[Watch] RM685k Terrace Home Comes With ‘Free Pickleball Court'

Subscribe to our FREE A real estate agent in Kuching, Sarawak, recently went viral after showcasing what might be the world's most hilariously oversized terrace house garage – and honestly, we're not even sure if 'garage' is the right word anymore. The Federal Park Phase 2 property, priced at RM685,000, features a car porch so absurdly long that it took the agent nearly a full minute to walk from the front gate to the actual house. We're talking about a driveway that could comfortably park 10 cars in a single file, or as one commenter joked, 'suitable for bus and lorry drivers.' Malaysian online community, never ones to miss a comedic opportunity, immediately flooded the comments with increasingly creative suggestions for the space: 'Can build a pickleball court in front!' 'Perfect for badminton courts' 'Suitable as an airport runway' 'Can rent out the parking space' 'Build another house in the car park area' One particularly witty observer noted that taking out the trash would be 'like going to the gym,' while another pointed out that even thieves would be too lazy to rob the place – they'd need a bicycle to reach the front door. The Math is Mathing (Sort Of) Perhaps the most savage comment came from someone who broke down the economics: 'RM400k for the house, RM285k for the porch.' When you put it that way, you're essentially buying premium real estate that comes with a small house attached. Jokes aside, this setup actually solves a real problem for Malaysian families. As the agent noted, most terrace house residents struggle with parking – multiple cars per household mean someone's always stuck parking on the street. This place? You could host a small car show. The property also opens up legitimate business opportunities – that space could genuinely work as a small event venue, storage facility, or yes, even a sports court. One person's architectural quirk is another person's entrepreneurial goldmine. For families tired of playing musical chairs with parking spots, or entrepreneurs looking for built-in commercial space, this might just be the most practical 'weird' house in Malaysia. JPJ Sarawak seizes 28 luxury vehicles this month, warns other owners to renew road tax and insurance

The Toyota Landcruiser driven by the woman was seized at the JPJ Sarawak Complex. – JPJ Sarawak photo KUCHING (Aug 21): The Road Transport Department (JPJ) has seized 28 luxury vehicles of various makes and models in Sarawak under its Ops Kenderaan Mewah this month. JPJ Sarawak said the seizures were made after the vehicles were found to have committed multiple offences, primarily involving expired road tax and the absence of valid insurance coverage, both of which are offences under the Road Transport Act 1987. 'This type of offence should not occur, especially involving vehicles that are symbols of status and luxury,' JPJ Sarawak stressed in a statement yesterday. The department said it believes there are still luxury vehicles in the state being driven without renewed road tax and insurance coverage. 'Therefore, JPJ Sarawak urges all vehicle owners, especially luxury vehicle owners, to always ensure that their road tax and insurance coverage are renewed before using their vehicles on the road. 'JPJ Sarawak will not compromise with any violation of the law that could pose safety risks to other road users,' said the department. Meanwhile, a woman accompanying her boyfriend to reclaim his luxury multipurpose vehicle (MPV) that had been seized earlier found the vehicle she was driving also failed a JPJ inspection. Checks revealed that the Toyota Land Cruiser had no valid road tax or insurance, and it was subsequently seized on the spot at the JPJ Sarawak Complex here yesterday (Aug 20). 'The situation before JPJ enforcement officers was akin to 'surrendering', and more ironically, the woman had come to the JPJ Complex to send her boyfriend who intended to reclaim his Toyota Vellfire that had earlier been seized under the same operation,' said the department. JPJ stressed that the incident underscored its commitment to continue Ops Kenderaan Mewah consistently to ensure full compliance with road traffic laws by luxury vehicle owners and drivers. The department reminded the public to always ensure their road tax is renewed and insurance coverage is valid before using their vehicles. 'Negligence in this aspect not only invites legal action but may also endanger the safety of the driver and other road users,' JPJ added. JPJ Sarawak lead luxury vehicles Ops Kenderaan Mewah

Company director fined RM10,000 for submitting false bank statement

KUALA LUMPUR: A company director received a RM10,000 fine from the Sessions Court today for submitting a falsified bank statement during a commercial vehicle licence application. Judge Suzana Hussin imposed the penalty on thirty-eight year old Loh Jui Chew after he pleaded guilty to an alternative charge. Loh promptly paid the fine following the court's decision. He faced charges under Section 471 of the Penal Code for using a counterfeit Maybank statement during his application at the Land Public Transport Agency office. The offence carries a maximum penalty of two years imprisonment or a fine or both upon conviction. Loh submitted the fraudulent document to APAD on 15 September 2022 while applying for a commercial vehicle licence. Court documents revealed that Loh operates JC Tech Advance Auto Sdn Bhd, a management service business established in 2019. His company provides services related to APAD, the Computerised Vehicle Inspection Centre and the Road Transport Department. A man approached Loh at his Melaka office on 10 August 2022 seeking assistance with a commercial vehicle licence application. The application required several documents including a Companies Commission of Malaysia submission, three-month bank statements, a vehicle parking site letter and a work contract letter. Loh proceeded to falsify the man's Maybank account statement between August and September 2022. He submitted the fabricated documents along with the application to the Central Region APAD counter officer. The APAD Licensing Committee approved the application on 21 September 2022 before discovering the fraud. Deputy Public Prosecutor Elyza Amira Habeeb Rahman from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission prosecuted the case. Defence lawyer Alvin Tan Keng Yi represented Loh during the court proceedings. – Bernama
