Man charged with causing death of 16-year-old Jaidyn Rice
A man has been charged with the death of 16-year-old Jaidyn Rice after she was struck by a car in Co Down.
Jaidyn was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after the incident which occurred just before 11pm on the West Circular Road, Bangor, on July 8.
A 30-year-old man has now been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and other offences.
He is due to appear at Newtownards Magistrates Court on July 29.

A PSNI spokesperson confirmed: 'The charges are in relation to the fatal road traffic collision which occurred at the West Circular Road area of Bangor on Tuesday 8th July. 16 year old Jaidyn Rice from the Bangor area, who was a pedestrian, sadly died at the scene following a collision involving a car at around 10.55pm.'
Co Down was plunged into mourning following Ms Rice's death, with hundreds of people attending her funeral at at St Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Bangor last Tuesday.
The sermon saw a host of relatives, friends and volunteer groups recount personal stories and pay tributes.

Elaine Clark, Jaidyn's mum, told the mourners of the 'precious memories' she made with her daughter.
She said: 'I miss your hugs and kisses and you telling me that you love me. I miss every single little thing about you, Jaidyn. I could stand here forever and list a billion things that I miss and it still wouldn't cover everything.'
Jaidyn's brother Kenley (12) also spoke of the deep bond they shared and the support his sister gave him.

'Jaidyn was like glitter,' he said.
'She always shined hope and happiness into everybody who met her. And no matter what happened, she'd always be there.
"I remember all the time at my cheer competitions, just before awards, everyone goes up and dances and she was always up on the floor, dancing it out to the max with me. I will miss that — and the time she stood up for me and held me when I cried.'

The loss was also felt by the volunteer groups Jaidyn devoted much of her time to.
Louise Little, from the DICE project, described how they had 'big plans' for her in the charity, as 'when others turned away, she stepped forward' and 'listened when others didn't or couldn't'.
Reverend Ian McKee, who conducted the funeral, said Jaidyn was 'loved deeply and adored absolutely'.
'Her untimely death has devastated the family circle and shocked the whole community right to the core,' he said.

Woman found dead beside burning car was 'dearly loved daughter'
A woman whose body was discovered at the scene of a burning car in Co Tyrone has been named locally as Claire McCain. She is described as a "dearly loved daughter" and "precious sister" whose "beautiful smile will never be forgotten" in moving tributes. Police said on Monday that a person who died following a vehicle fire outside Omagh had been confirmed as a woman in her 30s, following a post-mortem examination. Her remains were found after a fire in a silver Mitsubishi Lancer GS2 was extinguished by firefighters in a field just off the Rylagh Road on Saturday. The fire was initially treated as arson, and police said inquiries were underway into "how the person came to be beside the vehicle". In an update on Monday evening, the PSNI said her death is not believed to be suspicious at this stage. Omagh Independent councillor Josephine Deehan, said that the "tragic and horrific situation" had left the local community "really shocked, greatly saddened and indeed disturbed", Belfast Live reports. Councillor Deehan said Rylagh Road as a "very beautiful, tranquil, rural area" which is home to a "close-knit, supportive community". She also commended the emergency services for attending to the "harrowing situation". SDLP West Tyrone MLA Daniel McCrossan said it was a "deeply disturbing incident that has shocked the local community". He added: "My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of the person who has so tragically lost their life. It is heart-breaking that someone has died in such harrowing circumstances. People in the area are understandably anxious and looking for answers." Claire McCain is described in a family notice as "dearly loved daughter of William and Patricia and precious sister of Christopher and Simone and auntie to Skye". In tributes published online, one person said: "Claire, your beautiful smile will never be forgotten. May you rest in peace, and may your loved ones find comfort in the memories they shared with you." Another wrote: "Unbelievable sadness at the loss of Claire, such a lovely lady inside and out, my thoughts and prayers are with her family during this difficult time." Her funeral will take place on Thursday, leaving Maguire's Funeral Home at noon for interment in Greenhill Cemetery. In an earlier statement the PSNI said officers were working to find out how the victim came to be next to the burning car. Detective Inspector Keon said: 'As fire officers extinguished the blaze they discovered that, tragically, a person had died as a result of the fire. 'We are treating this fire as arson, and our enquiries as to how the person came to be beside the vehicle are ongoing. 'We would appeal to anyone who may have been in the area between midday and 2.15pm (on Saturday), who may have noticed anything suspicious, to contact us."
