However, this year's notification, issued by Registrar Vikas Gupta on Tuesday, contains detailed information about credits one needs to earn at every entry and exit point.
Diploma after 2 years
According to the MEME framework, undergraduate students can receive an undergraduate certificate after completing the first year and earning 44 credits; an undergraduate diploma after finishing two years and earning 88 credits; a bachelor's degree after three years with 132 credits; and a bachelor's degree with honours or research specialisation after four years with 176 mandatory credits.
Similarly, postgraduate students can receive a diploma if they exit after the first year of a two-year programme and a master's degree after finishing a two-year course. Students who have completed a four-year bachelor's degree can get a master's degree after completing a year of the postgraduate course, states the notification.
It adds that students who exit a DU programme will be allowed to 're-enter the same college and the same programme of the relevant semester'. It states that students are required to have a certain number of credits in order to re-enter at each level.
The notification added that a detailed guideline for lateral entry of students from other universities shall be issued later.

Gurgaon: MCG is planning to set up three facilities for processing construction and demolition (C&D) waste across the city. "Deliberations on the matter have just started and we are likely to have these plants operational before the next monsoons," a senior MCG official said. A large-scale plant with a 2,000 tonnes per day (TPD) capacity is proposed near the Global City project. The second facility, planned at the Bandhwari landfill site where approximately 12 lakh metric tonnes (MT) of legacy waste exists, will have a 400-500 TPD capacity. At the meeting, discussions centred on MCG's plans to process waste at Auto Market, Sector 10, alongside coordinating with various agencies that could utilise the crushed material. MCG received instructions to establish distinct rates and create a panel of vendors for two purposes: daily collection of C&D waste and clearing legacy construction waste from city hotspots. No fresh assessment The civic body, however, has not yet done any fresh assessment of the construction waste lying across the city roads and public places. TOI reported on June 5 that MCG was unsuccessful in finding an agency to handle the collection and transportation of C&D waste. The corporation has now issued a fresh tender for the third instance to address legacy C&D waste removal. Despite receiving proposals from three bidders in April for removing 6 lakh metric tonnes of legacy waste, none met the required eligibility criteria, officials said. MCG says daily construction waste generation in the city amounts to approximately 1,500 to 2,000 tonnes. Currently, a single firm operates the Basai C&D waste processing facility, collecting construction waste within a 15-kilometre radius of the plant. The Basai facility can process 300 MT of construction debris daily. MCG was unsuccessful in securing a contractor to manage construction waste collection beyond this specified range. During the last financial year, MCG designated Rs 10 crore for C&D waste management in its budget. However, it utilised only half of the allocated amount for construction waste management. For the current fiscal year, the corporation has doubled the allocation to Rs 20 crore for this purpose.

SRCC Placements 2024-25: 19% increase in offers, Rs 36 lakh highest package
The Placement Cell of Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), University of Delhi, announced today that students received over 520 placement offers across diverse roles and industries. The total value of offers stood at Rs 51.5 crore, marking a 19% increase compared to the previous year. According to the data shared by the college, this year's hiring cycle saw a notable increase in offers extended to students, and the overall gross package value. Third round of DU's admission race begins with option of seat upgrade
New Delhi: The competition for a seat at Delhi University is far from over. The university has opened the third round of undergraduate admissions for the 2025–26 academic session under its Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS), offering multiple pathways for students to secure or improve their placements. This phase introduces several key features, including seat upgradation, mid-entry applications, and category-based admissions. Students who secured seats in the first or second rounds can now reorder their course-college preferences in hopes of obtaining a more preferred option. The window for upgradation and preference modification was open from the evening of Aug 2 and closed at 4.59 pm on Aug 3. The results of upgraded seat allocations will be announced on August 5 at 5 pm. Colleges will then begin the approval process, which will continue until 4.59 pm on August 6.
