US winger Kevin Paredes hit by another injury setback with Wolfsburg
The German club said Tuesday that Paredes had undergone successful surgery the day before on his foot and would be out 'for the time being.'
The 22-year-old Virginia-born Paredes was a rising star for Wolfsburg and the U.S. after making his national team debut in 2023 but injuries have affected his development.
Paredes only played twice in the Bundesliga last season after a foot injury sidelined him for months. Wolfsburg didn't specify if his latest operation was related to that problem.

Sunderland reach agreement in principle with PSG to sign Nordi Mukiele
Promoted Premier League side AFC Sunderland has reached an agreement in principle with Champions League winners PSG to sign France international fullback Nordi Mukiele (27), according to . The former RB Leipzig defender has been allowed to travel to Wearside to undergo his medical with Regis Le Bris' Black Cats. The versatile Mukiele joined PSG from Leipzig three years ago in a €12m deal. The Stade Lavallois Academy product was expected to leave PSG this summer considering he's not highly regarded by Luis Enrique. The Spaniard sanctioned Mukiele's season-long loan to Bayer Leverkusen last season.
