There have been a couple of statements by the RCB but not a single word from Diageo yet. Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. reached out to the company last night with a very specific set of questions - reaction to the Bengaluru stampede, reason for the company's silence, whether they were satisfied with the arrangements made by the RCB and whether it mars the end of 18-year-long wait for a title - but there has been no response yet. The story will be updated the moment they share a response. Gautam Gambhir sends stern message after Bengaluru tragedy The Bengaluru Police have already swung into action and have arrested RCB's marketing head earlier on Friday morning. Apart from Sosale, three employees of DNA Entertainment Networks were also arrested. The police, in the FIR, have claimed that they denied RCB the permission to conduct the parade at the Chinnaswamy. Further investigation and rounds of questioning will reveal what actually transpired on June 4. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) continues to maintain that the event was organised by the RCB and they had no role to play in it. IPL Governing Council Chairman Arun Dhamal has asserted that he alerted the RCB officials when things went out of control outside the cricket ground. Meanwhile, the event inside continued even when chaos prevailed. During a press conference on June 5, India head coach Gautam Gambhir minced no words on the tragedy in Bengaluru. When I was playing, I had the same statement even after winning the 2007 (T20 World Cup)… The lives of people are far more important and I will continue to say that,' Gambhir said ahead of the team's departure for England. 'What has happened is very tragic. My heart goes out to the families who have lost their loved ones,' he said. 'I hope in the future nothing like this happens because I think we all are responsible citizens. We should take care of all this,' Gambhir added. It now remains to be seen what transpires next because what happened in Bengaluru has not pleased the top brass of the Indian cricket board too.

Reckless bike stunt backfires: Delhi Police tracks down rider, scraps vehicle after viral video

A motorcyclist who performed dangerous stunts in front of a moving Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus has been tracked down and booked after a video of the incident surfaced on Instagram, police said on Wednesday. The video, which quickly went viral, shows a man riding a Royal Enfield Bullet recklessly in front of a DTC bus numbered 253, on its route toward East Delhi's Yamuna Vihar. The biker, not wearing a helmet, is seen weaving dangerously in front of the bus, deliberately blocking its path and preventing the driver from overtaking. The video, set to music, carried the caption 'Ab batao location' (Now tell the location). According to police, the biker was putting not just himself but also other road users at serious risk. 'The biker was endangering not only his own life but also road users' with his erratic riding on a busy road,' the Delhi Police said in a statement. After verifying details of the incident with the DTC control room, police identified the bus involved and analysed the viral video and technical inputs to trace the motorcycle's registration number. Investigators discovered that the two-wheeler had been sold over 13 years ago, but the ownership transfer had never been updated in official records. Police contacted the registered owner, who cooperated with the investigation and helped them trace the bike's current owner. The bike, now over 15 years old, was eventually handed over to a registered scrapper in compliance with regulations, police said. 'Legal action has been initiated against the rider,' the statement added. Also read: Chilling video shows high-speed bike crash that killed Indian MBBS student in Vietnam

Indian-origin blogger fined for falsely accusing Singapore minister of making racial remarks on TikTok

An Indian-origin blogger in Singapore was reportedly fined SGD 6,000 (almost ₹4 lakh) for promoting disharmony between different racial groups in the country. Manmeet Singh, 57, had in a post on TikTok accused Josephine Teo, Singapore's minister for digital development and information, of making racial remarks against Malays, mostly a Muslim community. Manmeet Singh was arrested for the offence on February 4, 2025, and was released after being granted bail in the case later the same day, according to news agency PTI. He pleaded guilty to having knowingly promoted disharmony between racial groups. Singh's lawyers told the court that the blogger, who makes content on socio-political issues on TikTok, was 'led on' by an unknown person. Singh was allegedly sent a link by an unidentified person, which allegedly had the content that led to him making the video on Teo, according to Channel News Asia. In his post, Manmeet Singh claimed that Teo had offensive statements against Malays, who comprise 15 per cent of the population of Singapore, the PTI report stated. The country's population is more than six million at present. Manmeet Singh alleged that Teo had made the remarks when he was inquired about racial progress during an interview with Chinese media on Singapore's development. Teo is of Chinese descent. However, Manmeet Singh, who had more than 9,000 followers when he made the post, did not verify the authenticity of the information before releasing the content, thus landing him in trouble. His lawyers submitted before the court that the blogger had removed the content as soon as he realised he had been 'led on' by someone, as per PTI. Singh's post came to Teo's attention when her colleagues and a media reporter asked her about the video, following which the Singapore minister informed her press secretary about it. Teo's press secretary then downloaded the video and lodged a police complaint regarding the content. Singh deleted his video later the same day and apologised to Teo, admitting that the claims he had made were false. The blogger's counsels further said that he was 'racked with guilt' because of the matter, adding that he has deliberately avoided making videos on politicians since then.
