JPJ Negeri Sembilan issued 3,044 notices during Op HRAA 2025
Its director, Hanif Yusabra Yusuf, said that through the operation, a total of 8,437 vehicles were inspected and action was taken against 1,342 vehicles.
He said that 2,191 JPJ (P) 22 notices were issued, followed by 333 investigation notices under Section 114 of the Road Transport Act 1987; 216 inspection orders under Section 61(1); 160 vehicle prohibition notices; 45 weighing orders under Section 82(1) of the Land Public Transport Act (APAD) 2010; 92 other notices; and seven APAD notices.
'For offences based on categories, a total of 973 offences involving vehicle licensing were recorded, followed by driver licensing (680), technical issues (625), major offences (371), other offences (269) and goods offences (125),' he said in a statement here today.
According to him, among the main offences detected were failure to obey traffic lights with 121 cases, not wearing seat belts (83), driving heavy vehicles in the fast lane (60), driving in the emergency lane (32), not wearing helmets (27), queue-jumping (23), using mobile phones (19), and overtaking on double lines (six).
He added that 75 vehicles were seized while 97 notices were issued to foreign drivers for various offences.

TAWAU: A 43-year-old woman who was seriously injured after being hit by a four-wheel-drive vehicle while jogging with friends at Mile 9, Jalan Apas on August 9, has died from her injuries. After battling for her life for nine days, Darna Tajudin succumbed to her injuries, a tragic end to what began as a routine evening jog with friends. Acting Tawau District Police Chief Supt Champin Piuh said Darna, who had been receiving treatment at the Tawau Hospital, was pronounced dead by medical staff at about 8.37am on Sunday. 'At this time, police cannot determine the exact cause of death as we are awaiting the autopsy results,' he said. The case classification has been upgraded from Section 44(1)(a) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for driving under the influence causing injury, to Section 44(1)(b) for driving under the influence of alcohol above the prescribed limit resulting in death. 'If convicted, the penalty ranges from 10 to 15 years imprisonment and a fine of not less than RM50,000 and not exceeding RM100,000,' he said. The accident happened at about 9.10pm when Darna was jogging with friends from Bandar Sri Indah at Mile 10, Jalan Apas toward the T2 area at Mile 2. A 57-year-old male driver, suspected of being intoxicated, first collided with a multi-purpose vehicle driven by a 39-year-old man who was traveling from Taman Ria 11 to Tawau Airport. The collision caused the four-wheel-drive vehicle to veer out of control onto the left shoulder of the road, where it crashed into Darna and her jogging companions. Miri police seize 18 motorcycles, issue 101 summonses in 'Op Samseng Jalanan'

MIRI (Aug 18): Eighteen motorcycles were seized and 101 summonses issued during 'Op Samseng Jalanan' held at several locations here last night. Miri district police chief ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah said the operation, which was conduct by the district police headquarters' Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division, took place along Jalan Bandaraya Miri, Jalan Marina, Jalan Miri-Bypass, Jalan Tanjung Lobang and Jalan Tudan. 'During the operation, a total of 35 vehicles were inspected. Of these, 18 motorcycles were seized under Section 60 of the Road Transport Act 1987 for being modified from their original structure and for further inspection. 'Additionally, 42 individuals were screened and 101 summonses under PDRM (K) 257 were issued for various traffic offences,' he said in the statement last night. Mohd Farhan added that the operation will continue to be carried out from time to time to remind road users, especially motorcyclists, to always drive and ride responsibly, remain alert, avoid illegal racing and refrain from modifying vehicles from the original specifications. Lorry driver arrested for reckless driving and obstructing police
NIBONG TEBAL: A lorry driver was arrested for reckless driving during a police chase and for obstructing authorities from inspecting his vehicle during an integrated operation on Saturday night. The incident unfolded during a police operation targeting street thugs, codenamed Op Samseng Jalanan, near the Jawi toll plaza at about 11.30pm. During the operation, the police spotted two tipper lorries being driven suspiciously. Seberang Prai Selatan district police chief Superintendent Jay January Siowou said that when the drivers were signalled to stop, both ignored police orders and sped off towards Nibong Tebal's main road. He added that one of the lorries ran a red light at Bukit Panchor and nearly collided with a policeman stationed at the intersection. "The driver continued to flee, driving dangerously along Jalan Transkrian, before the vehicle was intercepted and apprehended by police with assistance from mobile patrol vehicles and police motorcycle patrol units at Jalan Sungai Daun in Kampung Ladang Kalidonia. "Initial investigations showed that the suspect did not have a valid driving license or Goods Driver's License (GDL). "Further checks indicated that the vehicle's road tax had expired, although its insurance remained valid," he said in a statement on Sunday. Jay added that the suspect tested negative for drugs during a urine screening and that the vehicle had been seized. The case is being investigated under Section 186 of the Penal Code for obstructing a public servant and Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving. "We want to remind the public that reckless driving is a serious offence that can result in fatal accidents, and we will not hesitate to take stern action," he said. Jay said police would intensify enforcement efforts, particularly operations targeting dangerous drivers, to ensure the safety of all road users.
