Suspect who allegedly urinated on steps of east Toronto place of worship while shouting antisemitic slurs arrested
Police have arrested a man who allegedly urinated on the steps of a place on worship in Toronto's east end while shouting antisemitic slurs.
The incident happened on June 4 at approximately 10:30 p.m. in the Toronto Beach neighbourhood, near Woodbine Avenue and Queen Street East.
Toronto police said they were called to that area at about 11:30 a.m. on June 6.
The suspect in this suspected hate-motivated investigation fled the scene, they said.
Last Friday, Domenic Buchanan, 22, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with mischief relating to religious property and mischief interfere with property. The charges have not been tested in a court of law.
The accused is scheduled to appear in court on August 19.

Man, 25, drowns in Otter Lake, Que. area

THE CANADIAN PRESS/Jacques Boissinot Quebec provincial police say a man drowned in a lake northwest of Ottawa over the weekend. The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) says a 25-year-old man was swimming in a lake in the municipality of Otter Lake, Que. around 9 p.m. Saturday when he disappeared while attempting to cross the lake. Emergency responders and bystanders attempted to locate him. The SQ says police divers found his body at around 1 p.m. Sunday. Police say an investigation is underway to determine the causes and circumstances of the drowning, adding the man was not wearing a lifejacket. The coroner has also been notified. Otter Lake, Que. is approximately 90 kilometres northwest of Ottawa. There are several lakes in the area.

Trailer holding $100K in tires stolen from Guelph business
Guelph Police are investigating after a trailer was reported stolen. An employee of a south-end business called police to report the theft on Friday afternoon. They told officers a person had allegedly come to the business earlier in the week and claimed to be from a legitimate trucking company. They told the employee they were picking up the trailer as part of a delivery to Winnipeg. When the trailer did not arrive, the employee reported the incident.
