VIRGIN Island was all about helping 12 innocents pop their cherries on TV, but I can reveal that those behind the scenes faced a sex BAN.
The crew, including therapists Danielle Harel, Celeste Hirschman and the experts tasked with helping the cast let loose, were all under strict rules not to get any thrills of their own.

A source said: 'Location shoots like this are usually a hotbed for hook-ups.
"But Virgin Island was no fun for anyone except the virgins.
'Production wanted to make them feel comfortable and unintimidated.
"This sort of crew sex ban is unheard of in the TV world, but is very responsible of Channel 4.'
A second series has been ordered after the show became the broadcaster's biggest launch this year, averaging 1.4million viewers an episode and notching up 9million streams.

AS a pro dancer on BBC's Strictly Come Dancing, Gorka Marquez has been paired with top names including Helen Skelton, Alexandra Burke and Katie McGlynn.
But which other famous faces does he dream of taking to the ballroom floor with?
Speaking at a Soccer Aid training day last week, Gorka said: 'I always say James Corden would be amazing because he comes from musical theatre.
'And he just moved back to the UK again. He can sing, he can move, I think he'd be amazing.
'I was having breakfast with Sir Mo Farah and I was telling him he'd be amazing on the show.
'But anybody who wants to do Strictly and loves dancing would be perfect.

So it is expected to hit the same heights as the first series, which reached nearly 8million streams.

THEY are two of the longest-running sitcoms on the BBC – and they show no signs of slowing down just yet – but their creators are already cooking up endings.
When discussing what was to come in the future, Mrs Brown's Boys' Brendan O'Carroll and Not Going Out's Lee Mack admitted they have very different ideas of how they would wrap things up.
Brendan revealed: 'I'd have the audience peeing themselves with laughter for 25 minutes and then crying their eyes out for the final five.'
But Lee Mack, who co-writes and stars in his series alongside Sally Bretton and Hugh Dennis, responded: 'I'd do it the other way around!'
Brendan's comedy about potty-mouthed Irish Mammy Agnes Brown launched in 2011, while Lee's show featuring him and co-star Sally as husband and wife Lee and Lucy first aired back in 2006.
ACTRESS JOANNA VANDERHAM says she found her role as Diana Mosley in UKTV's Outrageous harrowing. Diana, one of the Mitford sisters, married fascist Oswald Mosley, with Hitler as a wedding guest.
She said: 'Certain lines of hers I found difficult. Her thoughts were so scary.'
SQUID Game's third and final series lands on Netflix on June 27, but director Hwang Dong-Hyuk says the team struggled to come up with new sick games for it.
At a preview screening in London he said he felt 'relief and sadness' to close the show after dedicating six years of his life to it.

Radio 2's Scott Mills reveals secret Liam Gallagher feud as he says Oasis star called him a 'c**t' - but he hopes they can reconcile
Scott Mills has revealed how he has secretly been feuding with Liam Gallagher for years - although he hopes they can reconcile. The BBC Radio 2 DJ came clean about his relationship with the Oasis frontman in his memoir, Love You Bye. Scott, 51, revealed he had a falling out with Liam in the late Nineties, when he felt the full force of Liam's wrath whilst backstage at Top Of The Pops. With the Gallagher brothers going on tour in two weeks, it doesn't look like they'll be invited for an interview on Radio 2. Writing in his memoir, Scott shared: 'I'd met them before and chatted to them briefly, so I thought that might be a bit of an in. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'They were absolutely huge at the time and renowned for being outspoken. Their radio plugger took me over to Liam and said, "You remember Scott, don't you? You've met him before." Liam looked me up and down and went, "Yeah, he's a c**t."' Speaking about the situation today, Scott told The Sun: 'I think he's completely changed. I actually think I am completely changed, but I think he's probably a nicer man now. 'In the Nineties, it was the thing to be mean. All pop stars now are pretty nice. When I joined Radio 1 in '98, a lot were horrible as that was the thing to do. It doesn't happen any more.' The iconic Manchester band are set to reunite in July for their first tour in 16 years, dubbed Oasis Live '25, after finally burying the hatchet last year. The band have been busy rehearsing the past few days and frontman Liam said it's a shame they've missed out on so much because he feuded with his brother Noel as he hailed their practice sessions as 'spiritual'. Oasis split following a backstage disagreement between the Gallagher brothers at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris in 2009. Their return to the stage has been one of the most anticipated music events over the past decade and rehearsals are now well and truly underway. A new book titled Live Forever by John Robb has detailed just how bitter the bands split was at the time. However, fans and friends are hoping that nothing happens on tour, like the row they had backstage in 2009, which took them more than a decade to move on from. One witness said: 'Liam was goading Noel constantly and then the two snapped.' Another witness remembered: 'There were proper punches and Liam smashed up one of Noel's guitars. Liam was like a man possessed. They continued: 'He was swearing constantly and really angry. Medical staff were called along with security. Noel got out as quickly as he could. This was a truly vicious fight - quite horrible.' In his statement confirming he had quit the band at the time, Noel wrote: 'The level of verbal and violent intimidation towards me, my family, friends and comrades has become intolerable.'

Virgin Island staff 'hit with strict bedroom ban' behind the scenes of Channel 4's raunchy TV hit
It might have been all about first-time thrills on screen, but behind the cameras of Virgin Island, things were far less steamy. While the series followed 12 virgins hoping to ditch their inexperience on national telly, it has been claimed that those working behind the scenes - including intimacy coaches Danielle Harel and Celeste Hirschman - were slapped with a strict sex ban. A source told The Sun: 'Location shoots like this are usually a hotbed for hook-ups. But Virgin Island was no fun for anyone except the virgins. 'Production wanted to make them feel comfortable and unintimidated. 'This sort of crew sex ban is unheard of in the TV world, but is very responsible of Channel 4.' MailOnline has contact Channel 4 for comment. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. It comes after the controversial show broke streaming records and sparked swathes of complaints with its unflinching on-screen romps. The groundbreaking Channel 4 show hit screens in May and saw 12 adults embark on a journey of self discovery and openness to intimacy. Lead by sexologists Dr Danielle Harel and Celeste Hirschman and their team, they guided the group of virgins, aged between 22 and 30, on a unique course. The six-part series quickly became one of the most talked-about programmes of the year and broke records for the broadcaster. Packed with shocking scenes and emotional moments, the series was the biggest streaming hit across scripted and unscripted shows this year for Channel 4. During its first 28 days, Virgin Island's episode one became the most watched show for those aged 16-34 on Channel 4 in 2025. The controversial show attracted a whopping 1.4million viewers per episode on average. Now, it has been confirmed that Virgin Island has been recommissioned for a second series. TV boss Jonah Weston said: 'It's been such a thrill to watch this show catch fire. 'This is a live issue among young people, and from the brave cast to our wonderful experts I don't think I've ever worked on anything quite so bold, warm and well-intentioned. 'Watch out for season 2 which will be bigger and bolder than ever!' While Dave, who lost his virginity on the island to surrogate partner Kat, has urged people to apply. He said: 'I had an amazing time on the Island, and I'm truly thankful for the time I spent there. 'Anyone who has watched the show will have seen how much my confidence grew over the course of the series, and I can't speak highly enough of the experts and production team for making us feel so safe and secure. 'I was lucky enough to achieve the ultimate aim of the series whilst on the Island, and I can't wait to see the next group of participants go on the same journey – I would wholly encourage anyone with enough courage and resilience to apply, it's completely changed my life.' However, the record-breaking show has been hit with controversy too and faced plenty of complaints from viewers. Some felt uncomfortable by the intimate scenes between surrogates and the contributors being broadcast so openly. Before it even hit screens last month some telly watchers were shocked by the concept alone and accused Channel 4 of 'scraping the barrel'. When Dave lost his virginity on the programme those watching at home were delighted for him, but were surprised to see such an intimate moment play out on screen. Sharing their thoughts, viewers said: 'Probably the most uncomfortable viewing. Only lasted 20mins and had to turn it off, felt like I was watching a love cult in action. 'Virgin Island is a hideous concept for a TV show. Why would you agree to go on it, to get exploited, even if you're getting paid!?'; 'Well guys, that's the end of #VirginIsland, it's been... weird.'; 'That Virgin Island is one disgustingly difficult watch man Jesus Christ'; 'Is anyone else watching Virgin Island on Channel 4? I find it so bizarre everyone is so vulnerable and it's just a bit strange..'

Meghan Markle honours Harry in heartfelt Father's Day message
Meghan Markle has shared a heartfelt message on social media to mark Father's Day. Shortly before midnight Meghan shared a video on Instagram showing Harry alongside Archie and Lilibet, set to the song Have It All by Jason Mraz with the caption: "The best. Happy Father's Day to our favorite guy." The compilation showed photos and videos of Harry laughing, dancing and spending quality time with his children through the years. The new Father's Day post comes as Meghan has been sharing more and more of her life at home with Harry and their two children on social media. Just last week, she shared an intimate video of the family celebrating Princess Lilibet's fourth birthday at Disneyland. The post on Instagram showed the family enjoying rides at the California attraction, drawing comparisons with Harry's childhood trip to Florida's Walt Disney World with Diana, Princess of Wales, in 1993. The montage also features a clip of Archie, six, and Lili meeting Disney princess Elsa, from the film Frozen. Meghan wears a Minnie Mouse hat in some of the snaps featured in the video, while another image shows a two-tier Little Mermaid-themed birthday cake for Lili. It came just days after posted a video of herself twerking in a bid to bring on labour while pregnant with Lilibet. In the clip, a heavily pregnant Meghan is shown dancing in a hospital room to the Starrkeisha song Baby Momma, alongside the Duke of Sussex. She posted on her Instagram to celebrate Lili's fourth birthday last week, writing: 'Four years ago today, this also happened. 'Both of our children were a week past their due dates… so when spicy food, all that walking, and acupuncture didn't work – there was only one thing left to do!' The candid video, which runs for more than a minute, also features Harry, who is seen dancing in and out of the frame. He is beckoned in by Meghan as the pair dance together, with the duke appearing at the end with the hood of his grey hoodie up as he continues his dance moves. Meghan is wearing a black maternity dress and cradles her large bump as she dances, as well as lifting her skirt above her knees, raising her hands in the air and wiggling low with her hands on her hips and legs. The release of the footage is one of the more unusual ways a member of the royal family has marked a royal birthday. Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond previously told the Mirror: "I suppose Meghan is showing the children more on Instagram because she knows there is a public appetite for photos of them. But she's being very coy about allowing us to see what they really look like. "That's fair enough, if she wants to protect their privacy - though you could certainly argue that there's a very fine line between using them to publicise her Instagram account and her determination to keep their family life private. "With both children at school, she and Harry will obviously have a bit more time to pursue their various activities. Meghan seems to be ramping up her projects more and more, but I think they will both continue to put their family first - just like William and Catherine. And there's nothing wrong with that if you are lucky enough to be able to do so." Be first to get the biggest royal bombshells and exclusives to your phone by joining our .
