Also fighting in the Bantamweight knockout tournament is EFC star and Zimbabwe's unbeaten Simbarashe Hokonya, who will face another undefeated prospect in Cameroon's Alain Majorique.
In the Heavyweight bracket, South Africa's Justin Clarke meets Majorique's compatriot Jashell Ticha Awa, while Senegal's Abdoullah Kane clashes with Morocco's Mohammad Ben Yahia.
In a showcase Women's Strawweight bout, the dangerous and unbeaten Nigerian Juliet Ukah faces South Africa's Ceileigh Niedermayr, a seasoned competitor under the bright international lights.

Artur Zaynukov returns to the PFL following an impressive showing at Battle of the Giants, aiming to extend his win streak to six. He faces RIZIN veteran Takeshi Izumi of Japan, a decorated wrestler who earned a unanimous decision over Spike Carlyle in his most recent outing.
Headlining the evening is undefeated Middleweight World Champion Johnny 'Pressure' Eblen, who puts his perfect record and title on the line against Spain's surging contender Costello 'The Spaniard' van Steenis (16-3).
In the co-main event, Women's Flyweight phenom 'Dangerous' Dakota Ditcheva, widely considered one of the top pound-for-pound female fighters in MMA, takes on Hawaii's elite striker Sumiko 'Lady Samurai' Inaba in a thrilling penultimate bout.
In July 2024, the PFL announced its third international league—PFL Africa—following the launches of PFL Europe and PFL MENA, with the aim of showcasing African talent on the global stage.
Former UFC Heavyweight and current global combat superstar, Cameroon's Francis Ngannou, serves as acting chairman of the league. He will also take on a pivotal ambassadorial role to grow the Professional Fighters League in the Motherland and develop the next generation of African champions.
'Kicking off the PFL Champions Series in Cape Town alongside the launch of PFL Africa reflects our commitment to grow the sport of MMA throughout the continent, as well as provide pathways for African fighters to compete on a global stage and become champions,' says Peter Murray, CEO of the Professional Fighters League.

Tshegofatso Mabasa exit rumours grow as Orlando Pirates struggle without star striker
Left out Orlando Pirates' top goalscorer for the last two seasons, Tshegofatso Mabasa, was absent from the squad in their league loss to Sekhukhune United on Saturday. Photo: BackpagePix Image: BackpagePix Orlando Pirates are facing the real possibility of losing star striker Tshegofatso Mabasa, with clubs across the continent circling. Despite being Pirates' top goalscorer for the last two seasons, Mabasa has not made the matchday squad for any of the club's games so far this season. After leaving him out of the league opener against Sekhukhune United, head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou explained that he was left out due to a selection decision. In his place, 22-year-old Boitumelo Radiopane was selected to start, with 23-year-old Yanela Mbuthuma playing off the bench. The absence of Mabasa has led to struggles for Pirates. They were beaten 1-0 by Sekhukhune last weekend and lost 2-1 to Marumo Gallants on Tuesday, increasing the pressure on the new coach. Next Stay Close ✕ These early setbacks have coincided with speculation over Mabasa's future, with his agent, Gary Cassisa, confirming there is interest in the 28-year-old. "Yes, there has been interest from Mas Fez," said Cassisa. For a side already short on goals, losing their most reliable finisher could prove disastrous. 'But Tshegofatso Mabasa remains committed to Orlando Pirates only. He is closing in on the club's all-time leading goalscorer record and would like to make history with the Soweto giants," said the agent, as quoted by Soccer Laduma. With the club taking on Mamelodi Sundowns in the semi-finals of the MTN8 this weekend, Pirates will need to be at their best as they look to win the competition for a fourth straight season. Whether Mabasa is involved remains to be seen. Pirates' fate in the MTN8 could hinge on how they cope without their talisman. If Mabasa is absent, Ouaddou will need his squad to step up and find new ways to create and convert chances. The clash with Sundowns will not only test the team's depth and resilience but could also set the tone for how Pirates navigate a season shadowed by uncertainty over one of their most influential players. Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates to have new coaches by next Soweto Derby
On borrowed time? With uncertainty over Nasreddine Nabi and Abdeslam Ouaddou, IOL Sport speculates that both Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates will be under new coaches before the next Soweto derby in February. Photo: BackpagePix Image: BackpagePix One of the first things many football fans in South Africa do when the fixtures for the new season come out is look when the first Soweto derby will be played. The Soweto derby is the biggest game on the South African calendar, regardless of how Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs are playing. If the two clubs don't meet in the Carling Knockout, their first encounter will unfortunately be played in February of next year — February 28, to be exact. Judging by the events of recent weeks, both clubs could go into the game with new head coaches. Pirates have had a nightmare start to the new campaign. They opened with an MTN8 win over Polokwane City, but things have worsened since. Get your news on the go, click here to join the IOL News WhatsApp channel. Video Player is loading. Next Stay Close ✕ They lost 1-0 in their league opener against Sekhukhune United, and were beaten 2-1 by Marumo Gallants on Tuesday. Both results have put a massive amount of pressure on Abdeslam Ouaddou, and fans and pundits have already begun to question if he's the right man to lead the club. When Jose Riveiro left at the end of last season, they were in a good place, and were hoping to put together the final pieces that would help them challenge Mamelodi Sundowns for the league title. Pirates have lacked identity in recent games, and Ouaddou's team selections have also come under scrutiny. Tshegofatso Mabasa, the club's top goal scorer over the last two seasons, has not been called upon, while the immensely talented Thalente Mbatha has also been excluded from matchday squads. In their game against Gallants, Ouaddou did something that baffled many fans — he started the game with Relebohile Mofokeng on the bench, robbing the team of one of their most potent attackers. Many fans have since voiced their dissatisfaction, and it's only a matter of time before they start calling for him to be shown the door. While Soweto's other club have had a better start to the season, speculation about Nabi's future refuses to go away. Chiefs kicked off their campaign in impressive fashion last weekend when they beat Stellenbosch FC in Athlone. But it was assistant coach Khalil Ben Youssef who was on the touchline. On top of that, several reports claim the relationship between Nabi and the club soured after a meeting before the campaign kicked off. It remains to be seen what happens when Nabi returns to South Africa after spending time in Tunisia attending to an urgent family matter. The derby has always been more than just a match – it's a statement of pride and identity and who really rules Soweto. But with both Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs caught in the storm of coaching uncertainty, February's clash could be shaped as much by boardroom decisions as by performances on the pitch. If either side hopes to emerge from that day with more than just bragging rights, the hard decisions will need to be made long before the first whistle blows. This new logo holds far more symbolism, with the hoops of the jersey making up an icon that represents the unity of the various communities that support our team. But this is about far more than just a logo. This is a statement about how we see ourselves and the way we connect with those who support us. We want all of them with us every step of the way as we break new ground.' Director of Rugby John Dobson emphasized that the new identity aligns with the Stormers' broader mission to 'make Cape Town smile.' 'This team is one of the best-supported in the world. We have some of the most vibrant rugby communities and no shortage of passion at every level. This is a big step forward in many ways as we take the DHL Stormers from being a rugby team to so much more.
