Hong Kong actress Anita Yuen made headlines in July last year when she was seen filming her new movie, OMG! Mom's Big New s, around Klang Valley.
The 53-year-old fondly recalled her stay in a recent interview with Hong Kong media, praising the pleasant weather, warm hospitality of the people and professionalism of the local crew.
'The weather was great, and the staff members were very hardworking.
'The people here get along well with each other and don't alienate you just because you're from a different country. There's plenty of good food too,' she said.
Yuen certainly made the most of her time here, diving into Malaysia's vibrant food scene and indulging in the wide variety of delicacies.
In an earlier interview with Sin Chew Daily , Yuen revealed that the very first thing she did upon arriving was eat durian. She also had her first taste of asam laksa.
But her food adventure didn't stop there.
In fact, she indulged so much in Malaysia's culinary offerings that she gained a lot of weight and struggled to fit into a pair of pants that once slipped on easily.
'Now, I have to suck my stomach in to button it up!' said the actress, who's married to singer-actor Julian Cheung.
OMG! Mom's Big News sees Yuen playing Rita Wong, a middle-aged woman whose plans for a peaceful retirement with her husband are upended by an unexpected pregnancy.
The flick also stars Malaysian talents Chan Fong, Tong Bing Yu, Juztin Lan and Miko Wong.

Ex-Malaysia Footballer Baddrol Bakhtiar Sits With Regular Fans
HARIMAU Malaya football legend Baddrol Bakhtiar captured hearts nationwide when he attended Malaysia's match against Vietnam at Bukit Jalil National Stadium yesterday. However, it wasn't just his presence that got people talking. The former national team star, who now serves as Gurun state assemblyman as well as Kedah state exco, showed up to support the Harimau Malaya squad in true grassroots fashion – sitting on the stadium seats alongside regular fans without any VIP treatment. Baddrol attended the match with Larut MP Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin and Kota Bharu MP Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan, but his humble gesture of forgoing special seating arrangements to sit with ordinary supporters has since gone viral on social media. In a TikTok video posted on his account, the sight of the football icon, despite his current political status, choosing to experience the match like any other passionate fan has deeply moved Malaysian sports enthusiasts. 'You are the real hero of the Malaysian team. Best thing about Baddrol – former national player sitting in regular stands with no special treatment, no problem at all,' wrote ZaidZairazi. 'No need to sit in VIP seats. Great to share seats with 61,000 supporters. Salute!' commented user Ehkucai. 'Excellent that YB still comes to support Harimau Malaya because he was once part of the national team,' added Junaidimohdtahir. TikTok star Khaby Lame leaves the US after being detained by ICE
The 25-year-old rose to international fame during the pandemic without ever saying a word in his videos, which would show him reacting to absurdly complicated 'life hacks'. Photo: AP Khaby Lame, the world's most popular TikTok personality with millions of followers, has left the United States after being detained by immigration agents in Las Vegas for allegedly overstaying his visa. The Senegalese-Italian influencer, whose legal name is Seringe Khabane Lame, was detained Friday at Harry Reid International Airport but was allowed to leave the country without a deportation order, a spokesperson for US Immigration and Customs Enforcement confirmed in a statement. Lame arrived in the US on April 30 and "overstayed the terms of his visa,' the ICE spokesperson said. The Associated Press sent a message seeking comment Tuesday to the email address listed on Lame's Instagram account. He has not publicly commented on his detainment. His detainment and voluntary departure from the US comes amid President Donald Trump's escalating crackdown on immigration, including raids in Los Angeles that sparked days of protests against ICE, as the president tests the bounds of his executive authority. A voluntary departure - which was granted to Lame - allows those facing removal from the US to avoid a deportation order on their immigration record, which could prevent them from being allowed back into the US for up to a decade. The 25-year-old rose to international fame during the pandemic without ever saying a word in his videos, which would show him reacting to absurdly complicated "life hacks." He has over 162 million followers on TikTok alone. The Senegal-born influencer moved to Italy when he was an infant with his working class parents and has Italian citizenship. His Internet fame quickly evolved. He signed a multi-year partnership with designer brand Hugo Boss in 2022. In January, he was appointed as a Unicef goodwill ambassador. Last month, he attended the Met Gala in New York City, days after arriving in the US. – AP
