning fireworks over the weekend. "This is an explosive you are working with. It's at the consumer level. But nonetheless, it's at a consumer level. So treat it as such," he said. Experts advise paying close attention to where you're launching or landing the displays. "Grasses are the most brittle and driest, so if you are around some dry grasses, they are drier than you think," said Michigan DNR fire management specialist Jeff Corser. According to Michigan state law, it's illegal to use fireworks on public property, like streets and sidewalks. It's also illegal to be intoxicated while using fireworks. Each community may have its own restrictions, so it's best to check with them before proceeding. "Fill up the five-gallon bucket of water and dump the empty carcasses in there. Let it sit there for 15 minutes, and then it's out," Rachwal said. As nightfall comes, that's peak timing for fireworks usage. Items like sparklers may seem harmless, but they can still burn at a high temperature. "That's [sparklers] burning at 2,000 degrees; we don't want anyone going to the emergency room," Rachwal said.

Tropical Storm Chantal Forms in Atlantic
Tropical storm Chantal has developed in the Atlantic from that tropical area of disturbance we have been tracking for you for the last week. It is projected to make landfall tomorrow during the later half of the morning hours in South Carolina between Charleston and the border of North carolina. It is projected to remain a weak tropical storm, with winds peaking at 45 mph in the early morning hours on Sunday. This area of South Carolina is prone to flooding and that will be the largest concern with this tropical storm. Rain totals between 2 and 5 inch of rain will be possible. The track will take it up into North Carolina by Sunday evening and continue to bring heavy rain in the eastern half of that state. There is no direct impact for us in central Florida. However we are still tracking tropical moisture that will continue to feed us heavy rain today and tomorrow before we return to a normal summer pattern starting Monday. It is projected to make landfall tomorrow during the latter half of the morning hours in South Carolina between Charleston and the border of North Carolina.
