Notre Dame is in the Top 10 on yet another preseason Top 25 list Fighting Irish sit behind teams like Georgia and Ohio State.
The spring preseason Top 25s keep coming, and Notre Dame keeps being listed in top 10s, if not top 5s.
The latest spring preseason Top 25 comes from On3 Sports' Ari Wasserman, and he has the Fighting Irish at No. 7.
He writes that the Irish "will have the best offensive line in college football", and he also praises the defense and predicts a breakout year for Jaden Greathouse.
Still, the Irish don't crack the Top 5. Those teams are Penn State, Texas, Clemson, Ohio State and LSU. Wasserman has Georgia at No. 6.
Rounding out his Top 10 are Alabama, Oregon and Illinois.

Pro Football Focus ranks Texas A&M's 2025 linebacker unit in the Top 10 nationally

Pro Football Focus ranks Texas A&M's 2025 linebacker unit in the Top 10 nationally One of the strengths of Texas A&M's 2025 roster is finally being recognized this offseason, and credit to Pro Football Focus for being one of the first outlets to rank the entire Aggie linebacker corps as one of the top ten units nationally. Coming in at No. 6 in PFF's Top 10 college linebacker units, Texas A&M came in at No. 6 as Notre Dame (No. 5), Georgia (No. 4), Notre Dame (No. 3), LSU (No. 2) and Texas at No. 1 are the only teams considered "better" overall. After previewing the unit last month, I have been very high on the group since the start of the offseason, knowing that junior Taurean York and senior Scooby Williams will be leading the way. Still, the depth is even intriguing with junior Daymon Sanford, Tristan Jernigan, and Jordan Lockhart all bringing their strengths to the middle of the defense. According to the author, PFF analyst Max Chadwick has Taurean York as his second-ranked linebacker in all of college football, noting that his nation-leading 59 run-defense stops, combined with his improvement in coverage, make him a top 2026 NFL Draft prospect with enormous potential. While Chadwick did not mention Jernigan or Lockhart, who will likely receive the least snaps between York, Williams, and Sanford, he did point out freshman LB Noah Mickhail, whose role in 2025 is unknown, but his skill is undeniable. "Scooby Williams is back for his redshirt senior campaign after starting next to York last season. His 82.0 run-defense grade was 11th among SEC linebackers. Daymion Sanford also returns and was fourth among SEC linebackers with a 64.1 passer rating allowed in coverage. Noah Mickhail also enters College Station as the No. 9 linebacker recruit from the 2025 cycle." Having two elite run-stoppers with York and Williams, combined with Sanford's elevated pass coverage, provides coach Mike Elko and his defensive staff plenty of leeway to get Mickhail on the field early in the season to test his readiness. Texas A&M's defense, outside of some depth issues at defensive tackle, is on track to be one of the top defenses in the SEC. Fans Upset After Braves' Craig Kimbrel Announcement on Saturday

Fans Upset After Braves' Craig Kimbrel Announcement on Saturday originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Atlanta Braves right-handed pitcher Craig Kimbrel used to be one of baseball's best closers. The nine-time All-Star spent his first five seasons with the club, earning NL Rookie of the Year honors in 2011 after going 4-3 with a 2.10 ERA in 79 appearances while converting a NL-high 46 out of 54 save opportunities. Advertisement Kimbrel led the NL in saves from 2011-14, which covered most of his initial Braves tenure. The club drafted the 6-foot, 215-pounder No. 96 overall in the 2008 MLB Draft and initially called him up in May 2010. He pitched 20.2 innings that season. Kimbrel played for the San Diego Padres, Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox, Los Angeles Dodgers, Philadelphia Phillies, and Baltimore Orioles from 2015-24. The journeyman was named Reliever of the Year as a Red Sox player in 2017 and won the 2018 World Series with them. He also became the eighth pitcher in MLB history to reach 400 career saves while pitching for the Phillies in May 2023. However, Kimbrel struggled as an Oriole in 2024, recording a 5.33 ERA in 57 appearances. The 37-year-old signed a minor-league deal with Atlanta this past March and made his first big-league appearance of the year in its 5-4 loss to the San Francisco Giants on Friday. However, the team announced a move on Saturday that upset its fans via social media. Atlanta Braves pitcher Craig Kimbrel (46) © Robert Edwards-Imagn Images "The Braves today recalled LHP Austin Cox to Atlanta and designated RHP Craig Kimbrel for assignment," it announced. Advertisement Kimbrel pitched a scoreless seventh inning on Friday, while Cox hasn't pitched in MLB since 2023. "ARE YOU SERIOUS?" one fan asked. "Sell the team," another said. "The decisions lately feel like no one is in charge. I haven't had this feeling since the 70s. I'm not going back there! Get it together," another said. "What are we doing here?" another asked. "Most embarrassing team in the league, can't just call someone up, has to be an absolute circus," another said. 49ers free agent wide receiver announces retirement after 10 seasons

Nearly three months into the new league year, the San Francisco 49ers still have multiple players from their 2024 roster who are still unsigned and looking for their next opportunity in the NFL. However, that group shrank on Saturday when wide receiver Chris Conley announced his retirement from the NFL through his agent, Jonathan Perzley (reported by NFL Network's Ian Rapoport). Advertisement Conley, 32, played collegiately at Georgia from 2011-14, catching 117 passes for 1,938 yards and 20 touchdowns in 49 career games. The Kansas City Chiefs took him in the third round (No. 76 overall) of the 2015 NFL draft. He spent three seasons in Kansas City, two with the Houston Texans, one with the Tennessee Titans and two in San Francisco. In his 10-year career, Conley caught 226 passes for 2,998 yards and 15 touchdowns. He spent the last two seasons with the 49ers, recording nine receptions for 145 yards in 23 games. According to his agent, Conley is returning to the University of Georgia to pursue a career in filmmaking.
