Search for witnesses to Northampton crash which killed man, 81
Detectives have made a second appeal for witnesses to a crash outside a hotel which killed an 81-year-old man.It happened in Bridge Street, in front of the Plough Hotel, in Northampton on the evening of 1 April.A passenger in a Hyundai car was taken to University Hospital Coventry where he died from his injuries 11 days later.Northamptonshire Police say no arrests have been made in connection with the investigation.
The collision occurred at around 18:30 BST and involved a blue Hyundai Ioniq and a silver Mercedes C-Class car.The man who died came from Market Harborough.The police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident, or has dash-cam footage of any part of it to get in touch.

Barton Seagrave crash leaves motorcyclist with serious injuries
A motorcyclist has been seriously injured in a collision involving a car on a village road. The crash happened at about 20:20 BST on Saturday on Barton Road in Barton Seagrave, near Kettering, according to Northamptonshire force said the motorcyclist, a man in his 30s, was riding a red Aprilia Shiver which collided with a white Ford was taken to University Hospital Coventry with serious injuries. Police announce major development in search for missing teenage girl
The flatmates of a missing teenager have been charged with her murder. Police arrested 17-year-old Pheobe Bishop's housemates, James Wood and Tanika Bromley in Bundaberg, Australia today. Both Wood and Bromley were arrested on Thursday night local time and have been charged with one count each of murder and two counts each of interfering with a corpse. The teenager's disappearance has gripped Australia since she vanished 21 days ago. Pheobe, who had been living with the couple and cops believe the teen was supposed to have boarded a 8.30am flight to Brisbane then onto Perth to meet up with her boyfriend. Detectives have suggested the pair drove Pheobe for 40 minutes to Bundaberg Airport but new CCTV footage has emerged in her case. Queensland Police said: 'Detectives have charged a 34-year-old man and 33-year-old woman with murder in relation to the disappearance of 17-year-old Pheobe Bishop. 'Pheobe has not been seen or heard from since May 15. The remains of Pheobe Bishop have not been located to date.' Police continue to appeal for dashcam or CCTV footage of Ms Bromley's grey Hyundai ix35 the trio were travelling in, revealing it was a key component of the investigation into the teen's disappearance. CCTV has shown a car, similar to the one Pheobe had been travelling in before she vanished, driving through Gin Gin at 10.30am the day she was last seen - two hours after the teen was thought to have been dropped off at the airport.

Julia Ashton, 59, who has won awards at dog shows including Crufts, told how she had a lifelong love of animals. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up She revealed her pug Mr Darcy feasted on steak, organic chicken and salmon and had a wardrobe of designer clothes. Ashton, of Newmilns, Ayrshire, was nabbed by traffic cameras as she drove her Mercedes Benz e-Class car through roadworks on the M74 near Lesmahagow, Lanarkshire. She was found to have been been the wheel while disqualified and having no insurance in December last year. Sheriff Siobhan Connelly gave her a two-year driving ban and placed her under supervision for a year at Lanark Sheriff Court. A hearing was told that the conviction could have an impact on her job. Alanah Campbell, defending, said: "She is a self-employed dog trainer and is likely to lose her employment as a result of this. "It is unlikely that this will be repeated again in the future and she understands that she will be disqualified from driving for a long period of time." Sheriff Connelly told Ashton: "Your driving record causes me concern and it is a matter of concern that you did not adhere to the rules and drove. "Holding a driving licence is a privilege and you need to comply with road traffic regulations. "Given the nature of the offence the appropriate disqualification period is three years but I will modify that to two years." A charge which alleged she had been speeding on the motorway was dropped by prosecutors. Ashton had earlier told how she spoiled her pet. She said: "Mr Darcy is certainly up there with the most pampered pets in Scotland. 'He gets plenty of steak, plenty of exercise, plenty of attention - what more could a dog ask for? I've had dogs all my life. 1 Julia Ashton outside Lanark Sheriff Court "I grew up with a menagerie of animals, from rabbits and ponies to cats, chickens and guinea pigs. "I'm very used to having pets around and knowing how they like to be treated. People sometimes laugh at the life of luxury Mr Darcy has but having a dog is a serious matter."
