Tunisia: PhosCo formally awarded Sekarna phosphate exploration permit

PhosCo Ltd has announced the formal granting of the Sekarna phosphate exploration permit in Tunisia. It is the first ever phosphate exploration permit granted 100% by the Tunisian Government to a foreign investor. This development follows the recent approval of the Gassaat project and an important Memorandum of Understanding with the Tunisian Government and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. These moves underline PhosCo's growing presence in the Tunisian mining sector, demonstrate confidence in the company and underline its commitment to responsible resource exploration,' TipRanks said. The 128km² Sekarna permit is a key part of PhosCo's strategic efforts to develop the region's phosphate resources, which could create significant value for stakeholders including investors and the local economy. Tunisia: PhosCo awarded Gassaat phosphate exploration license

In what PhosCo itself calls a 'major breakthrough', the Australian company has announced that it has received government approval for the Gassaat phosphate exploration license in Tunisia. According to Small Caps, which broke the news, the Gassaat permit covers the Chaketma phosphate mineral resource estimate of 146 million tons at 20.6% phosphorus pentoxide, as well as additional phosphate targets immediately to the north of the deposit. The company has a 100% interest in the Zeflana project, which comprises three permits covering a total area of approximately 78 square kilometers in Tunisia, the Sekarna phosphate project to the northeast of Chaketma and the Amoud project in the northern basin. It also holds a portfolio of exploration permits and applications in northern and central Tunisia. The company was formerly known as Celamin Holdings Limited and changed its name to PhosCo Ltd in January 2022. PhosCo Ltd was incorporated in 2009 and is based in South Melbourne, Australia.
