5 Memorial Day deals to help you fall asleep faster and for longer — from $29
Getting plenty of quality sleep every night can make a world of difference to you how you feel, and a great way to achieve it is by practicing good sleep hygiene – having a consistent sleep schedule – and making your bedroom more sleep-friendly. So if you're shopping the Memorial Day sales for some great sleep deals, I've found five right here that will help you sleep better for less.
Choosing the best mattress for you body can make an instant difference to how comfy you are, which in turn can help you fall asleep faster, and our favorite ever bed (the Saatva Classic) is $400 off in today's Memorial Day mattress sales. Here's what I recommend buying to help you fall asleep faster, better and for longer...
Saatva Classic Mattress: twin from 1,399 now $999 at SaatvaObviously the key component of a winning sleep setup is your mattress (the comfier you are, the faster you fall asleep), and there's only one I'd choose to buy in the Memorial Day sales: the Saatva Classic. Why? Because this luxurious innerspring hybrid mattress lives up to its hype with plenty of full body comfort and back support. It comes in three firmness levels so you can choose your own just-right feel. Our Saatva Classic Mattress review will tell you a whole lot more about this top-rated hybrid mattress; what you need to know right now is that there's $400 off all sizes, with a queen reduced to $1,699. That's the cheapest we generally see the Classic, and there's a chance that prices will increase soon (thanks, tariffs), so today is an excellent time to buy. You'll get a year's sleep trial, lifetime warranty, and free installation too.
Oura Ring Gen3 Heritage: $249 now $199 at OuraA decent sleep tracker can make a world of difference when it comes to understanding how you sleep and helping you improve your sleep hygiene. There are plenty of options, from smart mattresses through to wearables and sleep tracking apps, but for my money the Oura Ring is the best in terms of price, comfort and performance. Obviously all eyes are on the new Oura Ring 4, but if you can live with a marginally shorter battery life and slightly less accurate sensors, the Ring 3 will give you similar performance with some really impressive sleep analysis. Find out why it's a smart choice in our Oura Ring Generation 3 review, but don't forget that you'll have to pay a $5.99/month subscription to get the most out of this smart ring.
Coop Home Goods Original Adjustable Pillow: $85 now from $68 at CoopI know from experience that no matter how good your mattress is, if you pair it with the wrong pillows you're letting yourself in for disturbed sleep plus shoulder, back and neck pain when you wake up unrested in the morning. The best pillow for you will help you sleep undisturbed for longer, and an adjustable pillow is a great option as you can customize it according to your preferred sleep position. Pick a higher option for side sleeping, lower for back and stomach sleeping, and somewhere in between if you're a combination sleeper. Coop's Original Adjustable Pillow enables you to do just that with its adjustable memory foam and microfiber fill, and at a really good price: there's 20% off for Memorial Day, and there are specific shape options for different sleep styles.
CGK 4 piece sheets set: queen $41.99 now $29.99 at AmazonA set of breathable sheets may not make a massive difference to the feel of your bed, but if you've been using the same sheet set for years you'll definitely appreciate how lovely a brand new set of pristine sheets can feel when you climb into bed. And they needn't cost you a fortune: this four-piece set from CGK is a bargain at only $29.99 in a queen size, and it comprises two pillowcases plus a flat sheet and a fitted sheet, deep enough to accommodate a 16" mattress. They're made from double brushed microfiber that's cool, breathable and super soft, and they'll give your bed a final luxurious touch at a very reasonable price. Breathable sheets help regulate your temperature while you sleep, so you won't wake up because you're too warm.
Sony WF-C710N earbuds: $119 now $88 at AmazonA set of sleep earbuds is a wonderful idea in theory if you need some sort of audio distraction to lull you off to sleep, whether it's with relaxing music or soundscapes, bedtime stories, guided sleep meditation or simply white noise. Finding sleep earbuds is another matter: they're either riotously expensive or suspiciously cheap, so I'd suggest getting a pair of ordinary low-profile wireless earbuds instead. And these noise cancelling in-ears from Sony are very much up to the job; as our Sony WF-C710N review explains, they deliver great connectivity and audio quality, plus a long battery life a comfortable fit that won't keep you awake. You can get a 27% discount at Amazon right now, bringing the price down to just $88.

Anti-American sentiment from tariffs is NOT having a major impact on Utah tourism: Utah Office of Tourism
SALT LAKE CITY () — Despite national decreases in international tourism, many Utah businesses saw a successful Memorial Day weekend. Managing Director for the Utah Office of Tourism Natalie Randall told ABC4, 'In the state of Utah, we know that international visitation is a critical piece to our visitor economy.' Randall reported that about 7% of the total visitor direct spending comes from international visitation, and about 40% of that comes from Canadian visitors. 'As you're talking through tariffs, as you're thinking about the Canadian sentiment that's coming in, we're seeing at the national level, there's been this reduction in visitation to the U.S., and at Utah, we know that we're not immune to seeing those changes as well, and so for us it's a priority to remain proactive in the space and continue to engage with the Canadian visitor and let them know that this is a place that they can be inspired to visit.' Natalie Randall, Managing Director for the Utah Office of Tourism However, Randall also told that there was not a large negative impact on tourism over Memorial Day weekend. Upcoming Ogden car show to raise funds for program that helps at-risk youth 'Many of our businesses were able to experience successful weekends, full bookings, and many of them were able to find ways to backfill from what you might anticipate with the international visitation perhaps lagging slightly,' she said. Randall said that there are many reasons to remain optimistic, including West Jet recently investing in a direct flight from Salt Lake City to Edmonton, Canada. In a recent survey of Canadian travelers conducted by Love Communications, 63% of respondents would still consider visiting the U.S. in the next 36 months, with 42% saying 'yes' and 21% saying 'maybe.' In that survey, the most influential factors in interest in visiting the U.S. was natural scenery and iconic landmarks or historical sites, which might offer one explanation as to why international visitation to Utah has not suffered greatly, as Utah is rich in natural scenery and iconic landmarks. Holiday doesn't move gas prices much
Gasoline prices in the Northeast are declining after a busy runup to the Memorial Day holiday that pushed gasoline demand to the highest level of the year so far, according to AAA Northeast. The surge in demand for gas during the week ending May 23 reached 9.45 million barrels a day, an increase of more than 800,000 barrels a day, or 9%, over the prior week, according to the Energy Information Administration. That's the highest demand reading for the week leading into Memorial Day since 2018 and contributed to a sizable drop in gasoline inventories across the nation, including a decline of nearly 3 million barrels in the Northeast. Supplies of gasoline now sit at a 2025 low and are down 5.8 million barrels from the comparable week of last year, the release stated. Normally, strong demand and tightening inventories would spur price increases at the pump, but oil prices remain suppressed on market expectations for more crude production around the world, especially from OPEC+ member nations. The group last week agreed to increase production in July by about 400,000 barrels a day — the third straight month of production increases. Uncertainty about global demand and trade also are quelling market activity that could push prices higher. The average gas price in New York is down a penny from last week ($3.12), averaging $3.11 per gallon. Monday's price was a penny higher than a month ago ($3.10) and 54 cents lower than a year ago ($3.65). New York's average gas price is 3 cents lower than the national average. 'Based on gasoline demand, the lead up to the Memorial Day holiday kicked off the summer driving season with gusto,' said Patti Artessa, director of public affairs outreach for AAA Northeast. 'But one strong week isn't enough to significantly move retail gasoline prices, especially with domestic production continuing near record levels.' AAA Northeast's June 2 survey of fuel prices found the current national average down 3 cents from last week ($3.17), averaging $3.14 per gallon. Monday's national average price is 4 cents lower than a month ago ($3.18) and 39 cents lower than the same day last year ($3.53). Mississippi and Texas have the lowest prices in the nation this week, at $2.64 and $2.70, respectively. California and Hawaii hold the highest prices in the nation this week at $4.77 and $4.47, respectively. New York holds the 15th place on the list of highest gas prices in the nation.
