Rajinikanth's latest release, Coolie, has made a strong impact at the box office, reportedly earning Rs 320 crore within just three days of its release. The film is receiving widespread appreciation, with several cast members gaining renewed attention. Among them is celebrated Kannada actor and director Upendra Rao, who portrays the character 'Kaliesha', a role that has resonated well with fans. At 57-years-old, Upendra Rao is known as a multifaceted talent in the Kannada film industry. In addition to acting, he has worked as a director, screenwriter, lyricist, playback singer, and producer, and has also ventured into politics. With a portfolio including over 60 acting credits and 10 directorial ventures, Coolie marks his debut in Tamil cinema. Interestingly, Upendra's wife, Priyanka Upendra, is no stranger to Tamil audiences. A native of Kolkata, Priyanka Upendra made her debut in Bengali cinema as Priyanka Trivedi with the 1997 film Jodhaa and later acted in Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, and Tamil films. She entered Tamil cinema in 2002, starring in Rajjiyam opposite Vijayakanth. After her marriage to Upendra, whom she met while filming their first Telugu film Raa (2001), Priyanka Upendra gradually shifted her focus back to Kannada and Bengali cinema. Her last on-screen appearance was a special role in the 2004 film Gauri. Param Sundari New Song Out: Sidharth Malhotra Calls Sunn Mere Yaar Ve 'My Kind Of Love Song'
Three songs in, and the trailer opening to an overwhelming response, Param Sundari continues to build anticipation. Sunn Mere Yaar Ve Song Out: The music of Param Sundari has been a talking point since its release, because of its varied sonic range and how it effortlessly blends nostalgia with a contemporary vibe. After the success of Pardesiya and Bheegi Saree, the third track from the film got dropped today, and it's a marked departure from the first two tracks. The composer duo Sachin Jigar has roped in Aditya Rikhari for the third track — Sunn Mere Yaar Ve. If Pardesiya was a hark-back to the soft love song of the 90s, and Bheegi Saaree was a sizzling ode to the classic rain song of Bollywood, Sunn Mere Yaar Ve is a very urban love song, with a fresh contemporary vibe. The video has Sidharth Malhotra lip-syncing to Aditya's soulful voice as he expresses what true love means to him for his Sundari, played by Janhvi Kapoor. The video has some beautifully shot montages of the lead pair, making it an arresting watch. With its catchy hook line, words that will resonate with Gen-Z audiences and strong visuals, Sunn Mere Yaar Ve promises to be the next favourite from the album, striking a chord with music lovers across all moods. Aditya Rikhari, sharing his excitement, said: 'Being a part of Param Sundari feels truly special. Sunn Mere Yaar Ve is my new Bollywood song, and I'm grateful to be a part of this film that I myself was looking forward to. Collaborating with someone like Sachin–Jigar, whom I deeply respect, has been an incredible experience. Siddharth and Jahnvi's chemistry looks just amazing on screen, and I can't wait for listeners to vibe with the track the way I did while creating it. ' Sidharth Malhotra praised Aditya's voice and the track, saying: 'Sunn Mere Yaar Ve is my kind of love song—the kind that lingers long after you've heard it. Bringing this emotion alive on screen was truly special, and I've always felt that love melodies have a unique place in my journey. Aditya's soulful touch adds an extra charm to the track, and I hope fans experience that same magic when they watch and listen to it. ' Gaurav Chaturvedi, VP, Head of Commercial Music – Universal Music Group, said: Aditya Rikhari is one of the most popular singers in today's times, and he resonates with the youth all across. To have him sing this song, with the melody of Sachin-Jigar, Amitabh Bhattacharya's words, and of course, the scene-stealing visual chemistry of Sidharth and Jahnvi – we have a potential chartbuster in our hands. We are really excited to bring this song out as a part of the Param Sundari soundtrack. ' Three songs in, and the trailer opening to an overwhelming response, Param Sundari continues to build anticipation, leaving fans eagerly awaiting the full album and full film experience First Published: August 18, 2025, 14:07 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
