YouTuber arrested for 'thousands of pounds worth of criminal damage caused to F1 car'
Morgan Burtwistle, 23, was arrested by Northamptonshire Police alongside fellow YouTubers Chazza and SamHam on suspicion of causing criminal damage before being released without further action.
A spokesperson for Northamptonshire Police said: "On Friday, July 4, Northamptonshire Police received a report that a classic Formula 1 car on display at Silverstone Circuit during the British Grand Prix event had sustained several thousands of pounds worth of damage, which was alleged to have been caused by someone accessing the display stand and climbing into the vehicle.
"Officers carried out initial inquiries, and suspects were identified.
"Three men, aged 23, 25 and 27, were arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage to a vehicle and taken into police custody.
"Following a thorough investigation into the circumstances of the incident, all three men were released with no further action."
The trio were livestreaming from the British Grand Prix site. Chazza, real name Charlie, was seen squeezing into the cockpit of an F1 display vehicle during the event's practice day.
In a video posted on YouTube on Monday, Burtwistle said he was taken to a police station for questioning before being held in a cell overnight for 15 hours.
He said: 'I'm genuinely traumatised', and denied having caused any damage to the car, adding that he was not allowed to return to the British Grand Prix for the remainder of the event.
In a statement to the BBC, a spokesperson for Silverstone confirmed that Burtwistle had been issued with a trespass notice as a result of 'anti-social behaviour', banning him from the Grand Prix.
Burtwistle has earned a reputation as one of the UK's most popular streamers, having amassed 826,000 subscribers on YouTube. His video on the British Grand Prix has garnered 94,000 views to date.
Having risen to fame through his content on FIFA and football, he also manages a Baller League team, plays for Red Bull's esports team and participated in Soccer Aid earlier this year.
In an unrelated incident, the police force has also appealed to the public for any information concerning the theft of a steering wheel from a display vehicle at the F1 event this weekend.
Northamptonshire Police has released an image of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident.
It was reported to have happened at 2:30pm local time.
Across the weekend, which saw around half a million people in attendance, a total of 34 crimes were reported for offences including theft, criminal damage, drug possession and assault.
Those who know anything about the theft should call Northamptonshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 25000390674 as soon as possible.

A female police officer has died suddenly in the wake of her arrest for allegedly sending sensitive information. Pc Claire Browne, 44, was found dead by colleagues after they responded to a 'concern for welfare' call at a house in Netley Abbey, Hampshire, at 11am on Monday July 7. She was arrested as part of an investigation into the sending of sensitive police information from her work email to her personal account. It is understood that one issue surrounded claims that she had a campervan under her name to avoid any issues with child maintenance payments. PC Browne is the second serving police officer to die while under investigation by the force's Professional Standards Department, following the death of Pc Alex Hazlett-Beard, a response officer, in February. Police and Crime Commissioner Donna Jones has now ordered an independent review of the department. She said: 'Recent events have understandably raised questions and concerns among officers, staff, and the wider public about how the force handles internal investigations. 'While the force has appropriately referred this matter to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), I believe it is also necessary to examine more broadly how the Professional Standards Department operates, particularly in terms of support provided to officers under investigation and the culture of those investigations. 'To ensure transparency and fairness, I will be commissioning an independent review, led by a qualified individual from outside policing with relevant experience in assessing organisational practices and wellbeing.' In a statement, the force's acting Chief Constable Sam de Reya said: 'Everyone is extremely shocked and saddened by Claire's death, and our thoughts remain with her family, friends and colleagues. 'Claire was a well-loved and respected officer and colleague who had worked in many different departments and teams throughout her policing career. She will be missed by us all.' Hampshire Constabulary confirmed it had referred itself to the IOPC. A spokesman for the force added that Pc Browne's death was 'not being treated as suspicious, and a file is being prepared for the coroner'.
