THE BOYS Season 5 Showrunner Eric Kripke Warns 'There Will Probably Be Lots of Deaths' — GeekTyrant
It's almost time to say goodbye to The Boys , and if recent comments from showrunner Eric Kripke are anything to go by, the final season is shaping up to be a brutal farewell.
Spotted at the Prime Experience event, the first poster for Season 5 sets the tone with Homelander coldly confident, standing in front of the White House, glancing back at the camera like he knows exactly what's coming… and we won't like it.
Season 4 ended in a dark place. Homelander escalated his power grab by moving to detain anti-Supe protestors in prison camps. Hughie, Frenchie, Kimiko, and MM were taken. Starlight remains on the run. And Butcher? Whatever scraps of his moral compass were left are hanging by a thread.
Speaking with Deadline, Kripke teased fans with an ominous promise:
'There will probably be lots of deaths. There's no guarantee of who's gonna survive.'
Nathan Mitchell, who plays Black Noir (or at least a version of him), didn't help soothe nerves either:
'There are some things that are coming in Season 5 that you're not going to have in your bingo card.'
Even Antony Starr, who continues to deliver one of TV's most terrifying performances as Homelander, framed the final season as a climactic payoff:
'I look at the last two seasons … like an accordion. One piece of the accordion is going out and then this is the compression going back in. There was a lot of setup in Season 4 for Season 5. Everything is gunning towards that climactic end. So it's exciting at the moment because we're filming all that.'

In the original Boys comics, nearly every major character ends up dead, including most of Butcher's team. Butcher himself becomes a full-on villain. Only Hughie and Starlight really make it out alive. But Kripke's version has always taken its own path, remixing and reimagining Garth Ennis' source material in unexpected ways.
That said… the odds of both Butcher and Homelander surviving this? Slim to none. And if either of them do go out, we know it won't be quietly.

'We're banging around the art of the possible. Let's try some stuff, see what sticks.' And what 'sticks' could mean anything, from lowering costs to transforming entire franchises for entirely different audiences. Some of the more interesting examples is taking a gritty, R-rated film and repackaging it for kids and turning a film into an anime. 'Now we can say, 'Do it in anime, make it PG-13.' Three hours later, I'll have the movie,' Burns said. 'But I can do that, and now I can resell it.' A full reworking of a major film, adjusted in tone, format, and rating, done in mere hours with AI. It's not just science fiction anymore, this is now a business model. Lionsgate, which holds the rights to massive properties like John Wick and The Hunger Games , now has the option to rework its library for different audiences with just a few tweaks. New York Magazine noted, 'With a library as large as Lionsgate's, they could use Runway to repackage and resell what the studio already owned.' Burns even cited a more grounded, behind-the-scenes example of how this could impact production: 'We have this movie we're trying to decide whether to green-light. There's a 10-second shot — 10,000 soldiers on a hillside with a bunch of horses in a snowstorm.' In the past, shooting that scene would cost millions and take days. Now? AI could generate the shot for about $10,000. Of course, Burns did clarify that AI doesn't erase everyone from the picture. 'I still have to pay the actors and all other rights participants,' he said. 'But I can do that.' So while the creative implications are still a giant question mark, the business play is clea… faster production, lower costs, and endless remix potential. What comes next? We're all about to find out. This is wild, but its the future. The ball is rolling and there's no stopping it.

Michael Rosenbaum Confirms Secret Role in James Gunn's SUPERMAN — GeekTyrant
Michael Rosenbaum the actor who played the fan-favorite Lex Luthor from Smallville just revealed he is part of James Gunn's upcoming Superman reboot… but maybe not in the way people expected. During a panel at Fan Expo Dallas, Rosenbaum said that he's recorded a 'fun' little voice role for the film. 'James asked me to do something fun, so I have a couple of lines that I voice,' he said. 'There was nothing in this one, but he's the head of DC, so I think he can stick me in a movie or something.' So, no major character reveal, but there is a mysterious voice role, which could likely one of the robot companions at Superman's Fortress of Solitude, where Gunn has already confirmed Alan Tudyk and Michael Rooker are lending their talents. Rosenbaum, of course, is no stranger to voice work. He famously brought Wally West's Flash to life in Justice League and Justice League Unlimited , and has stayed close with Gunn over the years, appearing as crystal-skinned Martinex in all three Guardians of the Galaxy films. With Gunn now running the show at DC, It makes sense that he'd want to bring Rosenbuam along for the ride in anyway that he can. This character he plays in Superman may not be a big role, but maybe Gunn's got something more exciting planned for the actor somewhere down the line. When asked why he wasn't doing more in Superman, Rosenberg said: 'Why am I not in Superman? Why am I not in the movie somehow?' he recalled asking Gunn. But he's not bitter about it, just realistic. 'Whatever comes to me, I look at it, and if it's not too silly, or if it makes me laugh, or I think I could do a really good job, or I think I can make an impression, I'll do it.' Superman hits theaters on Rosenbaum's birthday, July 11, 2025, a fitting gift from one of his best friend. 'He's one of my best friends, and he's very loyal. I think he's got a great vision,' Rosenbaum said of Gunn. Even Smallville's Clark Kent, Tom Welling, chimed in with some love: 'Once (Michael) gets involved, it's better.'

Here's how to buy a Nintendo Switch 2 at launch
The Switch 2 has finally arrived — well, at least in some parts of the world. Nintendo's latest console officially launches in the US tomorrow, June 5th, bringing with it more processing power, a larger 7.9-inch LCD display, and an all-new racing title in the form of Mario Kart World. Preorders for the $449 hybrid console remain sold out; however, if you're looking to grab one on launch day, rest assured that a handful of retailers have announced availability, both in-store and online. So far, Walmart, GameStop, Best Buy, and Target have all confirmed that they will have limited console stock on Thursday, June 5th. The same retailers will also offer the new Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller, the Switch 2 camera, first-party carrying cases, and other accessories that are set to launch alongside the console later this week. We'll be publishing a ton of Switch-related coverage in the coming days — including our full Switch 2 review —but in the meantime, we've rounded up all the details you need to know if you want to attempt to secure a console on day one. After all, there's no telling what post-launch availability will be like, despite Nintendo's attempts to build up an inventory of its next-gen portable system to meet demand. There is no word on whether they will have in-store availability; however, Costco's website indicates that the console will be available for purchase starting on June 5th at an undisclosed price.
